Diablo 4’s Next Expansion Isn’t Dropping Until 2026!
Welp, bad news for Diablo 4 fans—if you were hoping for a new expansion every year, Blizzard just said, “Yeah, about that…” 😬💀
Diablo’s GM Rod Fergusson has confirmed that the next big expansion won’t arrive until 2026. Yep, you read that right—a full two years after the last one, Vessel of Hatred. 😭🔥
📅 What Happened to the “Yearly Expansions” Promise?
Originally, Blizzard promised us one expansion per year. 🎉 But now? Not so much.
At the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Fergusson told Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier that:
🗓️ A 2025 roadmap is coming before Season 8
🗓️ BUT the second expansion is NOT on it
🗓️ Because it’s coming in… 2026. 😩

💀 What Does This Mean for Diablo 4 Players?
If you’re deep into Diablo 4, you basically have two choices:
1️⃣ Make Vessel of Hatred last as long as possible. (Good luck with that. 😅)
2️⃣ Find another game to scratch that Diablo itch. (Path of Exile 2, anyone? 👀)
🎙️ Blizzard’s Backtracking on Expansions
After Diablo 4’s launch in 2023, Fergusson was sure expansions would be yearly… but by 2024, he started walking it back.
In a GameSpot interview, he admitted:
🗨️ “Our players deserve more content and more ways to play, but the right cadence? I can’t say yet.”
Translation? They realized they couldn’t keep up with the schedule. 😅
🚨 Why the Delay?
🔥 Vessel of Hatred got delayed by six months because it’s apparently huge in scope.
🔥 That pushed back everything else.
🔥 Some fans weren’t thrilled with the expansion’s short story & abrupt ending, so Blizzard might be reworking their approach.
⚠️ Can We Trust Blizzard’s Roadmap?
Blizzard says the 2025 roadmap will give players a clearer idea of what’s coming. But let’s be real…
🤔 Should we believe it?
🤔 Will the 2026 expansion get delayed too?
If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that plans can change FAST in the gaming world. 🎮💀
🗡️ What Now?
🚀 If you’re a hardcore Diablo 4 fan, it looks like you’ll be waiting a while for the next big thing.
🚀 If you’re losing patience, it might be time to explore other games (or just farm more loot until 2026 😆).
