In Elden Ring: Nightreign, Relics give you permanent passive bonuses between runs. Learn how to get, equip, sell, and upgrade Relics and Vessels to maximize your build.
One of the coolest features in Elden Ring: Nightreign is just how many builds you can make thanks to the massive variety of armaments and skills.
The catch? At the end of each run, you lose all your weapons, gear, and levels—your character resets completely for the next Expedition.
That’s where Relics come in.
Relics give you powerful, persistent bonuses that stick with your character between runs. You can swap them in and out anytime at the Roundtable Hold, making them a crucial part of building a strong loadout before heading back out into the chaos.
This guide breaks down what Relics are, how to get them, equip them, and how to unlock new Vessels with more or better slots for customizing your build. Also know how to heal and increase max HP.
🧿 What Are Relics in Nightreign?

Relics are permanent upgrade items that grant passive effects. You don’t lose them when you die, and you’ll even earn new ones at the end of every Expedition—whether or not you take down the Nightlord.
You equip Relics using the Relic Rites table in Roundtable Hold. Look for the blue glowing table near the Expedition board, just past the hallway leading to the Small Jar Bazaar.
Each character has their own Vessel, which is basically a container with three color-coded slots:
- Red – Physical buffs
- Blue – Magic or sorcery effects
- Green – Stamina or mobility-based buffs
- Yellow – Utility effects (like healing, stealth, or support)
- Colorless – Rare and can fit any Relic
Relics also come in different sizes, and the larger ones typically offer stronger or multiple effects. Slot size doesn’t matter—you just need the color to match.
You can freely swap Relics between runs and tailor your loadout depending on your character or which bosses you’re planning to fight.
🛒 How to Get More Relics in Nightreign
You’ve got a few main ways to expand your Relic collection:

1. Complete Expeditions
- Win or lose, you’ll get Relics based on how far you got.
- Defeating a Nightlord = 6 high-tier Relics + a bunch of Murk (currency)
- Failing early = 3 low-tier Relics
- First-time Nightlord kills always reward a unique Nightlord Relic
2. Visit the Small Jar Bazaar
- Buy small Relics early on.
- More powerful Relics unlock the more Nightlords you defeat.
- Eventually, you’ll be able to buy tailored Relics for specific characters.
You can also buy a Scenic Flatstone for 600 Murk—it creates a random Relic (random size, color, and effects). Look for it at the bottom of the Bazaar’s menu.
3. Complete Remembrance Quests
- Each character has their own story arc (tracked in the Journal near Gideon’s room).
- Completing Remembrances will usually reward a special character-specific Relic that enhances one of their abilities.
- Example: Wylder gets a Relic that boosts Claw Shot combos.
🧩 How to Equip & Sell Relics
Head to the Relic Rites table in Roundtable Hold to access your full collection.
Here’s how it works:
- Select your character’s Vessel on the left.
- Your owned Relics are listed on the right.
- Either select a Relic and drop it into a matching color slot, or select a slot to highlight only compatible Relics.
🟡 Pro Tip: Even if a Relic doesn’t perfectly match your build, it’s usually worth filling all three slots to take advantage of passive stat boosts.
🪙 Selling Relics
Got too many? You can trade unused Relics for Murk:
- Scroll to the far-right tab in the Relic Rites menu.
- Select any Relics you want to sell.
- Press R3/right stick to confirm.
Selling Relics clears space and gives you Murk to spend on cosmetics, gestures, or more Relics.
🔄 How to Get New Vessels & Change Slot Colors
Your starting Vessel is usually decent, but sometimes the colors just don’t line up with the Relics you’ve found.

Here’s how to unlock new Vessels:
1. Buy from the Small Jar Bazaar
- More Vessels become available the more Expeditions you complete.
- You can eventually get green-only or yellow-only Vessels that work great with certain characters.
2. Complete Remembrance Quests
- Each character gets at least one alternate Vessel from their personal questline.
- Usually unlocked after the first or second objective.
- These Vessels often have better synergy with character-specific abilities.
To change your Vessel:
- Open the home menu for your character.
- Go to the Vessels tab and select the one you want to equip.
💡 Shared Relics: A single Relic can be slotted into multiple Vessels across different characters. You’ll see an icon if it’s already equipped elsewhere, but it doesn’t unequip it—so go ahead and double-dip if it fits your build!
✅ Quick Tips to Maximize Your Relic Loadout
- Equip all three slots on your Vessel—even with filler Relics.
- Swap Relics between runs depending on boss type or Expedition path.
- Use Remembrance Relics to power up your class-specific skills.
- Don’t sleep on the Scenic Flatstone—it’s a fun way to find new builds.
- Regularly sell old Relics to keep your inventory clean and your Murk high.
Relics are one of the best ways to grow stronger across runs in Elden Ring: Nightreign. They let you build smarter, not just harder—even if you have to start from scratch every time.
