A new Genshin Impact leak reveals a major nerf to Skirk, a highly anticipated Cryo sword user in update 5.7. Fans are upset over her Spiral Abyss limitations and reliance on Escoffier.

Genshin Impact 5.7 Leak Brings Bad News for Skirk Fans

A fresh Genshin Impact leak has hit the community—and it’s not the kind of news Skirk fans were hoping for.

The long-awaited five-star Cryo sword user is set to arrive in Version 5.7, officially confirmed by HoYoverse’s social media.

Alongside her, a new four-star character, Dahlia, will also be joining the roster. Both have already made appearances in the game’s storyline, adding to the hype.

Normally, Genshin makes adjustments during beta to fine-tune new characters before their official debut.

After that, changes are super rare. So when leaks drop with major concerns, players tend to take them seriously.

Skirk, unlike most characters who rely on Energy Particles for their Elemental Burst, uses a unique mechanic called Serpent’s Subtlety

But here’s the kicker: a leak from the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit claims that Skirk can’t carry her Serpent’s Subtlety stacks between Spiral Abyss chambers.

That’s sparked a wave of frustration, as this restriction could tank her performance in the game’s toughest endgame content.

Some fans are drawing comparisons to Mavuika—another character with a similar energy system who can carry over her points.

Speculation is flying that the change to Skirk might be an attempt to balance out recent buffs to her constellations. But it’s not going over well.

Worse still, the community’s pointed out another major issue: Skirk’s heavy reliance on Escoffier, a Cryo support recently added to the game.

Apparently, Escoffier’s presence is essential to unlocking Skirk’s full damage potential. That dependency doesn’t sit well with players who prefer more flexibility when building their teams.

The silver lining? Skirk’s release is still a few weeks away, which means there’s time for HoYoverse to tweak her kit before she goes live. If she’s part of the first banner cycle in Version 5.7, you can expect her debut on June 17. Until then, fingers crossed for some last-minute adjustments.
