Though not yet officially confirmed by HoYoverse, recent leaks all but confirm that Skirk will become a playable character in 5.7, alongside a new four-star unit named Dahlia.
A recent leak shared by GI Kitchen on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit showcases gameplay footage of Skirk in action as part of a team composition featuring Escoffier, Furina, and Dahlia. While beta footage doesn’t always reflect final tuning (especially with damage numbers), it gives fans an early glimpse into how Skirk might perform in real gameplay scenarios.

Contrary to fan speculation that she might introduce a new element, recent leaks confirm that Skirk will be a Cryo character. This makes her an ideal choice for Frozen teams, especially when paired with strong Hydro units like Furina.
In the leaked footage, the Frozen reaction is triggered frequently, locking enemies in place for most of the fight. The result? Near-total crowd control, allowing for safe and consistent damage output.
👨🍳 Escoffier’s Perfect Pairing with Skirk
Among the teammates, Escoffier appears to be Skirk’s best support option. As a Fontaine-based character who boosts elemental damage output, Escoffier helps Skirk reach her full damage potential—especially in Cryo-Hydro synergy teams. Many players who initially weren’t interested in Escoffier are now planning to pull for her, even just at C0, due to this newly discovered synergy.

Naturally, Furina continues to be the go-to Hydro support in Genshin Impact. Her off-field utility, healing, and damage buffs—along with her Salon Members—make her essential in Frozen comps. Her synergy with Skirk feels especially strong in this setup, helping to freeze enemies in place while maximizing Skirk’s Cryo output.

Though some fans are already theorizing that a different support could improve this team even more, Dahlia fits surprisingly well in this version of the comp. Since she’s rumored to appear on the same banner as Skirk, it’s likely players will be able to experiment with their synergy from day one.
