Hello Kitty Island Adventure
When Kuromi and My Melody accidentally spill a magical potion on a bunch of flour in Hello Kitty’s café, they open a secret portal to a place no one has ever seen — Wheatflour Wonderland. This is the premise of Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s first-ever paid DLC expansion, which arrived on September 18, 2025 across Apple Arcade, Steam, and Nintendo Switch, with PlayStation 5 following on October 2, 2025.
Developed by Sunblink in collaboration with Sanrio, Wheatflour Wonderland is the largest new world added to the game since its original launch. It brings wand crafting, environmental puzzles, 150 collectible Wheathearts, a brand-new Sanrio character in Cogimyun, fresh cooking recipes using Noodle Grass, and a story that sees you become one of the legendary Wheatflour Guardians. This guide covers everything — from how to access the DLC, to maxing out Cogimyun’s friendship, to finding all 150 Wheathearts.
Wheatflour Wonderland was announced on July 31, 2025 during a Nintendo Direct broadcast. It was developed with open-world puzzle design as a core inspiration — CPO Chelsea Howe described its puzzles as similar to “Korok puzzles in Breath of the Wild or totem puzzles in Genshin Impact.”
OverviewWhat Is the Wheatflour Wonderland DLC?
Wheatflour Wonderland is the first paid DLC expansion for Hello Kitty Island Adventure, adding an entirely new region — the largest since the game’s original launch. The DLC introduces wand crafting as a core new mechanic, the first-ever appearance of Cogimyun (a Sanrio character introduced in 2015) as a playable Friend, and a sprawling multi-tiered world packed with puzzles, critters, and collectibles.
The DLC is included in the standard Apple Arcade subscription at no additional cost. On all other platforms, it is a one-time purchase. Important: non-DLC players cannot visit Wheatflour Wonderland on another player’s island in multiplayer — a design decision to prevent progression softlocks.
To access Wheatflour Wonderland, you must own the DLC and complete the “Potion Problems” quest. The portal is located in Hello Kitty’s Café. Some puzzles also require City Town content, and the City Town / Wheatflour Wonderland portal is unlocked during the “Saving Snacks” quest.
New CharactersMeet the Residents of Wheatflour Wonderland
Wheatflour Wonderland introduces three new characters to befriend, each with unique rewards and mini-games. These characters reside permanently in the new region and cannot be found on Friendship Island.
You can give Cogimyun up to 3 gifts per day for Friendship XP. Use Friendship Flowers (earned at Friendship 8 via the “Flowers and Friendship” side quest) to reset your daily gift count. Gifting Ultimate Wands is the fastest method to max friendship — don’t accidentally gift regular Magic Wands.
ExplorationWheatflour Wonderland: World Map and Tiers
Wheatflour Wonderland is divided into three tiers of progressively unlockable areas. Each tier requires completing specific quests and crafting the appropriate wands to break forcefields and unlock Critter Launchpads.
Wheatflower Fields · Floating Fields · Wheatheart Tree · Royal Gardens · Citadel · Upper Citadel · Crafting Court · Castle Cabins
Periwinkle Park · Cogimyon’s Corral · Bell Garden · Dusty Dunes
Requirement: reach Upper Citadel fast travel point, then show Durum magic using two different-colored Magic Wands
Critter Temple · Floating Ruins · Sky and Seek · Sun Peak
Requires Ruby, Citrine, Emerald, Alexandrite, Sapphire, Tanzanite, Amethyst, and Quartz Magic Wands
Some critters only appear during specific weather: the Floopy Ballooper during Starfall, the Flovern during Rainfall, and the Flowl during Flourfall. Plan your sessions around these weather windows to complete your critter collection.
Core MechanicMagic Wands: How to Craft and Use Them
Wands are the defining new mechanic of Wheatflour Wonderland. They are crafted at the Wand Forge in the Crafting Court, unlocked during the “Making Friends” quest when you help Chococat repair the station.
Magic Wand Crafting Recipe
The base recipe for any Magic Wand requires: 5× Fairy Dust · 5× Gemstone · 1× Fleck, plus an optional customization material that changes the wand’s visual shape. The Gemstone type determines the wand’s magical effect and color.
When crafting, press “Next” instead of “Craft” after selecting your Fleck to access the optional material slot. Different materials produce different wand shapes — the visual doesn’t affect functionality, only aesthetics.
Wand Types
Gemstone Wands for Tier 3 Access
Reaching and navigating Tier 3 requires crafting: Ruby · Citrine · Emerald · Alexandrite · Sapphire · Tanzanite · Amethyst · Quartz. Gemstones and Jemmies are found on the ground, from statues, and in treasure chests throughout Wheatflour Wonderland.
Magic Wands cannot be gifted to Cogimyun — only the Ultimate Wand can. Wands also cannot be used by visiting players or gifted in multiplayer to prevent breaking host progression.
CollectiblesWheathearts: All 150 Locations & Rewards
There are 150 Wheathearts hidden throughout Wheatflour Wonderland — the DLC’s signature collectible. Collect and trade them at the Wheatheart Tree for milestone rewards.
How to Find Wheathearts
- Puzzle Arches — walk through an arch after using the correctly colored Magic Wand
- Lamppost Puzzles — use two wands of different gemstone types to light lampposts in the correct colors
- Photo Wheathearts — floating collectibles that disappear immediately after being snapped with your Camera
- Treasure Chests — hidden across all three tiers; some require rare gemstone wands to unlock
- Wheatheart Tree Jump — jump through the center of the Wheatheart Tree for a free Wheatheart every session
- Bell Garden — completing the entire Bell Garden rewards 20 Wheathearts at once
- Critter Statues — solve critter statue puzzles (often missed as players assume they’ve already been completed)
Wheatheart Tree Milestone Rewards
Claim rewards from the Wheatheart Tree every 30 Wheathearts collected:
Players most often miss Wheathearts from Tier 2 lampposts (unusual angles make confirmation hard), treasure chests requiring rare gemstones, and critter statue puzzles which leave no physical completion indicator. Double-check these three sources if you’re stuck below 150.

Pro Tips10 Tips for Getting the Most from Wheatflour Wonderland
- Always check the recommended wand crafting order. While wands don’t need to be crafted in sequence, the recommended order makes traversal smoother and prevents backtracking.
- Don’t gift Magic Wands to Cogimyun — the game won’t let you, but be careful with the Ultimate Wand. Save regular wands for your own progression.
- Check all lampposts twice in Tier 2. Unusual viewing angles mean players often think a lamppost puzzle is solved when it isn’t. No visual confirmation system exists.
- Watch for the weather. The Floopy Ballooper (Starfall), Flovern (Rainfall), and Flowl (Flourfall) are weather-exclusive critters.
- Use Friendship Flowers freely once unlocked at Friendship 8. They reset your daily gift quota and are the fastest path to Friendship 30.
- Explore Tier 3 with a full set of Critter Wands. Higher areas require multiple Critter Launchpads — going in underprepared means being blocked from key puzzle locations.
- The Wheatheart Tree jump is free. Jump through the center every session for a bonus Wheatheart. Easy to forget, but it adds up.
- Complete the entire Bell Garden — it gives 20 Wheathearts at once, one of the single largest rewards in the DLC.
- Gift items with the Wheatflour Wonderland tag to Cogimyun for bonus friendship XP. Glass items and the Ultimate Wand are also on her preferred list.
- Keep City Town in mind. Some puzzles and the City Town portal require City Town access. The second DLC targets Q2 2026 and will become increasingly relevant.
What’s NextCity Town DLC & 2026 Roadmap
Wheatflour Wonderland was just the beginning of Sunblink’s DLC roadmap. City Town will be the second paid DLC, delayed from late 2025. As of February 2026, it targets a Q2 2026 release (April–June) at a similar price point.
In the meantime, the free Content Update 5 (CU5) launched on January 23, 2026, introducing Marumofubiyori (Moppu), his secret cave, a new gamer minigame, and a new cooking station. Future free updates (2.11 and beyond) will include a completely redesigned City Town map removing “wait a day” quest requirements in favour of friendship-based progression.
Content Update 5 (Moppu) launched January 23, 2026. City Town DLC targets Q2 2026 (April–June). Apple Arcade players will receive a substantial City Town redesign via update 2.11 ahead of the paid DLC release.
FAQFrequently Asked Questions
For fans of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, absolutely. The DLC is the largest content expansion since launch and introduces a fundamentally new gameplay system (wands and transformation) that reshapes how you explore. At $14.99 or free on Apple Arcade, it represents strong value. Steam user reviews are Very Positive at 81% from launch reviews.
No. Non-DLC players cannot visit the Wheatflour Wonderland region on another player’s island. This was a deliberate decision by Sunblink to avoid softlocking visiting players’ game files and breaking host progression.
There are exactly 150 Wheathearts hidden throughout Wheatflour Wonderland, found via puzzle arches, lamppost puzzles, photo-collectibles, treasure chests, and the Bell Garden. Trade them at the Wheatheart Tree for rewards every 30 collected, up to the final reward at 150.
Cogimyun is a Sanrio character from 2015 who had never appeared in a video game before this DLC. She is a wheatflour fairy searching for Wheatflour Guardians across dimensions. Her 35 friendship levels — the highest of any HKIA character — reflect the DLC’s storyline depth, unlocking unique quests, abilities, and her own furniture set.
Give her 3 Ultimate Wands per day (her best gift). Earn Friendship Flowers from “Flowers and Friendship” at Level 8 — these reset your daily gift quota so you can give even more without waiting.
Not initially. Tier 1 and most of Tiers 2 and 3 are accessible without City Town. However, some specific puzzles and the City Town / Wheatflour Wonderland portal do require City Town access, expected in Q2 2026.
The Ultimate Wand is Cogimyun’s best gift and the only wand that can be gifted to her. Items with the Wheatflour Wonderland tag and Glass items are also on her preferred list.
