Want to change your look in Elden Ring: Nightreign? Here’s how to unlock the Dresser, change your outfit, and collect new costumes—including iconic Dark Souls-inspired sets.
When you first start Elden Ring: Nightreign, you’re stuck with the default appearance and armor set for whatever Nightfarer you pick. No customization, no switching up your look—at least not right away.
But don’t worry. Once you’ve made a bit of progress, you’ll unlock a feature that lets you change outfits, customize your style, and even grab some awesome Dark Souls-inspired skins.
Here’s everything you need to know about unlocking the Dresser, buying new outfits, and changing your Nightfarer’s look.
🗝️ How to Unlock the Dresser and Change Garb
You won’t have access to outfit customization right out of the gate. To unlock the Dresser (aka the place where you can change your character’s appearance), you’ll need to complete two full Expeditions.

Here’s how that works:
- You start with access to just one Expedition: Tricephalos (Gladius, Beast of Night).
- Beat that first Nightlord, and you’ll unlock access to the rest of the Expeditions.
- Complete a second Expedition and defeat any other Nightlord, and the Dresser becomes available in Gideon Ofnir’s old study, just down the hall from the Change Character statue in Roundtable Hold.

Once unlocked, just interact with the Dresser and you’ll be able to:
- Change your character’s outfit
- View unlocked skins
- Purchase and equip new looks with Murk
đź‘• How to Unlock and Buy New Outfits
Once you’ve unlocked the Dresser, you’ll immediately see two new outfit options for every Nightfarer: Dawn and Darkness.
Each one offers a complete armor redesign with a themed color palette:
- Dawn Outfit
- Cost: 14,000 Murk
- Style: Light, gold, white—radiant and clean
- Cost: 14,000 Murk
- Darkness Outfit
- Cost: 35,000 Murk
- Style: Deep black, purples—more ominous and edgy
- Cost: 35,000 Murk
💡 These outfits are available for all eight Nightfarers, meaning you can instantly unlock up to 16 new armor sets once you access the Dresser—if you have the Murk to spend.
🧱 How to Unlock More Costumes
The customization doesn’t stop at just Dawn and Darkness. As you progress through the game, complete Expeditions, and finish Remembrance quests for each Nightfarer, you’ll unlock even more outfit options.
Some examples include:
- Outfits themed around Remembrance milestones
- Special armor sets unlocked after beating certain Nightlords
- Endgame skins inspired by Dark Souls characters, which unlock after defeating the final boss
Once you unlock a new set, you’ll still need to purchase it with Murk before you can equip it—just like with Dawn and Darkness. No free handouts here.

đź’ˇ Quick Tips for Outfit Unlocks
- Murk is your main currency for unlocking outfits. Prioritize it if you care about style.
- The Dresser shows locked and unlocked sets, so you can see what’s coming next.
- Check back often—new outfits will appear as you clear more bosses and complete quests.
- Outfit changes are cosmetic only, so you can look cool without worrying about stats.
Changing your appearance in Nightreign adds a nice touch of personalization in a game that resets so much between runs.
Whether you’re rocking the noble look of the Dawn set or embracing the edge with Darkness gear, it’s a great way to make your Nightfarer feel like your character.
