How to Complete the Shrine of Hircine Quest in Oblivion Remastered – Get Saviour’s Hide

Shrine of Hircine Quest

Track and slay the mythical Unicorn for Hircine in Oblivion Remastered and earn the Saviour’s Hide, a light-armor cuirass with powerful magic resistance. Here’s how to finish the hunt.

Hircine, the Daedric Prince of the Hunt and Master of Beasts, lives up to his name in Oblivion Remastered. His shrine quest is all about tracking and slaying a rare, mythical creature—and if you’re successful, you’ll be rewarded with the enchanted Saviour’s Hide armor, perfect for fending off spellcasters.

Let’s break down how to start the quest, find and kill the Unicorn, and walk away with a slick new armor piece.

🦴 How to Start Hircine’s Shrine Quest

You’ll find Hircine’s Shrine south of the Imperial City. To speak with him, you’ll need to bring a specific offering:

  • Wolf Pelt or Bear Pelt
You can get one by hunting these animals in the wild or simply buying from a general goods merchant.

Once you offer the pelt at the shrine, Hircine will appear and send you on a hunt worthy of his attention.

🦄 The Target: A Mythical Unicorn

Hircine tasks you with hunting down a Unicorn running wild in Harcane Grove, a secluded clearing guarded by three Minotaurs of the Grove. The moment you draw your weapon, the Unicorn and its guardians become hostile—so be ready for a fight.

Strategy for the Hunt:

  1. Lure the Minotaurs Away – Run up to the group, draw your weapon, and bait the Minotaurs into chasing you away from the Unicorn.
  2. Defeat the Minotaurs – Once you’ve got some distance, take them out one at a time.
  3. Return to the Unicorn – With its protectors gone, take down the Unicorn and loot its Unicorn Horn.

🛡️ Returning to Hircine & Your Reward

Once you’ve secured the Unicorn’s Horn, return to Hircine’s Shrine and offer it up. In return, Hircine rewards you with:

Saviour’s Hide
A light-armor cuirass with 25% magic resistance
(A solid pick for light-armor users or anyone dealing with magic-heavy enemies.)

It’s one of the more useful Daedric Artifacts if you’re running a stealthy or spell-resistant build in Oblivion Remastered.
