Need more healing in Elden Ring: Nightreign? Here’s how to find Flask Shards, where to look on the map, and how many you can collect in one expedition.
Elden Ring: Nightreign carries over a lot of core mechanics from the base game—like your good ol’ healing Flask.Â
When you first drop into an expedition, you’ll only have three charges, which definitely isn’t much when every day is a race to power up before the Nightboss showdown.
So, figuring out how to upgrade your Flask should be one of your first priorities. Also read How to Find and Fight Dark Souls Bosses.

How to Get More Flask Shards in Nightreign
There are two main ways to snag extra Flask Shards:
1. Churches
This is the most reliable method. Each expedition will spawn 2 to 4 churches across Limveld. Their exact locations change from run to run, but they’re always somewhere on the map.

- Look for gold building icons on the map—those are your churches.
- Inside, head to the pedestal at the foot of the Marika statue and interact with it. Boom, one Flask Shard.
- Every player in co-op will need to interact with the pedestal individually to get their shard.
Churches are also safe havens—no enemies spawn inside, and you can bust up a few crates for extra consumables while you’re there.
🟡 Pro Tip: Try to hit all the churches within the first two days. Once the rain sets in, getting to some of them can be way harder.
2. Survive the Second Night
If you make it through Night 2 and defeat the boss, you’ll earn a bonus Flask Shard. This is the final guaranteed shard before heading into the big Nightlord fight.

How Many Flask Shards Can You Get?
Here’s the breakdown:
- Max Flask Shards: 4
- Starting Flask Charges: 3
- Max Flask Charges: 7
- +1 Possible Charge: Depending on your World Event
Unlocking all 7 charges during an expedition will also get you the Replenished Sacred Flask achievement—nice little bonus for your efforts.
Don’t Rely Solely on Your Flask
While upgrading your Flask is super important, it’s not the only healing option. There are plenty of consumables you can buy or find, like Warming Stones, which heal your whole party or just yourself.
These are a great backup, especially if you’re playing solo or already low on Flask charges during a rough boss fight.
