IShowSpeed and Dr. Squatch Launch $1 Million SPEEDRUN: Million Dollar Mission — How to Enter

IShowSpeed and Dr Squatch Launch $1 Million SPEEDRUN

IShowSpeed — real name Darren Watkins Jr., 21 years old, and named the world’s #1 Most Influential Creator in 2025 — has teamed up with natural men’s personal care brand Dr. Squatch for one of the most elaborate streamer brand deals in recent memory. It’s not a sponsored stream. It’s not a discount code. It’s a nine-week, $1 million prize pool competition called SPEEDRUN: Million Dollar Mission, and it involves hidden briefcases, wild real-world challenges, Walmart stores as gameplay hubs, and a $250,000 grand finale hunt at the end of it all.

The campaign launched on August 31, 2026 and runs through October 31, 2026. It’s live across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia, and the entire thing was developed in partnership with Applied MSCHF — the cultural production company behind some of the internet’s most viral real-world activations.

How SPEEDRUN: Million Dollar Mission Works

The competition is structured around 25 challenges total across nine weeks, with the $1 million prize pool distributed across three different ways to enter and win:

    1. Briefcase Hunts — Up to $50,000 Per Briefcase

Each week, a physical briefcase filled with a gold bar of Dr. Squatch soap — redeemable for a surprise cash prize of up to $50,000 — will be hidden somewhere in a specific city across the US, Canada, UK, or Australia. Clues to the briefcase’s location are revealed progressively throughout the week across Dr. Squatch’s social channels and the campaign’s central hub at SpeedrunMDM.com. The hunt is first-come, first-served — find the briefcase, claim the prize.

IShowSpeed himself commented on this track with characteristic energy: “I already know people are going to go all out looking for it, and I’m not sitting this one out either. I want that briefcase.”

    2. Weekly Content Missions — Social Media Challenges

Every week, a new content mission rolls out inspired by the kind of chaos that defines IShowSpeed’s streams. These are the challenges that require filming yourself and posting to social media with the official hashtag and a tag of Dr. Squatch’s account on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube. Confirmed and teased challenge types include:

    • Week 1: Use a whole bar of Dr. Squatch soap faster than anyone else — the soap speedrun that gives the event its name
    • Challenging a random stranger to a footrace
    • Barking at a Dr. Squatch retail display in-store — which will be simultaneously humiliating and very funny to witness on TikTok
    • Additional missions themed around IShowSpeed’s world that will be revealed week by week

These missions are no purchase necessary — anyone can participate just by completing the challenge and posting with the required tags.

    3. TikTok Shop Loot Box Bundle — $10,000 Giveaway

Dr. Squatch is also selling a Loot Box Bundle through TikTok Shop, with purchases entering buyers into a $10,000 giveaway. This is the only purchase-dependent element of the competition. It’s worth being clear that no purchase is required to participate in either the Briefcase Hunts or the Weekly Content Missions — the Loot Box track is an additional optional entry method, not a requirement.

    4. The $250,000 Grand Finale

The entire nine-week competition builds toward a $250,000 final briefcase hunt at the end of October. This is the single largest prize in the event and presumably the most elaborate hidden hunt of the series. Full details on the finale haven’t been released yet — they’ll unfold as the competition progresses — but $250,000 in a single briefcase is a serious incentive for anyone who’s been tracking the weekly hunts.

Where to Find the Briefcases — Walmart as a Gameplay Hub

One of the more interesting structural elements of the campaign is that more than 4,000 Walmart stores across the US and Canada are functioning as gameplay hubs. In-store displays and QR codes at Walmart locations connect shoppers directly to the live leaderboard, the mission hub, and weekly challenges at SpeedrunMDM.com. Scanning a QR code at a Walmart near you during the competition period is one of the ways to stay connected to the hunt and track where you stand.

This retail integration is part of the broader design philosophy behind the campaign: rather than running everything exclusively on social media, the competition extends into the physical world. Briefcases in real cities. Challenges that require real-world filming. QR codes in brick-and-mortar stores. It’s designed to feel like a game that exists everywhere rather than a digital-only promotion.

Who Made This — Applied MSCHF’s Fingerprints Are All Over It

The campaign’s creative direction comes from Applied MSCHF, a spinout of the cultural production company MSCHF that’s become known for exactly this kind of reality-bending, internet-native activation. MSCHF’s broader portfolio includes things like physically shipped products that only make sense as internet art objects — the kind of creative output that prioritises cultural conversation over conventional advertising logic.

Applied MSCHF’s involvement explains a lot about why SPEEDRUN: Million Dollar Mission is structured the way it is. The decision to make fans bark at retail displays, race strangers, and speedrun soap usage isn’t accidental — it’s designed to generate content that feels organic to IShowSpeed’s world rather than branded and manufactured. The challenge is whether participants will find this participatory, or whether the gap between “hilarious when Speed does it on stream” and “me filming myself barking at a Walmart display” is larger than the campaign assumes.

Speed’s Take — And His Career in 2026

IShowSpeed told Forbes that his threshold for brand deals is simple: “If I can’t make something entertaining or do something my audience would actually expect from me, I’m probably not going to be excited about it or even do it at all.” He framed the competition as fitting naturally because it mirrors the participatory dynamic that already exists between him and his audience on stream.

Dr. Squatch’s Chief Brand Officer John Ludeke echoed this, describing Speed’s community as “one of the most participatory on the internet” — people who don’t just watch but actively show up, compete, and create alongside him.

2026 has been a significant year for Speed personally and professionally beyond this campaign. He officially released the single “World Cup (Champions)” in June, which appeared on the official 2026 FIFA World Cup music album and was performed live during the closing ceremony of the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on July 19. He also completed a 15-country Caribbean tour in April 2026. For a 21-year-old who started out making reaction videos, the trajectory is genuinely remarkable.

It’s been a big week for streaming-adjacent gaming news. IShowSpeed was one of the biggest individual streamers at the GTA 6 Extended Look event, where the combined reaction stream viewership peaked at nearly 4 million concurrent viewers — a story we covered in depth. On the gaming front, Pokémon GO’s Phantump Catch Mastery event is coming September 26 for anyone looking for something to play this month, and Fable’s official PC system requirements dropped with a surprisingly accessible RTX 2060 minimum spec for a 2027 AAA open-world RPG.
