PlayStation Thanks Fans for 20 Epic Years of God of War
Can you believe it’s been 20 years since Kratos first started slicing through gods and monsters? PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio just dropped a surprisingly emotional “thank you” video to celebrate the two-decade journey of God of War, and yeah—it’s kind of a feels moment.
They take us through Kratos’ wild ride, from his rage-fueled Greek days to the more mature, Norse dad era we saw kick off in 2018. That soft reboot really changed the game, and honestly, who saw God of War still thriving after all this time? Definitely not me.

🎮 A Tribute to the Fans
The tribute video is basically a highlight reel of Kratos doing what he does best—being a total beast. It’s all about thanking the community that’s stuck with him through all the chaos. Just a heads-up though: if you’re not caught up on the series, it’s packed with spoilers.
🔥 Free Stuff in Ragnarok
As part of the anniversary celebration, if you’re playing God of War Ragnarok, there’s a new patch out now. And yep, it comes with the Dark Odyssey armor set, totally free. Just update your game and you’re good to go.
So yeah, 20 years later and God of War is still going strong. Here’s to more epic moments (and probably more dad jokes from Kratos) in the years ahead.
