TL;DR: To get the West Wing Keycard in Resident Evil Requiem, go to the Guard Office in the southwest corner of Central Hall → enter the attached Medication Room to the west → watch the cutscene → interact with Emily/the corpse to receive the West Wing Keycard → return to Central Hall and use it on the West Wing door.
After escaping the opening horror of the Care Center as Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem, your next major objective is unlocking the West Wing. The West Wing holds the Moon Quartz — one of three Quartz cubes you need to escape the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center. Before you can get there, you’ll need the West Wing Keycard.
West Wing Keycard – Location at a Glance
| Item | Location | How to Get It |
|---|---|---|
| West Wing Keycard | Medication Room (off the Guard Office) | Automatic — triggered by cutscene with Emily |
Step 1 – Head to the Guard Office (Safe Room)
Once you regain control of Grace after the fuse puzzle — if you haven’t solved that yet, check out our guide on how to get the fuse in the Care Center in Resident Evil Requiem — head downstairs to Central Hall.
The Guard Office is located in the southwest corner of Central Hall. This is a safe room, meaning enemies will not follow you inside. Take a moment to:
- Save your game at the typewriter
- Manage your inventory at the item/stash box
- Pick up the Antique Coin on the desk
- Grab the Green Herb on the floor
Tip: You’ll also find two collectible Files here: the Care Center Pamphlet on the coffee table and Whiteboard Scrawl written on the whiteboard near the Medication Room steps. Grab both before moving on.
Step 2 – Enter the Medication Room
From inside the Guard Office, head through the door to the Medication Room, which is just a short walk to the west. This room is also free of enemies, so there’s no need to keep your guard up.
Once you enter, a cutscene will play automatically. You’ll encounter Emily, and after the scene ends, interact with her to receive the West Wing Keycard.
Step 3 – Use the West Wing Keycard in Central Hall
With the keycard in hand:
- Return to Central Hall
- Use the West Wing Keycard on the locked door to the West Wing (on the left side of the lobby)
- Head straight into the hallway and turn left — the door on the right is locked from the other side
What’s inside the West Wing? Your first challenge is navigating the Kitchen, where a large mutated chef patrols with a cleaver. Avoid him by pushing the metal cart to create a path. Beyond the Kitchen lies the Dining Room, Filing Room, and eventually the Chairman’s Office where you’ll find the Moon Quartz — a key item needed to escape the Care Center.
