Wondering what to do with extra Relics in Elden Ring: Nightreign? Here’s how to sell them, when it’s worth it, and why Murk might be better spent elsewhere.
As you dive deeper into Elden Ring: Nightreign, you’ll start stacking up a bunch of Relics—especially ones you can’t even use.
Each character has specific Relic color requirements, and odds are you’ll end up with extras that just don’t fit your current builds.
So what do you do with all that overflow? The short answer: sell them—but let’s break down how and when it actually makes sense.
🏛️ How to Sell Relics in Nightreign

After finishing the tutorial and landing in the Roundtable Hold, you’ll get access to the Relic Rites altar—it’s located just to the left of the Table of Lost Grace.
Here’s how to sell:
- Interact with the Relic Rites altar.
- Scroll all the way to the ninth tab (far right).
- Use L3 (PlayStation) / Left Stick Click (Xbox) to filter by color or type.
- Select the Small or Medium Relics (or any others you don’t want).
- Press the confirm button to sell and earn Murk.
This menu is great for cleaning up your inventory and turning unused junk into something useful.

🤔 Should You Sell Relics?
Let’s be real—not all Relics are worth holding onto. The game throws a lot of them at you after each Expedition (even if you fail), and many of those will be:
- Wrong color for your characters
- Underwhelming effects
- Low-tier (Small rarity with a single stat buff)
So should you sell them? Here’s when it makes sense:
✅ Yes, Sell If:
- You need Murk for something specific
- The Relic is a bad fit for any of your characters
- You’ve got a ton of clutter and want to streamline your loadout
Even weaker Relics can give back a decent Murk return, and you can use that Murk for better stuff.

🪙 Best Uses for Murk After Selling Relics
Here’s what you can spend your hard-earned Murk on:
🎲 1. Buy New Relics (600 Murk each)
- Head to the Small Jar Bazaar
- Buy a randomized Relic
- Don’t like what you got? Sell it and try again.

🧥 2. Buy Costumes
- After your second Expedition, you’ll unlock the Mirror to change Garb.
- Each Nightfarer has at least two outfits available (with more unlocked later).
- Styles like Dawn (14,000 Murk) and Darkness (35,000 Murk) offer cosmetic flair.

💃 3. Buy Gestures
- Gestures help with non-verbal multiplayer communication.
- Pick these up using Murk from the Bazaar.
🔮 4. Purchase Relic Rites
- These become available after your first completed Expedition.
- Grants you extra customization and synergy with your Relic loadouts.
⚠️ What Not to Do
- Don’t hoard every single Relic “just in case.”
- If it hasn’t fit your build after several runs, let it go and turn it into something useful.
- Murk is valuable—not just for loadouts, but for style, strategy, and flexibility.
Relics are a huge part of making your Nightfarer feel powerful and unique, but they’re also meant to be flexible. If a Relic isn’t pulling its weight, turn it into Murk and put that currency toward something that actually improves your next run.
