Sims Fans Are Fed Up With the Legacy Collections

Well, this is a disaster. The Sims Legacy Collections were supposed to be a dream come true for longtime fans. EA finally brought back The Sims 1 & 2 with all their DLC, and players were ready for a nostalgia trip. But instead? They got a buggy, crashing mess.

Glitches, Crashes, and Frustration 😤

The Sims Legacy Collection and Sims 2 Legacy Collection dropped on January 31, 2025, and from day one, players have been dealing with constant crashes, lost progress, and even corrupted saves. EA has pushed out some patches, but based on how many people are still complaining, the games are far from fixed.

Over on EA forums and Steam, fans are venting about all sorts of weird problems:

🔥 The game crashes for the most random reasons—speeding up time, getting married, or even just playing for a few minutes. 😵‍💫
🔥 Some towns are completely empty—no buildings, no Sims, just a big, lifeless void. 🏜️
🔥 Sims straight-up disappear—one moment they’re there, the next they’re gone. 👻
🔥 Music gets stuck on an endless loop—hope you love hearing the same song forever. 🎶🔁
🔥 Sims don’t listen to commands—they just stand there, ignoring you. 🫠

A few players say the latest update helped a little, but for most, it’s still a frustrating experience.

And Then There’s the Price Tag… 😬💰

As if all these problems weren’t bad enough, EA is charging $19.99 for The Sims 1 and $29.99 for The Sims 2. That’s a lot to ask for games that are 25 and 21 years old, especially when they’re barely working. If the games were running smoothly, fans might have let it slide. But right now? It feels like paying for a broken product.

No one really knows why EA released the collections in this state, but the damage is done. Sure, they’re working on fixes, but will they actually get the games running properly? Or will fans be stuck with a glitchy mess?
