The First Berserker: Khazan – How to Get Chaos Fragments

If you’re aiming to max out your power in The First Berserker: Khazan, you’re gonna need some solid gear. While enemies can drop weapons and armor, relying on RNG can be a pain. Crafting your own stuff is a much more reliable route—but that means gathering the right materials, and Chaos Fragments are among the rarest.

These bad boys are essential if you’re going for a tanky, defensive build, especially to make the powerful Chaos-Ridden armor set. Here’s how to get your hands on them.

Where to Find Chaos Fragments

To farm Chaos Fragments, you’ll need to take down Maluca, the main boss in the Veiled Knives mission. He can be tough at first, but once you learn his patterns and get used to using Brink Guard, he becomes way more manageable.

The good news? You don’t have to run through the entire level each time. Just select the Throne of the Veil Blade Nexus to skip straight to Maluca’s boss arena.

Tips for Farming Maluca

  • Interrupt his combos in Phase 1 with quick counterattacks.
  • He’s super susceptible to staggering, so stay aggressive when you’ve got the opening.
  • In Phase 2, don’t freak out—focus on landing clean Brink Guards.
  • Learn when to dodge and block—timing is everything.
  • Don’t rush it. Play it safe unless you’re confident you can break his poise.

Once you’ve got the fight down, you can farm him for Chaos Fragments without too much stress.

What Chaos Fragments Are For

Once you’ve got enough Chaos Fragments, you can craft the Chaos-Ridden Set, which is tailor-made for defensive and spirit-based builds. Here’s what you get from it:

  • (2 pieces): Brink Guard gives you Regeneration (up to 5 stacks)
  • (3 pieces): Brink Guard adds +4% damage for 10s (stacks up to 20%)
  • (4 pieces): +0.15 Spirit Accumulation on Brink Guard
  • (5 pieces): On using a Spirit Skill, gain Consumed
  • (6 pieces): Unlock the Volcanic Wrath ability

Consumed is a passive effect that boosts your Stamina Damage by 2% per hit. This stacks up to 30%, and once maxed out, all stacks get consumed, and you regain one Spirit—a sweet boost for aggressive play.

Where to Craft It

By now, you should have unlocked the Blacksmith in the Crevice. Head over there to see what gear you can make, including the Chaos-Ridden Set.

If you don’t have the Chaos-Ridden Scroll yet (you’ll need it to craft the set), you can find it during the Final Conquest side mission. This mission unlocks after finishing the Human Xilence side mission. The scroll is in a chest in the courtyard with the Elite Dragonkin brute, so keep an eye out.
