The Lonely Wanderer Quest Walkthrough – Oblivion Remastered
Once you’re deep into the Dark Brotherhood questline in Oblivion Remastered, you’ll be sent on a hit unlike any before—tracking down a troubled High Elf in the Imperial City and taking him out quietly. “The Lonely Wanderer” is your fifth contract and comes with an optional (but awesome) bonus if you complete it with finesse.
Let’s walk through it step-by-step so you can land that bonus and get your hands on the Shadowhunt bow.
🎯 How to Start “The Lonely Wanderer”
- Join the Dark Brotherhood (if you haven’t already).
- Complete the first four contracts given by Vicente Valtieri, including The Assassinated Man.
- Vicente will then direct you to Ocheeva, who gives you this quest.
- You can usually find Ocheeva at the table in the Cheydinhal Sanctuary, just before Vicente’s chambers.
🔍 Step-by-Step Quest Walkthrough
Step 1: Locate Faelian
- Head to the Elven Gardens District in the Imperial City.
- Ask around (preferably High Elf NPCs) about Faelian.
- Eventually, someone will direct you to the Tiber Septim Hotel in the Talos Plaza District.
💡 You can also spot Faelian wandering between the hotel and another location called Lorkmir’s House later in the quest.
Step 2: Get Skooma for Faelian
Faelian is addicted to Skooma, and he won’t trust you until you give him some.
Where to get Skooma:
- Bravil: Around midnight, find Nordinor in an alley on the north side of town.
- Lorkmir’s House: Later in the quest, Faelian will bring you here. You can break in early and steal some Skooma from inside (pickpocket the key from Faelian if needed).
Once you have Skooma, wait until early morning (around 3–4 AM) and approach Faelian when he leaves the hotel.
Step 3: Secure the Bonus – Kill Faelian in Private
When you give him Skooma, he’ll say:
“Now that we’re… we’re friends… You want to come with me? To my… my special place?”
Follow him to Lorkmir’s House. Once you’re both inside, kill him there. This counts as a secure location, and you’ll qualify for the contract bonus.
⚠️ If you kill him in public or before giving him Skooma, you forfeit the bonus reward.
