Discover where to find Nightshade in Oblivion Remastered, plus learn all the ways this rare plant can be used in quests, alchemy, and more.
Collecting rare plants and items is a huge part of the experience in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Among the more elusive ingredients is Nightshade — a plant that’s crucial for both Alchemy and a few important quests.
Because it only grows in specific areas, knowing exactly where to find it can save you a lot of time and frustration.
Here’s your complete guide to gathering Nightshade and what you can use it for once you have it.
Where to Get Nightshade in Oblivion Remastered

1. The Main Ingredient (Imperial City Market District)
One of the easiest and quickest ways to grab Nightshade:
- Fast-travel to the Market District in the Imperial City.
- Head toward the shop called The Main Ingredient.
- Talk to Ogier Georick inside.
- You can buy four Nightshades from him for a total of 8 Gold.

✅ Quick, safe, and doesn’t require any fighting.
2. Fat Ramp Camp (Southwest of Skingrad)
If you prefer to gather Nightshade yourself:
- Fast-travel to Skingrad.
- Head southwest toward Fat Ramp Camp.
- Around the camp, you’ll find about eight Nightshade plants you can harvest.

Tip:
Plants regrow after three in-game days, so you can always come back later or wait to collect more.
3. Frostcrag Spire (East of Bruma)
If you’ve unlocked Frostcrag Spire:
- Head to the tower located east of Bruma, high up on Gnoll Mountain.
- Inside Frostcrag Spire, start the related quest by visiting the Mystic Emporium in the Imperial City.
- Purchase the Garden upgrade for the Spire’s Living Quarters.
After upgrading:
- You’ll find several plants inside, including four Nightshades ready for harvesting.
- You can sleep in the Spire and wait three days to respawn the plants again.
Frostcrag is a fantastic option if you want a consistent private supply of Nightshade without worrying about finding it in the wild.
