It kicks off automatically when you venture into Mistveil Forest, located east of Kaifeng City in the Granary of Plenty subregion. The deeper you go, the thicker the venomous mist becomes. Eventually, you’ll succumb to the Dawn-to-Dusk poison, triggering a cutscene where an NPC named Zhai Xu rescues you and brings you to his home — a small settlement called Wishing Cove at the forest’s edge.

Getting Your First Cure at Wishing Cove

When you wake up in Zhai Xu’s house, here’s what you need to do:

1. Pick up the jade pendant lying next to your bed
2. Talk to Zhai Xu about the pendant and the poisonous mist — he’ll explain that the Dawn-to-Dusk toxin originates from a man called Sun Buqi, and that he followed a Silver Needle Sect physician here to find a cure
3. Activate Wind Sense (press V) to search for clues around the house

7. Say goodbye to Zhai Xu and leave Wishing Cove completely
8. Open your Bag (press B), go to the Quest Items tab, and read the Thousand-Wish Amendment book

Finding the Hollow Abode Cure

The Hollow Abode Cure is tucked away southwest of the main Mistveil Forest area inside the Soulshade Umbrella – Post Station. This location doubles as a Skill Theft dungeon where you can unlock the Soulshade Umbrella weapon, but you don’t need to complete the entire dungeon just to grab the cure.

Important: This is a skill-restricted zone — you cannot use combat skills inside. You may only sneak and use Touch of Death.

Step-by-Step Hollow Abode Retrieval:

1. Enter the post station’s main courtyard
2. Activate Wind Sense (V key) to reveal enemy sight lines and plan your approach
3. Climb the large tree entwined with the front of the main building — this leads up to the second story and bypasses most guards
4. Enter through the open window on the second floor
5. Turn right and find the staircase leading down
6. Wait for the guard at the bottom of the stairs to turn around
7. Assassinate him using Touch of Death while his back is turned
8. Grab the Hollow Abode cure from the table illuminated by green candles — it’s immediately at the end of the stairs, so you won’t need to go far

Finding the Aureate Pavilion Cure

The Aureate Pavilion cure is located north of Mistveil Forest, east of the North Mistveil Forest Boundary Stone Teleporter. You’ll recognize it as an Outpost marked with a red icon on your map — it should already be visible if you’ve explored the surrounding area.

1. Circle around Mistveil Forest to approach the Aureate Pavilion from the north
2. First visit — use the Healer option: On your first approach, a guard at the entrance will ask if you’re a healer. Say yes to be allowed inside peacefully to cure their leader. Note: the next time you enter, enemies will be hostile regardless of what you said
3. Head to the central hut directly in the middle of the outpost
4. The cure is on the table to the left of the entrance, next to a mummified corpse — not outside the hut. Many players clear the outpost and leave without going back inside to pick it up

You don’t need to clear the entire outpost or spend Energy to claim this cure—just grab it and go. However, if you’re looking to boost your exploration points, clearing the outpost isn’t a bad idea.

Lifting the Fog from Mistveil Forest

Once you’ve collected all three cures, head back to Zhai Xu at Wishing Cove and hand over all three cure notes along with the borrowed manuscript. He’ll start working on an antidote for the Dawn-to-Dusk toxin, but it takes time—specifically, two in-game days. • Destroy the Dawn-to-Dusk blooms at the entrance using Fire Arrows to unblock the way forward
• Investigate four clue spots around the large tree with hanging corpses: the pile of bodies near the Frost Mushroom, the pile of bodies beside the pole, the fans caged by vines, and the fallen wooden coffins
• Destroy three Dawn-to-Dusk blooms on the tree to release the Ashen Sleeping Puppets — then defeat them
• Examine the Silver Needle Folding Fan caged by vines after defeating the puppets
• Pick up the jade pendant that appears on the ground
• Follow the Silver Needle Sect shadow figure — it appears three times to guide you to the hidden lair entrance below

The Hidden Dungeon Section:

Progress through the dungeon until you reach what appears to be a dead end. Look for Sun Buqi’s Notes on a table next to another mummified corpse.

You’ll need to combine the clues in the correct sequence:

• The Dawn-to-Dusk Toxin transforms humans into Sleeping Puppets + A flood and a sinkhole exposed his hidden lair

• Disciples of all three factions became Sleeping Puppets + Secret Lair Sleeping Puppet carries a Silver Needle medicinal gourd
• Secret Lair Sleeping Puppet was once a Silver Needle Doctor + Bodies found in hidden lair show signs of attempted rescue
• A healer’s heart remains true until they die + When the halves are back together, the relationship becomes one…

After piecing together the clues, return the jade pendant to the Sleeping Puppet (the former Silver Needle Doctor) — bring it to the body with the matching pendant. This triggers the next objective.

Final Steps:

• Destroy the three Dawn-to-Dusk blooms in the cavern to eliminate the source of the poison — head toward the ghost-like figure to locate them
• Return to Wishing Cove one last time
• Talk to Zhai Xu to complete the quest and claim your rewards
