WWE 2K25 Slips Up With Hall of Fame Nod for Brian Pillman
WWE 2K25 is packed with wrestlers, cool features, and unfortunately, a small but notable mistake. There’s a voiced line in the game that incorrectly refers to the late Brian Pillman as a WWE Hall of Famer.
While Pillman himself isn’t a playable character in the game, his real-life son, Lexis King, is—and the error comes from a bit of commentary by longtime announcer Michael Cole during King’s in-ring appearance.
The game boasts the biggest roster in WWE 2K history, with more than 300 playable characters. That includes current RAW, SmackDown, and NXT stars, as well as legends and a few original creations from the dev team at Visual Concepts. Lexis King is one of over 30 new faces in this year’s base game.
Reddit user Sad-Ladder7534 was the first to point out the oddity: Michael Cole refers to King as the son of a WWE Hall of Famer.
Why Wasn’t Brian Pillman Included In 2K25’s Season Pass? They Could’ve At Least Placed Him Into The Attitude Era Pack.

While Pillman is definitely a well-remembered figure from the Attitude Era—known for his tag team days with Stone Cold Steve Austin, a wild feud with Austin later on, and his stint with The Hart Foundation—he’s never actually been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Pillman’s story is both inspiring and tragic. He kicked off his wrestling career in WCW back in 1989 and formed the Hollywood Blonds with Austin in ’93. Sadly, he passed away in 1997 from a heart attack while still under contract with WWE, at just 35 years old.

Could WWE 2K25 Be Teasing a Future Induction?
The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony typically happens each April, right before WrestleMania. WWE 2K25 dropped on March 14, just a little over a month before this year’s event, but Pillman wasn’t among the names inducted in 2025. Still, some fans are wondering if that in-game slip-up might actually be a teaser.
One fan speculated the line could hint at a posthumous induction in the future. Given that Pillman’s estate signed a Legacy Contract with WWE in 2024—paving the way for new merchandise—it’s not totally out of the question.
With more WWE 2K25 DLC still to come and a couple of celebrity guest spots yet to be revealed, there’s buzz that Pillman could make a surprise appearance down the line.
Of course, this isn’t the only hiccup players have noticed. The game also has a few other immersion-breaking moments, like typos on wrestler outfits and The Rock removing the wrong elbow pad before dropping The People’s Elbow.
Still, for fans of Brian Pillman, even a mistaken Hall of Fame mention might be a small moment of tribute—or maybe, just maybe, a preview of what’s to come.
