All Pokémon Pokopia Hairstyles

One of the fun aspects of playing as Ditto in Pokémon Pokopia is the ability to customise your character’s look, including their hairstyle. Every hairstyle in the game incorporates a subtle drip effect — a nod to Ditto’s gloopy, blobby nature even in human form. Many of the unlockable styles are also inspired by iconic Pokémon characters from across the series, from Kanto Gym Leaders to Alola rivals. To change your hairstyle at any time, simply interact with a mirror — there’s no need to visit a specific NPC or shop. And with 28 hair colour options on top of each style, the combinations are plentiful.

Below is our in-progress list of every Pokémon Pokopia hairstyle and how to unlock each one. We’ll keep updating this as more are discovered — the community is still actively finding new styles.

Default Hairstyles (Available From the Start)

These 7 hairstyles are available from the very beginning of the game, so you can start customising Ditto right away:

Unlockable Hairstyles — Overworld Human Records

These hairstyles are unlocked by finding specific Human Records as you explore Pokopia’s regions. Human Records come in seven types — newspapers, diary entries, magazines, notes, letters, papers, and photos — and are most commonly found inside or near ruins, abandoned structures, cliffs, and paths. Some require certain abilities like Cut to access:

Unlockable Hairstyles — Dream Island Spawns

Several hairstyles are found exclusively on Dream Islands as random spawns. Crucially, these are not tied to a specific doll or island type — any doll can lead you to any Dream Island cosmetic. They appear in one of two cave-like spots at the base of the mountain near the centre of each island. They are not guaranteed on every visit — if nothing is there, return the following day. Many of these styles are inspired by fan-favourite Pokémon characters:

How to Unlock New Hairstyles in Pokémon Pokopia

New hairstyles in Pokopia are earned through two distinct methods: finding Human Records in the overworld, or collecting random spawns on Dream Islands.

Method 1: Human Records (Overworld)

Human Records are collectible documents scattered throughout the game’s regions that reveal the story of human civilisation. They include newspapers, diary entries, magazines, notes, letters, papers, and photos. Some unlock emotes or cosmetics — including hairstyles — when obtained. When you find and read a specific record, it permanently unlocks the associated hairstyle for use at any mirror.

The Withered Wasteland is the most important early area for hairstyle hunting. Both currently confirmed overworld hairstyles are found here:

• Parted — from “This Year’s Top Trend!” Magazine, found on a small wooden ledge at the clifftop near the windmill area in Withered Wasteland.
• Mermaid (Misty’s iconic style) — from “Unmasking the True Misty!” Magazine, found underground in a cave near Onix in Withered Wasteland. This hairstyle is accessible very early in the game.

Method 2: Dream Island Random Spawns

Several hairstyles — Winged Pigtails, Fluffy (Acerola), Curly (Bede), Long Bangs (Gladion), and likely more — are found as random spawns on Dream Islands. Here’s everything you need to know about finding them:

• Any doll works — Dream Island hairstyles are not tied to a specific island type. You can find any of these styles using any Poké Doll on any Dream Island.
• Where to look — cosmetics always spawn in one of two cave-like spots at the base of the mountain near the centre of each island. Head there first on every visit.
• Not guaranteed — there’s no guarantee a cosmetic will be there on any given day. If both caves are empty, return the next day.
• Equip or save — if you find a new hairstyle on a Dream Island, you can equip it immediately or come back to it at a mirror later. Either way it’s permanently unlocked.

All 28 Hair Colours in Pokémon Pokopia

All 28 hair colour options are available from the very start of the game — no unlocking required. Options range from natural browns and blondes through to vibrant reds and bright purples. You can pair any colour with any hairstyle and change the combination as freely and as often as you like using any mirror. Colours are not tied to specific hairstyles, so you have complete creative freedom here.

Tips for Customising Your Ditto

• Mirrors are everywhere — you can place them in any house you build, and they can also be bought from the Pokémon Center PC Shop for 50 Life Coins. • Hair colour is separate from hairstyle — with 28 colour options available from day one, you can experiment freely without needing to unlock anything extra.
• Hairstyles are permanent unlocks — once you find a Human Record or Dream Island spawn that grants a hairstyle, that style is yours for good. It won’t disappear from your mirror even if you never equip it.
• Dream Island hairstyles require patience — cosmetics are not guaranteed on every visit. Check both cave spots at the mountain base on every trip, and don’t be discouraged if they’re empty. Keep visiting using any doll until they show up.
• Equip on the spot or save for later — when you discover a new hairstyle out in the world, the game lets you put it on immediately or come back to it at a mirror whenever you’re ready.
• Explore Human Records thoroughly — Human Records are scattered around the Pokémon Center, ruined houses, cliffs, and paths; keep an eye near benches, beds, and workbenches. Some need Cut to access, but most are free right away. Check out our Human Records guide for all known locations.
• Progress unlocks more — completing Important Requests, raising your Trainer Rank, helping Pokémon, and increasing your Environment Level all contribute to expanding your wardrobe over time. Also check for Mystery Gift Codes — these sometimes include exclusive cosmetic items unavailable through normal gameplay.
• More styles are still being discovered — the community is actively finding new hairstyles. Some players have reported styles inspired by James, Lyra, and Leaf that haven’t been fully catalogued yet. We’ll update this list as they’re confirmed.
