How to Get Dolls in Pokémon Pokopia

Dolls are some of the most collectible and useful items in Pokémon Pokopia, and thankfully there are four ways to find them. Here’s a full breakdown of every method.

1. Find Them in the Overworld

Like many furniture items in Pokopia, dolls can be stumbled upon simply by exploring the world. Keep an eye out as you traverse new areas — dolls sometimes appear as pickups sitting in the environment, just waiting to be collected. This is the most passive method and works best when you’re already out exploring for other materials.

Two confirmed fixed overworld doll locations worth noting: a Pikachu Doll can be found near the starting area of Bleak Beach, in the building on the right-hand side of the two small huts at the bottom of the stairs. A Pikachu Doll and an Eevee Doll are also found together in a derelict house in the southwestern corner of Bleak Beach. As you explore further areas, keep an eye out for ruins of human homes — these tend to contain dolls.

2. Break Blocks with a Gold Glow (Rock Smash)

One of the most reliable early-game methods is breaking blocks that have a distinct gold glow. These sparkly blocks have a chance to drop dolls when destroyed — though keep in mind you may also receive CDs, fossils, or relics from the same blocks. You’ll need to have learned the Rock Smash ability to destroy these blocks.

If you’re just starting out and need a doll for the Drifloon request, head directly east of the Pokémon Center in the Withered Wasteland — this is the direction Drifloon will point you. After passing through the soft wall on the right, look for a glowing block immediately to your right and smash it to pick up the Eevee Doll. This is a confirmed fixed drop location.

The remaining dolls are found randomly from glowing blocks scattered throughout the world. If you have the Dowsing Machine, pair it with any Pokémon that has the Search specialty to help track down all the blocks with glowing spots more efficiently.

Pro tip: When mining blocks on Dream Islands, eat Hamburger Steak before you go — it powers up your Rock Smash, letting you break ore nodes more efficiently and haul back significantly more materials per visit.

3. Purchase from the PC Shop

Once you’ve made some progress in the game, you can buy dolls directly from the PC shop inside the Pokémon Center. Each doll has a specific Palette Town Environment Level requirement before it appears in the shop. Here’s what’s known:

What Do Dolls Do in Pokémon Pokopia?

Dolls have four distinct purposes in Pokopia, making them some of the most versatile items in the game.

Dream Islands

This is by far the most important use for dolls. Once you’ve found Drifloon — located on the western beach of the Withered Wasteland (turn left when facing the Pokémon Center and head toward the sea, breaking the blocks blocking the path first) — and built the “Riding Warm Updrafts” habitat (three campfires placed side by side, lit by Charmander), you can either show Drifloon a doll directly or interact with any doll placed in the overworld to be carried off to that doll’s corresponding Dream Island.

You can only visit one Dream Island type per day, but you can return to that same island as many times as you like before the day resets. Note that the Substitute Doll is given to you early in the story, so you don’t need to wait — use it right away for a random island while you hunt down specific dolls. Also worth knowing: if you encounter a Drifloon on a Cloud Island during your visit, that Drifloon tracks its daily limit separately from the one in your town, meaning you may be able to visit an additional island that same day.

If you revisit an island, the materials you already gathered won’t respawn — you’ll need to wait until the next day. Dream Islands are the only source of Stardust in the game, and you may also find CDs, Papers, relics, habitat hints, hairstyles, Pokémetal, and even encounter Legendary Pokémon (Entei, Suicune, Raikou, and Mewtwo have all been confirmed as island spawns). Raising Comfort Levels

Dolls can also be gifted to Pokémon as toys to raise their Comfort Level. Some Pokémon specifically request a toy when you interact with them, and dolls — being cute objects — are ideal for Pokémon that have a preference for adorable items. Raising Comfort Levels is key to improving a zone’s overall Environment Level, which in turn unlocks more content and shop items.

Building Habitats

Certain habitats in Pokopia require toys or dolls as crafting components. Two confirmed examples:

• The “Perpetual Mess” habitat — requires two toys to build, and dolls count as toys.
• The “Bed With a Plush” habitat — requires one Bed (any type) and one Doll (any type). This habitat attracts Drifloon, Slowbro, Slowking, and Munchlax.
