The event runs from July 14 through August 4, 2026, and it is live across all platforms at 10 AM PT on launch day.

Night City E-District — The Map Overhaul
E-District was already drawing from cyberpunk aesthetics when it launched, so this crossover is about as natural a fit as it gets. For the duration of the event, the map gets a full Night City makeover — neon skyboxes, holographic koi floating through the air, glitched Arasaka signage plastered across buildings, and graffiti pulled straight from the Cyberpunk universe scattered throughout.
Megacorps like Arasaka have a heavy presence, and there are plenty of nods to Johnny Silverhand and other iconic Cyberpunk 2077 elements for fans who know where to look. The skybox itself is lifted from the Edgerunners anime, and the moon from the show is clearly visible overhead. It is not a brand-new map, but it is one of the more visually distinct event refreshes Apex has done — the Cyberpunk aesthetic does a lot of heavy lifting.
Apex Legends world director Eduardo Agostini mentioned he would love to bring the nighttime version of E-District back into standard rotation permanently, along with nighttime modes for other maps, though nothing is officially confirmed yet. How this event performs will likely inform that decision.
Cyberware Mods and Cyberpsychosis — The New Gameplay Mechanics
This is where the crossover goes well beyond cosmetics. Inside Wildcard, players can install one of two Cyberware mods inspired directly by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners:
- Sandevistan — Inspired by David Martinez. Gives players a high-speed dash in any direction. Two dashes can be chained together before touching the ground, making it useful for closing gaps aggressively or getting out of a losing fight fast.
- Blackwall Breach — Inspired by Lucy. Phases players into the Net, effectively turning them invisible for repositioning. On exit, they unleash a disruptive EMP blast that cracks enemy shields and reveals their positions.
The catch? Leaning too hard on either ability fills your Cyberware Capacity gauge, and maxing it out triggers Cyberpsychosis. Once you go cyberpsycho, your movement speed spikes dramatically and your melee damage becomes devastating — but shields cannot be used or regenerated, and it is melee-only for damage output while in this state. It is a high-risk, high-reward situation that will either win or immediately end your game.
To counter it, Immunoblocker Syringes can be found around the map to reduce the gauge, and Immunoblocker Caches fully reset it. Lead Technical Designer Jesse Medellin confirmed the team specifically wanted cyberpsychosis to capture that sense of overwhelming power paired with real vulnerability — and from what came out of internal playtests, it sounds like it delivers on that.
All Cyberpunk Character Skins in Apex Legends
Both Respawn and CDPR worked together to match each Cyberpunk character with an Apex Legend that felt like a natural fit. Here are all eight legend skin pairings for the event:

- Sparrow x David Martinez
- Rampart x Rebecca
- Crypto x Male V
- Lifeline x Female V
- Gibraltar x Royce
- Loba x Panam
- Ash x Lizzy Wizzy
On top of the legend skins, there are eight weapon skins covering the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L-STAR, P2020, RE-45, R-301, and Kraber. Sprays and banners round out the cosmetic side of the event.
Mythic Skippy — The Alternator That Talks Back
Easily the standout cosmetic of the entire event. Skippy — the mouthy AI smartgun from Cyberpunk 2077 — is coming to Apex Legends as a Mythic skin for the Alternator, and yes, he actually talks. The original voice actor recorded entirely new voicelines specifically for Apex, and they trigger contextually based on what you do in-game: knocks, kills, and other in-match moments can all set Skippy off.
Respawn confirmed they were careful not to have Skippy chattering constantly during the louder, more intense moments of a match — so it sounds like the implementation is tuned to feel reactive rather than annoying. For anyone who spent hours with Skippy in the base game, this is a very welcome surprise.
How This Stacks Up Against Previous Apex Crossover Events
The last major crossover Apex ran was with Gundam earlier in 2026, and that event drove a noticeable surge in player counts. The Cyberpunk collaboration is broader in scope — more gameplay mechanics, a bigger map overhaul, a more recognizable IP for a wider audience, and an interactive Mythic weapon that is a first for the game in terms of reactivity.
