• Adventure: No Power cap. Infinite revives. Relaxed timing on mechanics. Good for learning. Drops limited lower-tier loot.

Calus Resplendent Boss 1: How to Beat Argos in Destiny 2 Pantheon

Argos is the first encounter and comes from the Eater of Worlds raid. He sits behind a large immune shield when the fight begins.

Argos Mechanic: Vex Craniums and Elemental Orbs

Look at the shield around Argos. It has three elemental orbs — Arc (blue), Solar (orange), and Void (purple). Your job is to charge and match Vex Craniums to these orbs.

Here is how it works:

• Find and kill the three Malignant Hobgoblins scattered around the arena. Each drops a Vex Cranium.
• Take each Cranium to the corresponding elemental station around the boss room. The station charges it with the matching element.
• Carry the charged Cranium to the matching elemental orb on the shield and fire at it to move it into the barrier’s central circle.
• Repeat for all three orbs.
• When all three are in place, the DPS phase opens.

Argos DPS Phase Tips

During damage, aim for the red weak spots on Argos’s body. They are the only points that take full damage. Argos fires diamond-shaped tether projectiles — if one connects, it chains to nearby allies. Spread out. Do not cluster together.

You get three DPS attempts before Argos wipes the fireteam. His weak spots do not regenerate. If you burn through all three attempts without killing him, the encounter fails. Bring your strongest single-target damage builds.

Calus Resplendent Boss 2: How to Beat Gahlran in Destiny 2 Pantheon

Gahlran is the second boss and comes from Crown of Sorrow. The fight takes place across three separate arena sections. The whole encounter is built around a rotating buff called Witch’s Blessing.

Gahlran Mechanic: Witch’s Blessing Rotation

Split into three teams of two before the fight begins. Assign one team per arena section.

• Three players stand in the green pool by the Rally Banner to pick up Witch’s Blessing.
• Witch’s Blessing lasts 60 seconds. It lets you kill immune enemies in the arena.
• When the timer gets low, the player with the buff and their unbuffed partner must both stand in the purple node and shoot it simultaneously to transfer the buff.
• If Witch’s Blessing hits zero before you transfer it, the buff holder dies.

Keep trading the buff back and forth while killing adds. Do not let the timer hit zero.

Gahlran DPS Phase: Finding the Real Boss

Gahlran spawns three copies of himself across the three arena sections. Only one is real. Once the Witch’s Blessing mechanic progresses far enough, Gahlran’s Deception enemies spawn near the boss copies.

Stun each Gahlran’s Deception near its respective copy. This reveals which Gahlran is the real one — his hands and crown become exposed weak points. Call out which copy is real. Then the entire team groups at the nearest purple sphere and shoots it together to share Witch’s Blessing for the DPS phase.

Focus fire on his hands and crown. If Gahlran goes immune mid-phase, break his hands again to continue.

Calus Resplendent Boss 3: How to Beat Emperor Calus in Destiny 2 Pantheon

Calus is the final encounter and comes from the original Leviathan raid. To start the fight, shoot the Chalice out of his hands. All six players get teleported to the Shadow Realm.

Calus Mechanic: Shadow Realm and Symbol Callouts

In the Shadow Realm, three players interact with orbs to return to the Throne Room. This splits the fireteam: three stay in the Shadow Realm, three go back to the normal fight area.

Shadow Realm players:

• Calus’s giant head constantly tries to pull you in. Stay on the ground near the wall. Do not jump. Jumping teleports you directly into Calus’s face and kills you instantly.
• Look at Calus’s forehead. Each player sees a symbol: Cup, Sun, Axes, or Dog. All three Shadow Realm players call out their symbols to the Throne Room team.
• Kill Ghost Psions and enemies to earn Force of Will stacks. These stacks boost your DPS output.

Throne Room players:

• Three symbols will be called out from the Shadow Realm. You need to kill the Scions that match those symbols.
• Kill only the correct Scions. Killing the wrong one resets the cycle and costs you all your stacks.
• Do not kill all Psions at once. Each Psion death drops heavy ammo, but it also spawns a yellow-bar enemy. Kill them in sequence, not all at once.

Calus DPS Phase

Once symbols resolve, the damage phase opens. Calus is resistant to legendary rocket launchers in this encounter. Use Linear Fusion Rifles, Solar Fusion grenades on Warlock, or Witherhoard with Well of Radiance for best results.

The active modifier across all Pantheon encounters is Shot Caller. Landing multiple precision hits with a Primary weapon significantly increases your damage output. This is not optional — run a Primary you can headshot consistently.

Each Censer kill resets the cycle. The goal in a high-score run is to build 100 Force of Will stacks before the damage phase for maximum burst. If you do not kill Calus in one phase, three Shadow Realm players return and repeat the symbol process.

Destiny 2 Calus Resplendent Rewards

Completing Calus Resplendent drops reprised weapons and armor from the original source raids. Calus specifically pulls from the Leviathan loot pool, which received updated perks in Monument of Triumph. First clear of each week per account drops an Adept weapon. Subsequent clears drop standard weapons, armor, and five Spoils of Conquest each run.

Additional rewards include:

• Leviathan armor ornaments — chance drops from the Calus encounter for players who never unlocked them originally.
• Calus Conquered Emblem — awarded for completing all three encounters in a single Calus Resplendent run.
• Holofoil weapon variants — rare chase drops tied to reprised Pantheon weapons.

Common Calus Resplendent Wipe Causes

• Jumping in the Calus Shadow Realm — kills you immediately, no exceptions.
• Killing the wrong Scion in Throne Room — resets Force of Will stacks to zero.

• Argos tether daisy-chain — standing too close to allies during DPS spreads the tether and disrupts the entire phase.
