How to Enable or Disable Crossplay in EA FC 27

Crossplay is turned on by default the first time you launch EA FC 27. You do not need to do anything to activate it. But if you want to turn it off or check the setting, here is how.

How to Enable or Disable Crossplay in Ultimate Team

1. From the FC 27 Main Menu, enter Ultimate Team.
2. Open Settings.
3. Select Matchmaking Settings.
4. Under Cross-Play Enabled, select Yes to turn it on or No to turn it off.

EA FC 27 Crossplay vs Cross-Progression: What Is the Difference?

These two things sound similar but they are completely different. Crossplay means playing online with people on other platforms. Cross-progression means your progress, coins, and club data carry over if you switch platforms.

EA FC 27 does not support cross-progression between different platform families. You can carry your progress from PS4 to PS5 or from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S because those are within the same platform family. But you cannot transfer your progress from PlayStation to Xbox or from console to PC.

If you switch from PS5 to a gaming PC, your Ultimate Team club, coins, and progress stay behind on PlayStation. Using the same email address on a new EA Account does not help either. The progress is tied to the original platform account.

The only exception is upgrading within the same family. That is what Dual Entitlement covers. If you bought an eligible PS4 version, you can upgrade to the PS5 version and keep going within the PlayStation ecosystem.

Cannot Find a Friend in EA Connect

Make sure you are searching with the right identifier. Use their EA ID, not just their platform username. Also confirm they have the crossplay setting turned on. If crossplay is off on their end, you will not be able to match with them even after adding them as a friend.

Crossplay Not Working on Xbox

On Xbox Series X|S, crossplay can be controlled at the system level. Go to your Xbox system settings and check the Privacy and Online Safety options. If crossplay is turned off there, it overrides the in-game setting.

Cannot Play With a Friend on a Different Generation Console

This is not a bug. EA FC 27 separates PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC from PS4 and Xbox One by design. There is no workaround for this. Both players need to be on the same console generation to match together.

Switch 2 Players Cannot Join PS5 or Xbox Lobbies

Nintendo Switch 2 does not support crossplay with PlayStation, Xbox, or PC in EA FC 27. Even though Switch 2 has current-gen features like The Grounds, it stays in its own Nintendo matchmaking pool.
