How to Get Aniipods in Aniimo – All Types and Best Methods

    By Eva Roberts · September 21, 2026 · 14 min read
    Aniipods in Aniimo
    • There are 8 types of Aniipods in Aniimo, ranging from the basic starter pod to the rare Sparkling Cube.
    • The quickest way to get Aniipods early is to buy them from Outpost Vendor Joff using Credits.
    • Higher-tier Aniipods require specific talents like Pro Catcher and Master Catcher to unlock.
    • You can also find Aniipods by exploring the world, completing quests, and opening chests.
    • The Aniipod Maker at your Homeland is the most consistent long-term supply method.
    • Aniipod Ultra and Sparkling Cube guarantee a catch — save them for rare or powerful creatures.
    • The Companion Handbook is one of the only sources for Aniipod Track and Aniipod Hyper.

If you want to catch Aniimo, you need Aniipods. That is the core loop of the game. But once you get past the early hours, the basic pod starts to feel pretty weak. Higher-tier pods can give you a 2x catch boost, auto-track targets, catch multiple creatures at once, or even guarantee a 100% catch rate.

This guide covers every Aniipod type, what it does, and every way to get your hands on them — from buying at vendors to crafting at home.

    What Are Aniipods in Aniimo?

Aniipods are the cube-shaped capture devices you throw at wild creatures to catch them. Think of them like Poke Balls, but in the world of Idyll. You throw one during Catch Mode, and the game calculates your capture chance based on the pod type, your talents, and how weakened the creature is.

The type of Aniipod you use matters a lot. A basic Aniipod thrown at an Alpha creature will probably fail. A well-timed Aniipod Mega or Ultra? That is a very different story. Knowing which pod to use — and how to get more — will save you a lot of frustration.

If you are just starting out, check out our Aniimo beginner tips and tricks to get a solid foundation before diving into the catching system.

    All Aniipod Types in Aniimo

There are 8 Aniipods in the current version of Aniimo. Each one has a different catch multiplier or special property. Here is the full list:

    • Aniipod – The basic starter pod. 1x catch rate. You get this at the very start of the game.
    • Aniipod Pro – A step up from the default. Gives a 1.5x capture chance boost.
    • Aniipod Mega – A solid mid-tier option with a 2x capture chance.
    • Aniipod Track – Automatically homes in on nearby targets. 2x catch rate. Great for fast-moving creatures.
    • Aniipod Hyper – Throws faster than normal pods. 2x catch rate. Useful when timing matters.
    • Tumbler – Rolls along the ground and can catch multiple Aniimo at once. 2x catch rate normally, jumps to 6x during a Wild Surge.
    • Aniipod Ultra – Guarantees a successful catch. The captured Aniimo will have at least Elite Potential.
    • Sparkling Cube – The rarest pod in the game. Guarantees a catch, gives the Aniimo Perfect Potential, and makes it a Sparkling variant.

The Tumbler is worth a special mention. Its base rate looks average, but during a Wild Surge it hits 6x and can sweep up multiple creatures in a single throw. If you have Tumblers saved up, wait for a Wild Surge before using them.

Understanding the Aniimo element chart can also help you weaken creatures faster before throwing your pod, which improves your overall catch rate regardless of pod type.

How to Get Aniipods in Aniimo

There are several ways to get Aniipods. The method you use will depend on how far along you are in the game and which tier of pod you are after.

    Buy From Outpost Vendor Joff

The easiest and most reliable early-game source is Outpost Vendor Joff. He sells Aniipods directly for Credits. At the start, only the basic Aniipod is available. As you level up and unlock talents, higher-tier pods open up in his inventory.

Here are the approximate Credit prices at the shop:

    • Aniipod – 2,000 to 3,500 Credits
    • Aniipod Pro – 4,000 Credits (requires Pro Catcher talent)
    • Aniipod Mega – 6,000 Credits (requires Master Catcher talent)
    • Tumbler – 200,000 Credits (requires Master Catcher talent)

Keep spending Credits on pods steadily. Do not hold onto them too long thinking you will need them later. Running out of Aniipods mid-hunt is one of the more annoying things that can happen in this game.

    Buy From Super Claw

Super Claw is a special vendor found west of Horizon Square on Astra, directly east of the Mysterious Vendor. It stocks a wider range of Aniipods but requires specific talents to make purchases. You need the Pro Catcher talent to buy Aniipod Pro here, and the Master Catcher talent for everything above that.

Super Claw prices are slightly higher than the Credit Shop in some cases, but the inventory is more complete for mid to high-tier pods.

    • Aniipod – 3,500 Credits
    • Aniipod Pro – 7,000 Credits
    • Aniipod Mega – 10,500 Credits
    • Aniipod Track – 7,200 Credits (Master Catcher required)
    • Aniipod Hyper – 7,200 Credits (Master Catcher required)
    • Tumbler – 100,000 Credits (Master Catcher required)

Pro Catcher unlocks at Student I, right after the prologue ends. Master Catcher becomes available at Student III. Make sure you grab these talents early so you are not locked out of the better pods longer than necessary.

    Unlock Talents First

Talents are a gate for higher-tier Aniipods. Without the right talent, you simply cannot buy or access the better pods at Super Claw or the Credit Shop. Here is what you need:

    • Pro Catcher – Unlocks at Student I (just after the prologue). Required for Aniipod Pro.
    • Master Catcher – Unlocks at Student III. Required for Aniipod Mega, Track, Hyper, and Tumbler at Super Claw.

Getting these talents should be one of your first priorities after finishing the opening story sections. If you want to level up fast in Aniimo, check out that guide so you can reach Student III and unlock Master Catcher as quickly as possible.

    Explore the Open World

Aniipods can be found scattered across Idyll while you explore. Look for a column of light coming up from the ground — that marks an item pickup. Basic Aniipods and Aniipod Pros are the most common finds this way. Higher-tier pods are much rarer as world drops.

You can also find Aniipods inside:

    • Tree Stumps
    • Dirt Mounds
    • Chests hidden around the map

There are no fixed spawn locations, so you cannot farm a single route. The drops are random as you travel. That said, if you are exploring anyway — which you should be — you will pick up a decent number of pods just from natural movement through the world.

If you need to cover ground quickly to farm more area, the how to fast travel in Aniimo guide will help you move around the map more efficiently.

    Complete Quests and Events

Quests are a solid consistent source of Aniipods. Many main and side quests reward them directly on completion. Event tracks are particularly good for higher-tier pods. Completing tracks like Set Out Pathfinder, Journey Handbook, and Idyll Ecological Investigation can reward you with Aniipod Ultra and even Sparkling Cubes.

Do not skip side quests just because they seem minor. Many of them hand out pods you would otherwise have to grind Credits or resources to obtain.

If you want to know what rewards you can get from current in-game events, check our guide on all Aniimo Twitch drops and how to claim them for bonus items that sometimes include capture pods.

    Level Up Rewards

Every time you hit a new upgrade level, you receive rewards. Aniipods of various tiers are included in many of these milestones. Basic and Pro pods are the most common, but some higher-level milestones hand out Mega pods too. These are automatic — you do not have to do anything extra. Just play the game and they come in.

    Companion Handbook

The Companion Handbook is Aniimo’s version of a battle pass. It is one of the few consistent sources for Aniipod Track and Aniipod Hyper — two pods that are barely available anywhere else. You progress through its tiers by completing Daily Activity missions, which earn you Companion Experience.

If you want Track and Hyper pods, you need to stay active with Daily Activities. There is no shortcut around this. Skipping your dailies means cutting yourself off from a major supply of these specific pod types.

The Companion Handbook also occasionally rewards Sparkling Cubes, making it worth progressing even for players who already have solid pod supply for the basics.

Craft Them at the Aniipod Maker

Once you unlock the Homeland system, you can build an Aniipod Maker and produce pods at home. This is the most reliable long-term farming method in the game because it runs passively while you play.

    Here is how it works:

    • The Aniipod Maker unlocks at RV Level 3.
    • It has 3 levels, and each level unlocks a new recipe — Aniipod, Aniipod Pro, and Aniipod Mega.
    • You need to assign a Lightning-type Aniimo as a worker. The best options are Fulmintis, Luminelle, Fenmane, and Dazmand, all of which have Lightning at Level 3.
    • The facility produces a semi-finished Aniipod first. You then spend 20 Primegy to complete it into a usable pod.

The Homeland system itself unlocks after reaching Level 20 and completing the Welcome Home (Prologue: The Wondrous RV) mission. Once you meet NPC Fannie and register your RV at the park board, you are in.

Once your Aniipod Maker is running, it keeps producing without you needing to grind vendors or explore. Make sure your Lightning workers are fed and assigned properly so the facility does not stall.

Check out our guide on how to get Aniimo eggs and hatch them — building a strong Homeland roster of good workers, including Lightning types, will make your Aniipod Maker far more efficient.

    Elite Training and Other Sources

Elite Training is one of the few places you can earn higher-tier pods like Aniipod Mega, Aniipod Ultra, Tumbler, and Sparkling Cube as drop rewards. It is not guaranteed, but it is worth running regularly since the drops include pods you would otherwise pay a lot of resources to obtain.

Additional sources for specific pods include:

    • Aniipod Ultra – Elite Training, purchase for 200 Glimmer, 200 Lumin Crystals, or exchange 20 Aniipod Ultra Vouchers at an outpost vendor.
    • Sparkling Cube – Elite Training, Companion Handbook, Shop for 1,500 Lumin Crystals, Stamp Rush Shop for 500 Windborn Stamps, or item exchange at 1,000 Sparkling Crystals.
    • Tumbler – Elite Training, Nurture Branch, Holo-Battle Interlink, and some quest rewards. Also available at Credit Shop for 200,000 Credits or Super Claw for 100,000 Credits.

    How to Use Aniipods

Using an Aniipod is straightforward once you know the steps:

    • Enter Catch Mode when you encounter a wild creature.
    • Select an Aniipod from your catching item wheel.
    • Aim your crosshair at the target creature.
    • The screen will show your current capture chance percentage before you throw.
    • Throw the pod. Any catch chance below 100% can still fail.
    • A successful catch adds the creature to your Aniilog collection.

Aniipod Ultra and Sparkling Cube are the exceptions. Neither rolls for success — the moment the throw lands, the catch is confirmed. That is what makes them so valuable for rare targets.

Which Aniipods to Save and Which to Use Freely

Not all Aniipods should be treated the same way. Here is a simple approach:

    • Basic Aniipod and Aniipod Pro – Use freely on common creatures. These refill easily from exploration, quests, and the Aniipod Maker.
    • Aniipod Mega – Use on slightly tougher targets or creatures you want but are not critical. Refillable but takes more effort.
    • Aniipod Track and Aniipod Hyper – Use on creatures that are fast or hard to aim at. They come from the Companion Handbook so supply is limited. Do not waste them on easy targets.
    • Tumbler – Hold specifically for Wild Surge windows. At 6x catch rate during a surge, they are the best multi-catch tool in the game.
    • Aniipod Ultra – Save for rare or hard-to-reach creatures where Elite Potential matters. Do not burn one on something you would replace later.
    • Sparkling Cube – Only use this on a creature you specifically want in its best possible form and plan to keep long-term. Every Sparkling Cube costs significant resources to obtain. Treat each one as a commitment.

If you are thinking about which Aniimo are actually worth a Sparkling Cube or an Ultra, start by reading our Lunara or Helion Aniimo starter guide and the which free Prismana to choose in Aniimo guide to understand which creatures are genuinely worth investing in.

Tips to Keep Your Aniipod Supply Healthy

    • Get your Aniipod Maker running early. The moment you unlock Homeland at Level 20, prioritize building it. Passive production means you always have a base supply.
    • Never skip Daily Activity missions. They are your main source of Companion Handbook progress, which is the primary way to get Track and Hyper pods.
    • Unlock Pro Catcher and Master Catcher fast. These talent unlocks are gates on your access to mid and high-tier pods. They should be near the top of your priority list.
    • Check Tree Stumps and Dirt Mounds as you pass. These respawn and hold Aniipods. It only takes a second to check one and they add up over time.
    • Do not buy Tumblers with Credits. At 200,000 Credits from the shop, that is an extremely expensive purchase. Get them from Elite Training and quests instead.
    • Save your Sparkling Cubes. There is no in-game situation that justifies burning one on a creature you are not 100% committed to keeping.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get Aniipods early in Aniimo?

The easiest early-game source is Outpost Vendor Joff. Buy basic Aniipods with Credits. You will also pick them up from quests and world exploration in the first few hours of the game.

Where is the Super Claw vendor in Aniimo?

Super Claw is located west of Horizon Square on Astra, directly east of the Mysterious Vendor. You need the Pro Catcher or Master Catcher talent to buy higher-tier pods from it.

How do I get Aniipod Track and Aniipod Hyper?

These two pods are mainly obtained through the Companion Handbook. You can also buy them at Super Claw for 7,200 Credits each if you have the Master Catcher talent. They are among the most restricted pods in the game, so keep up with your Daily Activity missions.

What is the best Aniipod for catching rare creatures?

For rare creatures where you want to guarantee the catch, use Aniipod Ultra. If you want the creature to also have Perfect Potential and be a Sparkling variant, use the Sparkling Cube. Do not use these on common creatures.

How do I craft Aniipods at the Aniipod Maker?

Unlock the Homeland system at Level 20 by completing the Welcome Home quest. Then build the Aniipod Maker at RV Level 3 and assign a Lightning-type Aniimo as a worker. The facility produces semi-finished pods, which you complete by spending 20 Primegy each.

Can I get Sparkling Cubes for free in Aniimo?

Yes, but not easily. The Companion Handbook, Elite Training drops, and some event rewards can give you Sparkling Cubes without direct purchase. However, buying them from the shop costs 1,500 Lumin Crystals, or you can exchange 1,000 Sparkling Crystals. They are rare regardless of method.

What is the Tumbler Aniipod best used for?

The Tumbler shines during Wild Surges. Its catch rate jumps from 2x to 6x and it can capture multiple creatures in a single throw. Hold your Tumblers until a surge triggers for maximum value.

Do I need talents to use higher-tier Aniipods?

You need talents to purchase higher-tier pods, not necessarily to use them. Pro Catcher unlocks buying Aniipod Pro at Student I, and Master Catcher unlocks Mega, Track, Hyper, and Tumbler purchases at Student III. If you receive these pods from quests or drops, you can use them even without the talent.

How do I take photos of Aniimo I catch?

Once you catch an Aniimo, you can photograph it using the in-game camera system. Our guide on how to take photos in Aniimo explains the full process.

What should I do after catching new Aniimo?

Make sure you keep them healthy and ready for battles. Check our guide on how to heal in Aniimo to keep your team in top shape after tough encounters.
