The timing on this one couldn’t be more deliberate. EA Sports FC 26 landed on Xbox Game Pass on June 18, 2026 — right in the middle of the FIFA World Cup group stage, which kicked off on June 11 across stadiums in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to jump into the best football sim on the market without paying full price, this is it.
Which Xbox Game Pass Tiers Get EA Sports FC 26
EA Sports FC 26 is now available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass via the EA Play library, which is bundled into both of those subscription tiers. That means access on Cloud Gaming, console, and PC. However, it’s worth flagging that because the game is joining as part of the EA Play catalog rather than as a standard Game Pass title, it will not be coming to Xbox Game Pass Premium — that’s the middle tier — so if you’re on that plan, this one isn’t included for you.
EA Sports FC 25 followed the exact same pattern when it joined Xbox Game Pass in June 2025, so this annual rhythm is becoming pretty predictable for subscribers who follow the series. EA’s sports titles consistently find their way into the subscription a year after launch, which is a solid deal for anyone who doesn’t need to play on day one.
Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also receive a Supercharge Pack as a limited-time bonus, available between June 18 and July 17. On top of that, recurring rewards for Football Ultimate Team Draft Tokens and seasonal Clubs content are included through EA Play membership, along with a 10% discount on eligible EA digital purchases.

The Free World Cup DLC Is Included — Here’s What It Adds
EA dropped a major free update called The World’s Game earlier in June, and Game Pass subscribers jumping in now get it all at no extra cost. The headlining feature is a brand-new standalone tournament mode built around the 2026 World Cup, featuring all 48 qualified nations — 41 of which are fully licensed with authentic kits and crests. Nations like Brazil, Spain, Portugal, the United States, and others received new face scans and proper broadcast packages. Venue-wise, familiar real-world stadiums like MetLife and Hard Rock are joined by Gillette Stadium, BMO Field, and a fictional venue called Central Maw built specifically for the mode.
Beyond the tournament mode, the update brought some substantial changes to Football Ultimate Team as well. Players who log in between June 5 and July 24 get a free 93 OVR Festival of Football Pelé ICON card, and there’s a new token-based reward system plus a long-requested “Evo Undo” feature that lets you reset card progressions. Gameplay-wise, EA rebalanced several mechanics — the Bruiser PlayStyle’s physical boosts were nerfed, AI double-teaming during a press was dialed back, and elite interception animations were expanded to any player with a 90+ Interceptions rating.
The one thing worth noting: EA lost the official FIFA license, and it shows in this update. The official trophy, licensed balls, and traditional stadium dressing that made previous World Cup modes feel complete are absent. There’s no dedicated Captain Your Country mode and no proper trophy lift cutscene after winning. Given that the update is entirely free, it’s hard to be too harsh about the omissions — but long-time fans of the FIFA series will notice what’s missing.
What Else Is on Xbox Game Pass Right Now for Football Fans
If you’re into football management rather than playing on the pitch, Football Manager 26 is also currently available on Xbox Game Pass. Sports Interactive’s latest management sim has been on the service since its November 2025 launch and — unlike EA Sports FC 26 — it’s also accessible on Game Pass Premium, having moved to that tier in April 2026. So if your idea of football gaming is obsessing over tactics boards and transfer windows rather than dribbling past defenders, you’re covered there too.
What’s Coming to Xbox Game Pass Next
The rest of June is lighter on additions compared to the first half of the month, but there are still a couple of things to look forward to before July:
- June 25 — Abyssus (Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Premium | Cloud, Xbox Series X/S): A co-op first-person roguelite shooter arriving as a day-one release.
- June 30 — RV There Yet? (Ultimate, PC Game Pass | Cloud, PC, Series X/S): A day-one release described as a friendslop co-op game — basically one of those cozy multiplayer experiences you drag your friends into on a lazy afternoon.
July is shaping up stronger. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 moves to the Premium tier on July 2 for those who haven’t played it yet. Then on July 6, Winds of Arcana: Ruination arrives across all three Game Pass tiers — one of the more interesting pickups of the summer as a 2.5D Metroidvania. Later in July, Ascend to Zero drops on July 13 and Halo: Campaign Evolved arrives July 28, both as day-one additions to Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Looking further ahead, the fall lineup is stacked with day-one releases: Gears of War: E-Day on October 6, Minecraft Dungeons 2 on September 29, and Valor Mortis on September 25. Into 2027, Persona 4 Revival and Fable are both confirmed as day-one Game Pass titles in February.
Eight Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass on June 30
Before we close out — don’t forget that eight games are leaving the service at the end of the month. The most notable departures are Rise of the Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider (2013) leaving at the same time, which is a pretty rough double hit for action-adventure fans. Also heading out are Mecha Break, Payday 2, Slay the Spire, Ultimate Chicken Horse, Volcano Princess, and Unpacking. If any of those are sitting in your backlog unfinished, you’ve got until June 30.
EA Sports FC 26 joining Game Pass right as the World Cup hits the knockout rounds on June 28 is the kind of timing that makes a subscription feel genuinely worth it. Whether you’re deep into FUT or just want to run through the new tournament mode with a mate on the couch, the window to enjoy this game at the peak of real-world football excitement is wide open right now.
