The three boss NPCs — Voidblade, Skeletor, and Wolfe — roam the Shattered Coast and spawn after the first storm circle closes. They do not have fixed locations. All three share a pool of randomised spawn points concentrated around Calamari Canyon and Frosted Flats. Watch for a skull icon on your mini-map after the first circle closes — it does not appear on the full map.
- Voidblade’s Burst Rifle — Mythic version of the Surgical Burst Rifle. Dropped by the Voidblade boss. Voidblade uses close-range sword attacks and dive-bombs from above — fight her at medium range with your shotgun or SMG, and keep moving when she is airborne.
- Reacher Extending Shotgun — Mythic Extending Focus Shotgun. Dropped by Skeletor. Skeletor regenerates shields mid-fight — maintain sustained, aggressive pressure with a burst rifle or SMG to prevent his regeneration from resetting the fight. Do not give him breathing room.
- Wolfe’s Maven Auto Shotgun — Mythic Maven Auto Shotgun. Dropped by Wolfe. Wolfe is the most dangerous of the three — he moves extremely fast, can teleport behind you, and his howl alerts nearby players to your position. Keep an SMG and shotgun ready. Maintain distance to react to teleports.
Every boss drops a guaranteed Chug Jug alongside the weapon. Grab both immediately after the fight — the skull icon and weapon drop pulls other players toward your position fast.
Mythic Weapons From Activities
- Limitless Seven Sliders — found in the Electric Room inside Sinister Strip. Complete the puzzle in the Prison Complex to unlock the room. These are the Mythic version of the Seven Sliding Gloves — infinite durability, no overheat. Worth running as your mobility slot in every match if you can secure them, though Sinister Strip is heavily contested.
- 9mm Baba Yaga — obtained by rescuing and petting John Wick’s Dog. The dog spawns in the southernmost building at Sinister Strip. Clear the surrounding guards, free the dog from its cage, and the Mythic pistol drops automatically. The 9mm Baba Yaga is a significantly improved version of the Lancehead, with the same magazine-throw mechanic but far better base damage.
- Mythic Striker Pump Shotgun — obtained by completing the Duck Race Minigame near Heatwave Harbor. Head to the large bridge directly north of Heatwave Harbor, interact with the toy ducks to start the race, and follow them down the river to the finish line south of the harbor. Completing the race gives a chance at the Mythic Striker Pump. Not guaranteed — the drop rate is not 100%.
What Weapons to Avoid in Fortnite Runners
A few weapons in the Season 3 loot pool are not worth carrying past the early game:
- Lancehead Pistol (base version) — entertaining mechanic but too weak in mid-to-late lobbies to justify a slot
- Ranger Pistol — early-game filler only; swap it the moment an SMG or AR is available
- Any pistol that is not the 9mm Baba Yaga Mythic — the pistol slot is effectively dead weight in Season 3’s meta unless you are running the Mythic version
The assault rifle slot has also weakened generally. If you cannot find a Surgical Burst Rifle, the Chaos Exploder is still functional but run it knowing it is not the Season 2 version — the nerfs hit it hard.
