If you consider yourself a serious God of War collector, Prime 1 Studio just revealed something that is either the ultimate addition to your shelf or the most beautiful object your wallet is about to refuse. The Japanese manufacturer has officially opened pre-orders for its God of War Ragnarok Atreus 1/3 scale statue as part of its Real Elite Masterline series, and it is everything you’d expect from Prime 1 Studio — which is to say, breathtaking in quality and breathtaking in cost.
The Deluxe Bonus version is priced at $2,299. The standard version, which lacks the bonus swappable parts, comes in at a still-considerable $1,999. Both are expected to ship between January and April 2028.
What You’re Actually Getting for $2,299
Let’s be clear about what that price buys you, because with Prime 1 Studio, the detail level genuinely justifies asking the question. The Atreus statue stands at 37.8 inches tall (approximately 96 cm), with a width of 22 inches and a depth of 27.2 inches. It’s made from polystone and other materials, and it weighs in at a substantial 27.25 kg — this is a piece of furniture as much as it is a collectible.
The sculpt captures Atreus as he appears in God of War Ragnarok — the older, broodier teenager rather than the wide-eyed kid from the 2018 game. His upward gaze and determined stance are rendered with what Prime 1 Studio describes as painstaking paintwork and lifelike textures across his worn costume, fur detailing, and the small scars on his face.
Flanking Atreus are two animals: a bear and a wolf, representing his shapeshifting abilities. Prime 1 Studio has given these a specific symbolic meaning — the bear serves as a metaphor for Kratos, while the wolf represents Atreus himself. They stand side by side as equals, which is a genuinely beautiful visual summation of where the father-son relationship ends up in Ragnarok.
The Deluxe Bonus version specifically includes:
- Two swappable head sculpts — neutral and angry expressions
- Three swappable right arms — lowered, drawing arrow, and raised positions
- Multiple swappable right hands — open hand, knife, and Hati’s Marble options
- Two swappable left arms — bow lowered and drawing bow
- Two swappable knife sheaths — empty and with knife
- One head stand for displaying alternate head sculpts
- The Mask of Creation sought by Odin in Ragnarok, included as an additional prop for the raised arm position
The standard edition at $1,999 omits the swappable heads, the additional arms, and the Mask of Creation. You still get Atreus with the bear and wolf in his primary pose, but you lose the ability to change up the display. Given the price difference is “only” $300 at this tier, the DX version is the one most dedicated collectors will gravitate toward — especially since the DX is limited to 350 units worldwide.
It’s worth noting that neither price includes tax or shipping, which for a 27kg polystone statue shipped internationally could add meaningfully to the total.
Where This Fits in Prime 1 Studio’s God of War Collection
Prime 1 Studio has been building out its God of War lineup steadily. The previously released Kratos 1/3 scale statue from Ragnarok, which features the Leviathan Axe and Guardian Shield alongside Mimir with LED-lit eyes, is priced at $1,899 for the standard version. A Thor 1/3 scale statue is listed at $1,999. The Throne Legacy line adds Young Kratos and Master Thyself Kratos throne pieces at $1,549 each.
The Atreus piece completes what is effectively a father-son set alongside the existing Kratos statue, and Prime 1 Studio has previously released a 1/4 scale Kratos and Atreus joint statue at $1,499 for those who prefer a smaller format with both characters together. Having both the full-size Kratos and Atreus pieces from the Real Elite Masterline series displayed together would be a genuinely stunning shelf arrangement — assuming you have about $4,200 to spend before shipping and tax.
Prime 1 Studio also has a comparable Last of Us Bloater statue available for $2,399, along with pieces in the Fallout, Gears of War, and Death Stranding lines. The premium collectible market is busy right now, and Prime 1 Studio is consistently operating at the highest end of it.
The God of War Franchise Right Now: What Comes Before the Statue Ships
The Atreus statue doesn’t ship until early 2028, which means there is a significant amount of God of War content between now and when the statue arrives on your shelf — assuming you pre-order it.
The next God of War release is God of War Laufey, confirmed for February 16, 2027 exclusively on PlayStation 5. This is a significant departure for the franchise — Laufey is the first mainline God of War game where Kratos is not the playable protagonist. Instead, players take on the role of Faye (Laufey the Just), Kratos’ deceased wife and Atreus’ mother, voiced by Deborah Ann Woll.
The story picks up immediately after Faye’s cremation at the opening of the 2018 God of War, with Faye awakening unexpectedly in the Everywhen — an afterlife realm where gods from multiple mythologies, including Egyptian and Tibetan pantheons, battle for power. Faye must fight her way through this world to protect the plans she put in place for Kratos and Atreus. She’s joined by two new companions: Phranque, a sentient cosmic cube voiced by Jack Quaid, and Rue, an enchanted ribbon guardian voiced by Perlina Lau. Christopher Judge also returns as Kratos.
Santa Monica Studio head of creative Cory Barlog confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 that a new Kratos-led God of War sequel is already in development and will connect directly to the events of Laufey. Barlog described Laufey as “a bridge, not a detour” — everything happening in Faye’s story is setup for what comes next in the main Kratos line.
Beyond those two, the franchise currently has four simultaneous projects in motion: Laufey (February 2027), the untitled Kratos sequel (no date), a God of War Greek Trilogy Remake announced as early in development in February 2026 with TC Carson returning as the voice of Greek-era Kratos, and a God of War live-action series for Amazon Prime Video with Ronald D. Moore as showrunner. That last one has encountered production delays following actor Ryan Hurst’s injury and recast, but remains in development.
God of War Laufey will also notably ship on physical disc — Santa Monica Studio specifically confirmed this. Given Sony’s announcement that it will cease producing physical discs from January 2028, Laufey’s February 2027 launch makes it one of the last major first-party PlayStation exclusives to get a physical release before that era ends.
Is the Atreus Statue Worth $2,299?
The answer to that question depends entirely on what collecting means to you. For context, the market Prime 1 Studio occupies — ultra-high-end limited-edition polystone statues for serious collectors — has its own logic that doesn’t map directly to general consumer value assessments. A 37.8-inch, hand-painted polystone statue limited to 350 units worldwide, with this level of sculpting, swappable components, and the symbolic weight of representing the conclusion of an era in one of PlayStation’s biggest franchises? For the right buyer, $2,299 is a justifiable number.
For everyone else, it is a genuinely beautiful object that represents one of the best father-son stories in gaming history, rendered in a format that will outlast any console generation. Pre-orders are live now through Prime 1 Studio’s website and select retailers. The DX Bonus version is the one to get if you’re going to go for it — the Mask of Creation inclusion and the swappable expression heads make a meaningful difference to the display versatility.
Just remember to budget for shipping a 27kg box across whatever ocean stands between you and Japan. That’s not a small line item.
