Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the GTA 6 price — $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition — and pre-orders are live as of June 25. But there’s one piece of the puzzle that Rockstar conspicuously left out: a Collector’s Edition. And based on a leak from a well-known source in the community, that might not mean one doesn’t exist. It might just mean Rockstar isn’t ready to show it yet.
What Was Actually Leaked About the GTA 6 Collector’s Edition
Portuguese YouTuber Ricfazeres, who has built a solid reputation in the GTA community over the years, briefly mentioned at the end of a recent video that a source had passed him information about a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition priced at €199.99. Converted to US dollars, that puts the price somewhere between $199.99 and $229.99 depending on regional pricing adjustments — though no specific contents were mentioned, and Ricfazeres himself didn’t dwell on it or treat it as a headline.
That last part is actually worth noting. When someone’s actively farming for clicks, they lead with the big number. Ricfazeres basically dropped it at the end and moved on, which is a more credible way to handle unverified information than blasting it everywhere. That’s not a guarantee the info is accurate, but it’s a better sign than most.
This isn’t the only place the Collector’s Edition has come up either. Earlier this week, FNAC Portugal briefly listed multiple GTA 6 SKUs on its website before taking them down. The listings — labelled RS1, RS4, and RS5, which fans interpreted as Rockstar Games placeholder codes — showed three price points: €89.99, €119.99, and €199.99, all with a launch date of November 19, 2026 matching Rockstar’s confirmed release date exactly. A leak that gets the release date right on a placeholder listing carries a bit more weight than one that doesn’t. The listings have since been removed, and neither Rockstar nor FNAC has commented.
Why Would Rockstar Hold Back the Collector’s Edition?
This is the part that genuinely puzzles fans. Rockstar revealed the Standard Edition, the Ultimate Edition, the pre-order bonus Vintage Vice City Pack, and the fact that physical copies ship as a code in a box rather than a disc — all in one go. A Collector’s Edition is the kind of thing you’d normally drop at the same time to get the most coverage. But Rockstar is not most studios.
The GTA franchise has a history of doing things on its own timeline. GTA 6 already broke from industry norms by offering zero paid early access incentives — no paying $10 extra to play three days before anyone else. That alone set it apart from virtually every other major AAA release in recent years. A Collector’s Edition reveal held back for a separate marketing beat would be completely in line with how Rockstar has handled this entire cycle.
For reference, Rockstar released physical Collector’s Editions for both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. The GTA V version came with a Los Santos snapback, a physical city map, and a steelbook case. Red Dead 2’s went even further — treasure map, double-sided puzzle, collectible pins, cigarette cards, and a physical catalogue. Both were physical-only packages, which also lines up with why the Collector’s Edition wouldn’t show up in the same announcement as the digital pre-orders.
Is $200+ for a Collector’s Edition Actually That Wild?
Honestly, not really — and that’s kind of the depressing part of where gaming is right now. Physical Collector’s Editions for major AAA titles have been creeping upward for years. Recent releases have pushed past $250 for their top-tier bundles with statues or larger art books. A $199–$229 price point for a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition would be expensive, but it wouldn’t be shocking given what the game is and what premium physical packages tend to cost in 2026.
What actually matters more than the price is what’s inside. If it’s a steelbook, a small art book, and some in-game currency, that’s hard to justify at $200. If it’s a proper physical collector’s package with a map, a figure, and real collectible items — the kind of thing that holds value for long-term fans — that’s a different conversation. Since no contents have been leaked at all, there’s no way to judge whether the price is reasonable or not yet.

What Rockstar Has Actually Confirmed So Far
To be clear about what’s official: GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Pre-orders opened June 25 at midnight local time. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 — the latter includes exclusive vehicles, weapons, clothing, tattoos, and additional story content woven throughout the campaign. Anyone who pre-orders either edition before November 20 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, which includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan, an Ocean Beach garage, and retro ’80s outfits for both Jason and Lucia.
Rockstar also confirmed that players can upgrade to the Ultimate Edition after launch, so there’s no pressure to commit to the higher tier upfront. PC is coming at a later date with no announced window, following the same post-console pattern Rockstar used with GTA V.
There’s still no Collector’s Edition officially confirmed, and no announcement of a third trailer either — though that’s very much still on the table as part of Rockstar’s stated plan to ramp up marketing through the summer. Rockstar confirmed that the marketing campaign was starting this summer, and kicking off with pricing and pre-orders rather than a trailer was already a curveball. What comes next is anyone’s guess, but a Collector’s Edition reveal at some point before November wouldn’t surprise anyone.
Should You Wait Before Pre-Ordering?
If the Collector’s Edition is real and you’re the kind of person who wants one, it’s worth holding off for now. Rockstar confirmed that Ultimate Edition upgrades can be purchased after launch, and if a Collector’s Edition is announced, it’ll likely be a separate physical product you could add to your order. Pre-ordering the Standard or Ultimate Edition now doesn’t lock you out of anything.
That said, the Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus does require a pre-order or purchase before November 20 — so if you’re planning to buy regardless, locking that in now makes sense. Five months is a long time, but Rockstar has earned enough goodwill at this point that fans seem willing to trust whatever the marketing rollout ends up looking like, even if it means sitting with a few unanswered questions for a while longer.
