Once you reach Environment Level 2 in the Withered Wasteland biome in Pokemon Pokopia, new items appear in the shop and a fresh set of challenges opens up for Life Coins. One of the tasks asks you to build your own house and mark it with a Ditto Flag. This guide walks you through constructing a Leaf Den from scratch, obtaining your first Ditto Flag from Tangrowth, and turning your new home into a permanent fast travel point.

How to Make a House in Pokemon Pokopia
Step 1 – Purchase the Leaf Den Kit
Once you hit Environment Level 2 in the Withered Wasteland, head to the shop at the Pokemon Center PC and purchase the set of three Leaf Den Kits for 50 Life Coins. These kits are the starting point for the entire house-building process in Pokopia.
Step 2 – Place the Kit and Gather Materials
Find a good open spot anywhere in the area — as long as there is enough space, the exact location does not matter much. Place the Leaf Den Kit down, then interact with it to see the full list of materials required.
For this type of home, you will need:
- 3 Sturdy Sticks — found lying all over the ground throughout the area
- 3 Leaves — obtained by using the Cut move on Tall Grass
If you haven’t unlocked Cut yet, you’ll need to befriend Scyther first. You can also refer to our how to get Leaves in Pokemon Pokopia guide for more detail on collecting them efficiently.
Step 3 – Bring a Pokemon with the Build Specialty
To actually construct the home, you need a Pokemon with the Build specialty. The Pokemon you’re looking for is Timburr. Press the up button on the directional pad to make Timburr follow you, then lead it back to the Leaf Den.
Note: Depending on your playthrough, the game may also ask you to bring Scyther to assist with construction. Simply repeat the same process — have Scyther follow you and bring it to the den as well.
If you haven’t found Timburr yet, you’ll need to grow Tall Grass near a large boulder to create the Boulder-Shaded Tall Grass habitat, which is what attracts Timburr to your area.
Step 4 – Add Pokemon and Wait
Interact with the Leaf Den and add both Pokemon to the build list. Once they are assigned, the construction timer begins. You will need to wait approximately 15 real-world minutes for the process to complete.
While waiting, this is a great time to gather resources, complete other requests, or work on raising your Trainer Rank.
Step 5 – Add Furniture
Once construction finishes, speak to Timburr. It will tell you that the home needs at least 3 pieces of furniture before it’s ready. You can buy furniture from the Pokemon Center PC shop or craft items at a workbench. For crafting options, take a look at our how to get Dolls in Pokemon Pokopia guide, as decorative items count toward your furniture total.

How to Get a Ditto Flag in Pokemon Pokopia
Once the Leaf Den is built and furnished, you still won’t be able to use the Return to Home option in the menu. That’s because the final step requires placing a Ditto Flag on top of the den to officially register it as your home.
Here’s how to get your first Ditto Flag:
- Progress the main storyline until Charmander appears and expresses a desire to celebrate your new home.
- Make Charmander follow you by pressing the up button on the directional pad, then lead it to Professor Tangrowth.
- After a brief conversation between Charmander and Tangrowth, Tangrowth will give you one Ditto Flag.
- Stand outside your Leaf Den, open your pocket (inventory), grab the Ditto Flag, and place it on top of the home.
The moment you place the flag, the den is officially registered as your home and the Return to Home fast travel option becomes active in the menu.
Bonus: Placing the Ditto Flag for the first time also unlocks the crafting recipe for it, so you can make more flags for future houses you build across different areas of Pokopia.

How to Craft More Ditto Flags in Pokemon Pokopia
Once you have the recipe, you can craft additional Ditto Flags at any workbench. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 Sturdy Stick
- 1 Twine
- 1 Leppa Berry
This is especially useful later in the game when you start building homes in other biomes. Sticks are easy to find on the ground, while Twine and Leppa Berries can be gathered through foraging and farming. How to Get a Pokemon to Move In With You in Pokemon Pokopia
Your Leaf Den isn’t just a fast travel point — it also allows you to invite one Pokemon to live with you, which increases their comfort level faster than leaving them in a regular habitat.
To get a Pokemon to move in:
- Find the Pokemon you want as a roommate anywhere in the area.
- Press the up button on the directional pad to make it follow you.
- Lead it close to your Leaf Den.
- Speak to the Pokemon while near the home and select the option to ask them to move in.
That’s all it takes. Having a permanent roommate is a great way to build friendship quickly, which can unlock new interactions and requests over time. You can learn more about the character customisation options available as you progress, and check out our guide on how to get Rock Smash in Pokemon Pokopia if you haven’t unlocked that essential move yet.
