So far, that lineup includes a Badtz-Maru bowling alley, a Keroppi bus stop, a Hello Kitty Dream Cafe, a My Melody music shop, a Kuromi haunted house, a Keroppi mart, a Tuxedo Sam pizza parlor, and a Hello Kitty and Friends burger joint. It’s unlikely LEGO would copy these exact sets one-for-one, but the general format, one or two minifigures paired with a colorful, character-themed building, feels like exactly the kind of approach LEGO could realistically take.

Since BLDR already covers a handful of fan favorites, there’s a real chance LEGO focuses on characters who haven’t gotten their own dedicated set yet. Back in 2022, a Sanrio-themed concept from creator Bulldoozer racked up the 10,000 supporter threshold needed for an official review, but ultimately didn’t get selected for production. What’s interesting is how closely that rejected concept lines up with what eventually became Jazwares’ BLDR lineup, the cafe, the Keroppi mini-mart, and the bowling alley all appear to share design DNA with Bulldoozer’s original pitch, suggesting there may have been some behind-the-scenes inspiration happening there.
Since that fan design used accurate minifigure proportions rather than oversized buildable characters, it could end up being a surprisingly reliable preview of what LEGO’s actual Hello Kitty minifigures end up looking like. A separate fan mockup from creator Minibrick41587 also exists showing a large-scale buildable Hello Kitty figure, but given how poorly that approach landed with LEGO’s Pokemon line, and ongoing fan frustration with LEGO’s Smart Bricks initiative, the smaller minifigure-and-building format seems like the safer bet for LEGO to take here.
What Fans Are Hoping For (And What They Want To Avoid)
If there’s one thing the community seems to agree on, it’s that nobody wants a repeat of the Pokemon controversy. The general consensus points toward LEGO Animal Crossing as a much better comparison point, smaller, characterful sets built around specific themes and characters, rather than oversized buildable figures that prioritize scale over charm.
