What Is Mysty?
Mysty is a small shapeshifting anomaly that lives in the Hethereau streets. It can transform into everyday objects – phone booths, AC units, plush toys, street poles, and even wall posters. The whole quest is built around finding it each time it hides by looking for something that looks slightly out of place in the environment. The objects it disguises as are always a little wrong – upside down, oddly sized, or just weirdly positioned compared to the things around them.
Every time you find Mysty, you need to either attack it or interact with it to break the disguise. It will pop out, have a quick chat with you, and then vanish again with a new clue about where it has gone.
How To Start the Quest
The quest becomes available as soon as you finish Prologue I and have open access to the city. Head to Moomin Street in the Bridge Crossings district – it sits at the border between Bridge Crossing and Unheard Shores. You will see a blue exclamation mark on the map labeled “Flipped Phone Booth?” pointing you to the location.
To track it, open the menu, go to the second page on the right, and select Quests. Find it under the Side Missions tab, highlight it, and press Triangle on PS5 or Y on Xbox to activate the quest marker. This makes all objective markers visible on your map throughout the quest.

Step 1 – Find and Hit the Upside-Down Phone Booth
When you arrive at the marked area on Moomin Street, you will spot a bright red phone booth sitting completely upside down in the middle of the road. It is hard to miss – it is literally flipped over with the base pointing up.
Walk up and interact with it. Your character will comment that just knocking on it is not doing anything. You need more force. Hit it with a basic attack using any weapon. This breaks the disguise and Mysty pops out, revealing itself as a small robotic anomaly creature. Talk to Mysty to learn what it is doing here – it wants to play hide and seek.
After the conversation, Mysty vanishes and leaves you a clue: “Bzzz.”
Step 2 – Find Mysty: Bzzz Clue (AC Unit on the Wall)
The “Bzzz” clue refers to something that makes a buzzing sound. Mysty is hiding as an air conditioning unit.

From the upside-down phone booth, turn around and head down the nearby stairs facing east. At the bottom of the stairs, look to the right side of the building. You will see AC units mounted on the wall. One of them has a small smiley face on it – that is the one Mysty is hiding as.
Strike it with a basic attack to force Mysty out. Talk to it again. It laughs, gives you the next clue – “Waka” – and disappears again.

Step 3 – Find Mysty: Waka Clue (Upside-Down Plush in the DSD Shop)
The “Waka” clue points to the DSD toy shop (also referred to as the DSD POP store or arcade). Head back up the stairs and go northwest toward the shop across the street.

Go inside. You will see a display of WakaWaka AnoAnomaly toys. Look for an upside-down Black Fluffy Plush sitting on top of a yellow crate. It is the one that looks slightly different from the others – positioned wrong compared to everything around it.
Poke or interact with the plush twice to reveal Mysty hiding inside. After the second poke, Mysty bursts out and runs away again, this time heading outside the shop.

Step 4 – Find Mysty: Disguise Step (Oversized Black and Yellow Bollard Outside)
Exit the DSD shop and look immediately to the right. You will see a group of small black-and-yellow bollards (road posts) lined up along the sidewalk near the zebra crossing.
Most of them are the same small size. But one of them is noticeably taller and larger than the rest. That size difference is the tell. The oversized bollard is Mysty.
Hit or attack the big bollard to reveal Mysty once more. Talk to it. It gives you its final clue: “Crunch Crunch.”
Step 5 – Find Mysty: Crunch Crunch Clue (Green Poster on the Wall)
The “Crunch Crunch” clue hints at something flat and papery – like a snack wrapper or a crispy bag. Mysty has gone back to where the quest first started.
Return to the area near the upside-down phone booth at the beginning of the quest. Look at the nearby wall. You will find a green poster advertising a snack called “Crave Bites” (Crave Bites Canned Variety Nuts). Two NPCs are usually standing near it, which can help you spot the right spot. If you look closely at the poster, you will notice a tiny smile drawn on it – that is Mysty peeking through.
Interact with the poster and slap it to break Mysty’s final disguise. Mysty pops out one last time for a final conversation. The quest wraps up with some short dialogue and all your rewards are delivered immediately.

Tips for This Quest
- You do not need a specific character. There is no combat in this quest at all. The only attacks you make are basic hits to break Mysty’s disguise. Any character in your roster will do just fine.
- Track the quest for map markers. Even though the hiding spots can be tricky, activating the quest tracker in the menu puts a search area marker on your map for each step. If you are lost, the marker narrows down the right zone to search in.
- Look for what is out of place. Mysty always disguises as something that looks a little wrong – upside down, oddly sized, or in a weird position compared to its surroundings. Train your eye to spot the environmental inconsistency rather than looking for something obvious.
- The poster has a tiny smile on it. The green Crave Bites poster in the final step has a small smiley face drawn on it as a subtle hint. Look for it if you are scanning the wall and not sure which poster is the right one.
- Two NPCs stand near the final poster. If you cannot find the Crave Bites poster immediately, look for two NPCs standing together near a wall close to the original phone booth location. The poster is right there.
- Wertheimer Towers help. Activating the Wertheimer Tower in Bridge Crossings before you start this quest reveals side quest markers across the area, making it easier to locate the Flipped Phone Booth and other early quests on the map.
