Sony has dropped the full PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for September 2026, and honestly it’s a pretty decent month. You’ve got something for just about every kind of player — from a survival co-op RPG making its console debut, to a wrestling game stuffed with legends, to one of the most underrated indie gems of the past couple of years. Let’s break down everything that’s landing this month and when you can actually get your hands on it.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium — September 2026 Game Catalog

RuneScape: Dragonwilds (PS5) — Available Globally September 15

This is a big one. RuneScape: Dragonwilds is making its console debut on PS5 this month, and it marks the first time in over 25 years that the RuneScape franchise has landed on a home console. Developed by Jagex, Dragonwilds is a co-op survival crafting game set on the forgotten continent of Ashenfall — a brand new location in the RuneScape universe. Dragons have awoken, and it’s up to you and up to three friends to survive, build, master magic, and ultimately take down the Dragon Queen.

The game already sold over a million copies during its Steam Early Access run, so it arrives on PS5 with a solid reputation behind it. Think gathering, crafting, levelling skills, running quests, and battling classic RuneScape creatures like Zogres and Black Knights — plus new ones like the Garou. If you’ve ever been a RuneScape fan or just love the survival crafting genre, this one is worth jumping into immediately. And since it’s day-one on PS Plus Extra and Premium, there’s no reason not to.

    WWE 2K26 (PS5) — Available Globally September 15

WWE 2K26 is the headline name this month and the biggest mainstream draw of the bunch. The latest entry in 2K’s wrestling series is loaded — we’re talking over 400 playable WWE Superstars and Legends packed into one game. The Rock, Triple H, John Cena, Rhea Ripley, Rey Fénix, Rusev, and plenty more are all in the roster. The Showcase mode this year revolves around CM Punk’s career, reimagining a world where The Voice of the Voiceless never left, complete with fantasy historical scenarios and his greatest rivalries. If you’ve been curious about dipping back into wrestling games, September 15 is your moment.

Ball x Pit (PS5) — September 15 Globally, September 22 in the US, UK and Japan

Ball x Pit is the wildcard of the month. If you’re in the US, UK, or Japan you’ll be waiting a bit longer — your access date is September 22. Everyone else gets it September 15. Keep an eye on this one if you’re into arcade-style games that don’t take themselves too seriously.

Date Everything! (PS5) — September 9 in the US and UK, September 10 in Japan, September 15 Elsewhere

Date Everything! is the earliest unlock of the month for US and UK subscribers — it’s already available as of September 9. This indie romance sim has a genuinely unhinged premise: you lose your job to AI and receive a mysterious gift of magical glasses called “Dateviators,” which make everything in your house sentient and dateable. Your kettle. Your couch. Your front door. Each object has its own story, personality, and relationship arc. The voice cast is stacked. If you’re into quirky, narrative-driven indie games with a lot of personality, this one is absolutely worth a try.

Slitterhead (PS4, PS5) — September 15 Globally, September 22 in the US, UK and Japan

Slitterhead is a dark, suspenseful action-horror adventure from Keiichiro Toyama — the creator of Silent Hill and Gravity Rush. Set in a neon-lit 1990s Hong Kong, the game has a distinct atmosphere and some genuinely unsettling creature design. US, UK, and Japan players will have to wait until September 22. If horror-adjacent action games are your thing, this is the one to look out for.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (PS4, PS5) — September 15 Globally, September 29 in the US, UK and Japan

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a 2D side-scrolling entry in the legendary action franchise, brought to life with tight combat and classic ninja energy. US, UK, and Japan subscribers are waiting the longest on this one — September 29. But if you’re a fan of the series or just love punishing, fast-paced 2D action games, it’ll be worth the wait.

Dungeons of Hinterberg (PS4, PS5) — September 15 Globally, September 29 in the US, UK and Japan

Genuinely one of the best indie games of recent years, and an easy contender for the hidden gem of this month’s catalog. Dungeons of Hinterberg was developed by Microbird Games — an Austrian indie studio — and it’s exactly as weird and wonderful as its premise sounds.

You play as Luisa, a burnt-out young lawyer from Vienna who escapes to a fictional mountain town in the Austrian Alps called Hinterberg. Here’s the twist: magical portals have opened up around the town, creating dungeons full of creatures to fight. The locals have leaned into this, turning it into a full-blown tourist attraction. Your days are split between dungeon crawling — which mixes Zelda-style puzzles with action combat — and spending the evenings building relationships with the locals and other visiting slayers.

It’s part dungeon crawler, part social sim, part commentary on burnout and the tourism economy. The cel-shaded art style is gorgeous, the writing is sharp and funny, and the whole thing runs about 25 hours. Think of it as Zelda dungeons meets Animal Crossing afternoons, wrapped in a beautiful Austrian mountain setting. If you haven’t played this yet, September is your chance — and this is the one to drop everything for if you only have time for one game this month.

Sniper Elite: Resistance (PS4, PS5) — September 15 Globally, September 29 in the US, UK and Japan

Sniper Elite: Resistance rounds out the Extra and Premium lineup. The long-running Rebellion franchise continues its signature blend of stealth, long-range sharpshooting, and satisfying X-ray kill cams in a new World War II-set adventure. If you’ve played previous entries and enjoyed them, this one delivers more of what you love. US, UK, and Japan players are on the September 29 schedule alongside Hinterberg and Ragebound.

PlayStation Plus Premium — Classics Catalog

Premium subscribers get two Classics Catalog additions this month, both landing globally on September 15.

    Mega Man X Command Mission (PS4, PS5) — Available Globally September 15

A proper retro treat. Mega Man X Command Mission is a turn-based RPG spin-off from the Mega Man X series, originally released back in 2004. It’s a very different beast from the classic action platformers — built around strategic party combat and a full JRPG structure. If you’ve been curious about this one or want to revisit it with fresh eyes, Premium is the place to do it.

Metro Redux (PS4) — Available Globally September 15

Metro Redux is the definitive bundle of Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux — two of the best atmospheric post-apocalyptic shooters ever made. Set in the tunnels beneath a devastated Moscow, both games blend survival horror, stealth, and intense gunplay with a genuinely gripping story. If you’ve never touched the Metro series, this is one of the best possible entry points.

When Do the Games Unlock? — Dates at a Glance

    • September 9 — Date Everything! (US and UK)
    • September 10 — Date Everything! (Japan)
    • September 15 — RuneScape: Dragonwilds, WWE 2K26, Ball x Pit, Date Everything! (rest of world), Slitterhead, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Dungeons of Hinterberg, Sniper Elite: Resistance, Mega Man X Command Mission, Metro Redux
    • September 22 — Ball x Pit, Slitterhead (US, UK, Japan)
    • September 29 — Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Dungeons of Hinterberg, Sniper Elite: Resistance (US, UK, Japan)

Sony continues to experiment with staggered release dates across regions, so if you’re in the US, UK, or Japan, a few titles are going to take a bit longer to land. The full lineup is available in all other regions from September 15 onward.

Is September 2026 a Good Month for PS Plus?

Honestly? Yeah. WWE 2K26 alone justifies the catalog addition for wrestling fans, RuneScape: Dragonwilds is a major console debut that survival game lovers will get serious mileage out of, and Dungeons of Hinterberg is a legitimately great game that deserved way more mainstream attention when it first launched. Throw in Slitterhead, Metro Redux, and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound and you’ve got a lineup with genuine variety across genres.

While you’re waiting on your PS Plus games to unlock, there’s plenty of other gaming news worth catching up on. Valheim 1.0 just dropped out of early access with a massive Deep North update and a Steam player count surge to match. On the Switch 2 side, Metroid Ravenous is shaping up as one of 2027’s most exciting exclusives, while NEXT: The Portopia Serial Murder Case might be the most unexpected announcement of the year. And if horror is your thing, Onyx: The Dark Grip from Bloober Team is one to bookmark for the coming months.
