Antique Coins are Grace Ashcroft’s primary upgrade currency in Resident Evil Requiem, scattered across every corner of the Rhodes Hill Care Center. Trade them in at the Parlor for permanent upgrades to her inventory, health, weapon handling, and blood collector capacity — four prizes that make the rest of the game significantly more manageable. You only need 17 coins to buy every Parlor upgrade, but there are 21 total to find on Casual and Standard difficulty. Miss the window to spend them and they’re gone until your next playthrough.
This guide covers every single Antique Coin location in the Care Center, all four Parlor prizes, how to unlock the Parlor itself, what to buy first, and how things change on Insanity difficulty.

How to Unlock the Parlor (The Unicorn Door) in RE9
Before you can spend a single coin, you need to open the Parlor on the 1F West Wing. The door is sealed with a unicorn-shaped indentation and requires a Red Jewel to open. Here’s how to get it:
- Make your way through the West Wing to the 2F Chairman’s Office
- Find the Unicorn Trinket Box on the left side of the room near the entrance
- Examine the box and press the hidden button on the back to open it — the Red Jewel is inside
- Return to the unicorn door on the 1F and insert the Red Jewel into the indentation
The Parlor door swings open. Inside, you’ll find the East Wing Keycard on a table, the Parlor’s reward cabinets along the left wall, a blackjack table, a roulette wheel, and two Antique Coins right there in the room. For full details on the Chairman’s Office visit, see our Chairman’s Office Puzzle Box guide.
Important: Once you open the Parlor, the Zombie Chef and additional infected begin patrolling the West Wing. Stock up on Hemolytic Injectors before heading back if you haven’t dealt with the chef yet. If you want that extra loot in the Kitchen’s locked Pantry too, check out our Pantry guide while you’re in that area.
All 4 Parlor Prizes – What They Cost and What They Do
The Parlor has four separate reward cabinets. Here’s everything available and how much each costs on Standard/Casual difficulty:
| Prize | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Hip Pouch | 3 Antique Coins | +2 inventory slots for Grace |
| Override Manual | 4 Antique Coins | +50 max blood collector capacity |
| Stabilizer | 4 Antique Coins | Improved weapon handling and increased gun damage |
| Steroids | 6 Antique Coins | Increased maximum health |
| Total | 17 Antique Coins | All four upgrades |
What to buy first: Get the Hip Pouch immediately. Grace starts with a very limited inventory, and two extra slots make a meaningful difference from the moment you equip it. Next, grab the Override Manual — higher blood collector capacity unlocks crafting for advanced items, including extra Requiem handgun ammo. After that, pick up the Stabilizer for better aim and damage output, then finish with Steroids for the health increase.
All Antique Coin Locations (Casual & Standard Difficulty)
There are 21 Antique Coins in total across the Care Center on Casual and Standard difficulty. All are exclusive to Grace’s gameplay sections — Leon cannot collect them, though any coins Leon picks up during his segments are passed to Grace’s inventory when you switch back. Here’s every location organized by area.
Ground Floor (1F) — West Wing & Central Hall
Coin #1 —

Guard Office (Central Hall) On the desk inside the Guard Office save room, to the right of the door as you enter. This is the first save room you’ll encounter after meeting Leon for the first time.
Coin #2 —

West Wing Northwest Corridor In the hallway heading west past the Filing Room toward Cold Storage. Found on a table in the corner just before a staircase. Easy to spot on your way through.
Coin #3 —

Bar & Lounge (Piano) On top of the piano in the center of the Bar & Lounge on 2F West Wing. Be cautious — three infected are patrolling this room.
Coin #4 —

Bar & Lounge (Singer Zombie drop) Dropped by the Singer zombie in the Bar & Lounge. She wears a white dress and is tougher than standard infected. She’ll occasionally scream to disorient you. Take her down and loot the coin from her body.
Coins #5, #6, #7 —

Bar & Lounge Safe The safe behind the bar in the Bar & Lounge contains 3 Antique Coins. The combination on Standard difficulty is Left 10, Right 80, Left 30. See our Bar Lounge Safe Code guide for full details.
The Parlor (1F West Wing)
Coin #8 — Parlor (Blackjack Table) On the middle blackjack table in the Parlor room. Sitting in plain sight once you walk in.

Coin #9 — Parlor (Bar Counter) On the bar at the back right of the Parlor, next to the beer taps.

Coin #10 — Parlor (Green Vase) Inside a small green vase on the bar counter in the Parlor, just to the right of Coin #9. Use a knife to smash the vase rather than wasting a bullet — the coin is hidden inside.

Ground Floor (1F) — East Wing
Coin #11 — Nurse’s Station On top of a locker in the Nurse’s Station in the East Wing. You’ll need to climb on top of a nearby tray to reach it. Note that The Girl enemy is actively hunting Grace during this part of the building, so move quickly and quietly.
Coin #12 — East Wing Stairwell (Ground Floor) In the stairwell to the east, below the Lead Researcher’s Office. Found on the table between two brown couches on the ground floor level. Don’t go upstairs — the coin is at the bottom.
Coins #13, #14 — Waiting Room Open Safe In the Waiting Room in the East Wing, there’s already an open safe in the bottom-left corner behind the counter. It holds 2 Antique Coins — no combination needed, just walk up and grab them.

Coin #15 — Waiting Room Table Near the entrance of the Waiting Room, on a small table on the opposite side of the room from the open safe. Easy to grab on your first pass through.
Coin #16 — Outside Waiting Room (Table) In the corridor just outside the Waiting Room, before the staircase going up. Found on a table between two couches. Grab it before heading to the upper floors.

Coin #17 — Outside Waiting Room (White Vase) Right next to Coin #16, inside a white vase on the same table or surface. Smash the vase with your knife to reveal it. Don’t miss this one — it blends into the environment easily.

Coins #18, #19, #20 — Examination Room Safe The safe in the Examination Room in the East Wing holds 3 Antique Coins. The combination on Standard difficulty is Right 30, Left 10, Right 50. You’ll need the East Wing Keycard to access this room — see our East Wing Keycard guide if you haven’t picked it up yet. Full code details in our Examination Room Safe Code guide.
Second Floor (2F) — Conference Room
Coin #21 (2F) — Conference Room (Counter) On a counter near the entrance doorway of the Conference Room. Straightforward to spot when you enter.
Coin #22 (2F) — Conference Room (Singer Zombie drop) Another Singer zombie patrols the Conference Room, this time in a turquoise dress. Kill her and collect the coin she drops. Use the same strategy as the Bar & Lounge Singer — aim for the head and be ready for her scream.
Care Center Basement
The Basement itself doesn’t contain Antique Coins directly on the floor, but the Basement safe is worth mentioning here because opening it gives you the Raccoon Roundup Map for Rhodes Hill — which automatically marks every Mr. Raccoon Memoriam statue on your map, massively helping with the broader collectible hunt. The basement safe combination on Standard difficulty is Right 60, Left 40, Right 80. Full details in our Basement Safe Code guide.
Courtyard (Point of No Return)
Coin #Final — Courtyard Chair After collecting all three Quartz items and opening the Central Hall door, you’ll descend the round staircase into the Courtyard. Turn around immediately after reaching the bottom and look at the patio chairs under the staircase. The final Antique Coin is sitting on one of the armchairs on the western side.
This coin is intentionally placed as a last-chance reminder: if you’re standing here, you’re at the hard point of no return. Once you walk through the Courtyard gates, Grace cannot return to the Care Center. Make absolutely certain you’ve opened every safe, visited the Parlor, and purchased all four upgrades before leaving.

Insanity Difficulty – Antique Coin Locations Change
If you’re on your second or third playthrough tackling Insanity Mode, be aware that coin locations are completely different compared to Casual and Standard. On Insanity, most coins are dropped by enemies rather than placed in the environment, and you’ll need 19 coins to purchase all Parlor prizes (which are also different on this difficulty). The Parlor on Insanity Mode offers the R.I.P. Knife (5 Antique Coins) as a unique reward not available on other difficulties — a powerful melee option worth chasing on repeat runs.
Don’t Miss These Warped Closets Nearby
While you’re hunting Antique Coins through the Care Center, keep an eye out for Warped Closets along the way. These jammed wooden cabinets require a Hatchet or specific tool to pry open and often hide charms, crafting items, and other valuable loot that complements your Parlor upgrades. Our guide on how to break open Warped Closets in RE9 covers everything you need.
How Long Does It Take to Collect All Coins?
A focused player hunting all 21 Antique Coins on their first run should be able to grab them across natural story progression without significant backtracking — most coins are placed along the main route through the Care Center. If you’re curious how this fits into the overall game length, our Resident Evil Requiem: How Long Does It Take to Beat RE9 guide breaks down pacing across every playstyle.
