Saros Trophy Overview

Saros has a total of 45 trophies. Here’s the breakdown:

  • 1 Platinum — Mastered Carcosa
  • 2 Gold
  • 16 Silver
  • 26 Bronze

That’s seven more trophies than Returnal, which only had 38. The good news is the Saros Platinum is far more forgiving. There are no luck-based collectible trophies like Returnal’s infamous Past the Ruins. Most of what you need will come naturally as you play through the game.

Key facts to know before you start:

  • No missable trophies — You can clean up everything after finishing the story
  • No online trophies — Everything is solo
  • No difficulty-related trophies — Saros has no traditional difficulty modes
  • Carcosan Modifiers don’t lock trophies — You can use Protection buffs freely
  • No manual saves — The game autosaves regularly as a roguelite

Saros Platinum Trophy: Mastered Carcosa

The Platinum trophy is called Mastered Carcosa. To earn it, you simply need every other trophy in the game. There are no additional secret steps. Get all 44 trophies and the Platinum is yours.

Estimated time to Platinum: 20 to 45 hours, depending on how familiar you are with roguelikes and how quickly you master the combat systems.

Best Order to Get the Saros Platinum

Follow this four-step route to earn the Platinum as efficiently as possible.

Step 1: Defeat the First Two Overlords

Work through Biome 1 and Biome 2. Defeat Prophet and Bastion. This unlocks Carcosan Modifiers. Once unlocked, enable Protection Modifiers straight away. They make the game easier and do not disable any trophies.

Step 2: Push Through the Full Story

Play through all eight biomes and defeat every Overlord. All eight boss trophies, the three act-completion trophies, and the epilogue trophy unlock through natural story progression. Don’t stress about specific trophies during this phase. Just focus on learning the combat, building your Armor Matrix, and surviving.

Step 3: Complete Nightmare Gates and Remaining Challenges

After the credits, you’ll return to the Passage with a new objective: Face Tomorrow. Follow it to complete the epilogue. From this point, all biomes are open for free exploration. Now tackle the Nightmare Gates and any combat trophies you’re still missing.

Step 4: Clean Up Miscellaneous Trophies

Use multiple biome runs to clean up weapon kills, shield absorptions, and any remaining combat challenges. Check the Databank regularly to track weapon kill counts.

All Saros Bosses: Every Overlord in Order

There are 9 boss encounters in Saros. The first — the Consort — is a tutorial boss and doesn’t count as a biome Overlord. The remaining 8 each award a separate trophy when defeated.

Boss 1 — Prophet (Shattered Rise)

Prophet has 3 health bars. You cannot deal damage until you expose its weakspot by destroying the yellow glowing plants on the sides of the arena. Once exposed, absorb the blue projectile barrages with your Shield to charge your Power Weapon, then unload on the central weakspot. Dodge the corrupted yellow waves. In Phase 3, vine walls close in and reduce your movement space. Keep the same strategy.

Boss 2 — Bastion (Ancient Depths)

Bastion also has 3 health bars but has no weakspot mechanic. You can deal damage from the start. Between each health bar, it retreats and sends in waves of bots. Kill all the bots before the boss returns. Use your Power Weapon constantly throughout the fight.

Boss 3 — Rhabdom (Shattered Descent)

Rhabdom is the easiest boss in the game. It has only one health bar and takes a few seconds before attacking after spawning. Trigger your Overdrive immediately when the fight starts and chain Power Moves to bring it down to around 50% before it can even respond. Stay at range for the rest of the fight. Use the jump pads on both sides to avoid its wide AoE barrages.

Boss 4 — Legion (Blighted Marsh)

Legion is a swarm of flying enemies surrounding a single bright red core. Only the core takes damage, so always aim at the centre. It uses red Nova projectiles heavily. Once you unlock the Parry ability, deflect these red projectiles back at it. This is one of the most effective strategies for this fight.

Boss 5 — Architect (Desecrated Fortress)

Architect is a large flying monster with 3 health bars. It alternates between hovering and doing strafing runs across the arena. It uses blue, yellow, and red projectiles in combination. Auto-hit weapons like Handcannons and Rifles work best here because the boss is often moving. Avoid Shotguns for this fight as most of the encounter is at distance.

Boss 6 — Shepherd (Acolyte’s Haven)

Shepherd is a mid-game Overlord with multiple health bars. Learn its attack patterns before committing a run. Use Protection Modifiers if you’re struggling.

Boss 7 — Priestess (Cathedral)

Priestess is a late-game boss with high damage output. By this stage you should have strong permanent upgrades. Focus on learning when safe damage windows open and prioritise dodging over offense when unsure.

Boss 8 — King (Yellow Shore)

King is the final Overlord and the most challenging fight in the game. It is linked to three separate trophies. After the credits roll, complete the epilogue objective Face Tomorrow and return to the King for the final encounter. This time, after defeating it, go through the gate instead of interacting with the boss to trigger the epilogue ending.

Nightmare Gates: How They Work

Nightmare Gates are tough optional challenges found in biomes. On your map, they appear as a skull icon with an exclamation mark. In the world, they look like two hands rising out of the ground with a gateway between them.

You need to enter and complete all 7 Nightmare Gates for the Gold trophy Nightmare Strands. This is one of the most time-consuming trophies but it becomes much easier once your permanent upgrades are strong.

Completing Nightmare Gates also rewards Halcyon and Integrity Augments, both of which help with other trophies like Eclipse’s Gift and Reinforced Carapace. So don’t skip them.

Note: Sometimes a Nightmare Strand on your map will be powered down with no active gate. This is normal. Return in a different run and it may be active.

Hardest Trophies in Saros Explained

Untouchable

Complete an entire biome without taking direct, non-Corruption damage and without losing Adrenaline. This is the hardest non-story trophy in the game. The best advice: use Biome 3 (Shattered Descent). Rhabdom has a short one-phase fight and the biome itself is compact. Practice the layout until enemy patterns are second nature before attempting this one.

Vincible

Complete a biome without using your Shield at all. This removes your primary defensive tool and forces you to rely on dashing and positioning alone. Again, Biome 3 is the recommended spot. Run it without touching the Shield button for the entire biome including the boss fight.

Full Arsenal

Unlock every Main and Power Weapon and defeat 25 enemies with each. This is a significant grind. Don’t wait until the end to focus on it. Start tracking weapon usage early. Check the Databank regularly after each run to see which weapons are lagging behind. If you ignore a weapon category for too long, you’ll need dedicated cleanup runs.

Nightmare Strands

Enter and complete all 7 Nightmare Gates. These are hard optional encounters that reward strong loot. They become more manageable with late-game upgrades. Don’t attempt them too early without solid Armor Matrix unlocks in place.

Spread the Cost

Land 7 perfect Shotgun blasts with full pellet accuracy in a single run. This is tricky because it requires all pellets from each shot to hit the same target. Get close to enemies before firing. Many players report this one being buggy, so fight large enemies at point-blank range and be patient.

OverDriven

Kill 30 enemies using Overdrive in a single cycle. Start in Biome 1, use your Prominence weapon to charge Overdrive quickly, then look for dense enemy groups and activate it. You should reach 30 kills before finishing Biome 2.

Passive Trophies: Let Them Accumulate

Some trophies build up naturally over time without any extra effort. Don’t grind specifically for these. Just play and they’ll come.

  • Bullet Paradise — 1,995 enemy kills. Comes naturally across multiple runs.
  • Break the Cycle — 2,021 absorbed projectiles. Your Shield absorbs constantly, so this builds up on its own.
  • Eclipse’s Gift — 70 Halcyon collected total. Collect from red containers and Nightmare Gates.
  • Carcosan Cartographer — 33 expeditions completed with Carcosan Modifiers active. Enable them early and this builds through normal play.
  • Come Back Stronger — Die once. Almost certainly the first trophy you’ll unlock.

Useful Tips for Getting the Saros Platinum

  • Enable Protection Modifiers as soon as they unlock. They don’t block any trophies and they make the game much more manageable.
  • Prioritise Second Chance in the Armor Matrix early. Auto-revive on death is a game changer in longer runs.
  • Check the Databank after every few runs. Track your weapon kill percentages so Full Arsenal doesn’t catch you off guard late in the game.
  • Use Biome 3 for skill-check trophies. Rhabdom’s short fight and the biome’s compact layout make it the best spot for Untouchable, Vincible, and Spread the Cost.
  • Don’t save Overdrive for difficult moments. In runs where you’re grinding OverDriven, activate it the moment you see a large group of enemies.
  • Collect Halcyon every run. Don’t skip red containers. Getting to 70 total takes time and you’ll also need Halcyon to unlock key Armor Matrix nodes.
  • Play the epilogue before cleaning up. After the credits, follow the Face Tomorrow objective. This triggers a second fight with the King and unlocks important trophies including Let Go.

Final Thoughts

Saros is a well-designed game for trophy hunters. The list is challenging but fair. Nothing is missable. Nothing is locked behind random drops or online play. The Platinum is accessible to any player willing to invest time in learning Carcosa.

Use Protection Modifiers early, build your Armor Matrix steadily, track your weapon kills, and save the toughest biome challenges for when you’re comfortable with the controls. The Platinum will come.
