For ATK-scaling carries like Vesna, however, the 2-piece contributes meaningfully to personal damage — a relevant distinction when choosing between Scarlet Proof and EM-focused alternatives depending on which character you are building.

4-Piece Bonus: CRIT Rate + Stellar Swirl DMG

After the equipping character triggers a Stellar Swirl reaction, their CRIT Rate is increased by 16% and their Stellar Swirl reaction DMG is increased by 40% for 10 seconds.

The 16% CRIT Rate from the 4-piece is equivalent to roughly one full CRIT Rate Circlet’s worth of CRIT Rate — a significant quality-of-life improvement for artifact building. This frees your Circlet slot for CRIT DMG and changes what substats you need, allowing more flexible stat investment toward CRIT DMG and ATK rather than stacking CRIT Rate across substats. The 40% Stellar Swirl DMG increase directly amplifies both the reaction itself and Direct Stellar Swirl damage dealt by character Talents — which is especially valuable for Vesna, whose Spirit Blade hits count as Stellar Swirl reaction damage.

Critical Trigger Requirements

Scarlet Proof has two important mechanical constraints that determine which characters can use it effectively. Understanding both is essential before investing Resin.

Requirement 1: Must Be an Anemo Character

The effect can only be triggered if the wearer is an Anemo character, as triggering Stellar Swirl only counts as applying Anemo on an existing Cryo aura. Cryo characters dealing Direct Stellar Swirl damage from their Talents cannot trigger the set.

This is the most important distinction between Scarlet Proof and Heart of the Furnace. A Cryo character like Odette or Cryo Traveler who participates in Stellar Swirl damage cannot activate this set’s 4-piece — the trigger belongs exclusively to the Anemo unit applying Anemo onto a Cryo-aura enemy. Both Mizuki and Vesna qualify, as both are Anemo characters who trigger Stellar Swirl on-field.

Requirement 2: Must Trigger On-Field

The effect can only be triggered while on-field. However, the buffs last for 10 seconds on the wearer even if they leave the field afterwards. This means the Anemo carry needs an on-field window to trigger at least one Stellar Swirl before swapping. Once triggered, the 16% CRIT Rate and 40% Stellar Swirl DMG buff persist for 10 seconds regardless of whether the character remains active — making it compatible with hybrid on/off-field Anemo DPS rotations as long as the trigger happens before swapping. For Vesna, whose signature weapon Beyond the Chrysalis also resets if she leaves the field, staying on-field is doubly important.

Requirement 3: Needs a Stellar Linchpin Enabler

Standard Cryo Swirl does not become Stellar Swirl automatically. If your team cannot convert Swirl into its Stellar version, Scarlet Proof is dead stats — that conversion requires a Stellar Linchpin character in the party. As of Version 7.1, four characters carry the Stellar Linchpin passive: Odette, Cryo Traveler, Sandrone, and Vesna. For Mizuki teams the practical enablers are Odette and Cryo Traveler, since Vesna occupies the same on-field DPS slot as Mizuki. An Anemo carry using Scarlet Proof in a team without any Stellar Linchpin holder will never activate the 4-piece.

Best Characters for Scarlet Proof

Vesna — Best-in-Slot User (Version 7.1)

Vesna, the 5-star Anemo Sword DPS added in Version 7.1, is the clearest Scarlet Proof user in the current meta. Her Spirit Blade attacks count as direct Stellar Swirl reaction damage when a Stellar Vortex is nearby, and her passive scales the party’s base Stellar Swirl reaction damage off her ATK. This makes her an ATK-scaling carry rather than an EM-scaling one — unlike Mizuki, Vesna wants ATK% on her Sands and Goblet, not Elemental Mastery. The 4-piece’s 16% CRIT Rate and 40% Stellar Swirl DMG buff land on every Spirit Blade hit and Windborne Sword strike, making Scarlet Proof’s value even higher for her than for Mizuki. Pair her with Odette as the off-field Cryo enabler, Cryo Traveler for a second Cryo source and Cryo Resonance, and either Vodyanitsa (for RES shred and healing) or C6 Faruzan (for the Anemo RES shred and CRIT DMG buff) in the flex slot.

Yumemizuki Mizuki — Primary EM-Scaling User

Yumemizuki Mizuki remains an excellent Scarlet Proof user and the best standard banner option for Stellar Swirl. Her kit leans into Anemo-Cryo interactions, and the 40% Stellar Swirl damage bonus plus free CRIT Rate directly amplify her reaction-centric damage. Mizuki’s on-field playstyle allows her to consistently trigger Stellar Swirl, maintaining the 4-piece buff throughout her damage window.

There is an important nuance for Mizuki specifically: Scarlet Proof is not automatically a huge upgrade over her existing artifact options. Strong Gilded Dreams pieces or 2-piece + 2-piece Elemental Mastery combinations can remain highly competitive. The main reason is Scarlet Proof’s 2-piece ATK bonus, which contributes relatively little to Mizuki’s reaction-focused damage. If your existing EM pieces already have excellent substats, replacing them with mediocre Scarlet Proof pieces is unlikely to be worth the Resin. The 4-piece bonus is powerful, but only outperforms well-rolled EM sets when the Scarlet Proof pieces themselves have competitive substats. Head-to-head testing in Version 7.1 confirms that C0 Vesna and C2 Mizuki land at roughly the same DPS ceiling (~161K vs ~163K) both running Scarlet Proof, so the set performs comparably at peak investment for either character.

Other Anemo Carries — Viable Wearers

Beyond Mizuki and Vesna, any Anemo carry works as long as a Stellar Linchpin is enabling the conversion — Venti, Wanderer, and Xiao are all viable wearers. Existing Anemo DPS characters who apply Anemo frequently in teams with Stellar Linchpin holders can activate the set consistently. Venti and Kazuha in particular have high Anemo application frequency that can trigger Stellar Swirl on enemies with Cryo aura.

However, a critical caveat applies to traditional Anemo supports: Kazuha, Venti, and Sucrose may still prefer Viridescent Venerer or established Elemental Mastery sets if resistance reduction and support remain their primary job. Viridescent Venerer’s 40% elemental RES reduction remains one of the most powerful support contributions in the game and should not be abandoned for Scarlet Proof unless the character is functioning as a DPS rather than a support.

Who Should NOT Use Scarlet Proof

Cryo characters — including Odette, Cryo Traveler, Qiqi, and Shenhe — cannot trigger the 4-piece at all and gain only the 2-piece ATK bonus. For these characters, Heart of the Furnace or a personal damage set like Disenchantment in Deep Shadow is always the correct choice. Support Anemo characters whose value comes primarily from Viridescent Venerer should also stick with that set rather than switching to Scarlet Proof.

Scarlet Proof vs Heart of the Furnace

The two Version 7.0 artifact sets cover different roles and are not interchangeable. Choose Scarlet Proof if you are specifically building a Stellar Swirl DPS such as Vesna or Mizuki and want to maximize personal reaction damage. Choose Heart of the Furnace if you are investing in Stellar teams as a whole.

The key differences:

• Scarlet Proof is a personal damage set — only the wearer benefits from the CRIT Rate and Stellar Swirl DMG bonus. It requires an on-field Anemo trigger. It does nothing for teammates.
• Heart of the Furnace is a teamwide buff set — the 50% Stellar Glimmer party damage bonus applies to all team members. It triggers off-field. It works in both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl teams.
• If you can only farm one set first, Heart of the Furnace comes first. A single 4-piece raises the whole party’s Stellar Glimmer damage by 50% — nothing else in Version 7.0 matches that efficiency per artifact farmed, and it benefits every Stellar Glimmer team you will run.
• Scarlet Proof is the second priority, farmed once your primary Stellar team already has Heart of the Furnace covered.

In the same team, one character holds Heart of the Furnace and the Stellar Swirl DPS holds Scarlet Proof — they complement rather than compete. A second character holding Heart of the Furnace adds no additional party buff (it does not stack), so the correct split is always one Furnace holder plus one Scarlet Proof DPS in Stellar Swirl compositions. With both Vesna and Mizuki now using Scarlet Proof, players running two Stellar Swirl carries across both Abyss halves will want two full Scarlet Proof sets farmed alongside two Heart of the Furnace sets for their supports.

Main Stats and Substat Priority

Scarlet Proof is worn by two different types of Stellar Swirl carries in Version 7.1, and their stat priorities differ significantly. Check which character you are building before committing to a main stat.

Vesna (ATK-Scaling)

• Sands: ATK%
• Goblet: ATK% — do not use Anemo DMG Bonus; Vesna’s Stellar Swirl damage scales off ATK, not Anemo DMG%
• Circlet: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG depending on your current ratio. The 4-piece provides 16% CRIT Rate, so lean CRIT DMG if you are already at or above 70% CRIT Rate with the set active

• Stat targets: 2,000–3,000 ATK, balanced CRIT ratio (aim for roughly 2:1 CRIT DMG to CRIT Rate)

Inverted Glacier is a Domain of Blessing located in Everfrozen Earth, Snezhnaya, and drops both the Scarlet Proof and Heart of the Furnace artifact sets. Scarlet Proof can be farmed from the Inverted Glacier domain, located south of Morepesok in Snezhnaya. An alternative route is to take the train and drop between Morepesok and Rankova Zorya.

The domain is available every day of the week with no rotation. Both sets drop from the same domain. Condensed Resin remains the most efficient farming method. Aim for World Level 8 or higher for consistent 5-star drops. Spiral Abyss Floors 9–12 also reward pieces from both sets in the current cycle, supplementing domain runs with passive artifact income.

1. Farm Heart of the Furnace first for your Odette or Stellar Glimmer support. The teamwide 50% Stellar DMG buff benefits every rotation across all Stellar team compositions.
2. Once your primary Stellar support has a solid 4-piece Heart of the Furnace, shift resin toward Scarlet Proof for your Stellar Swirl DPS carry — Vesna, Mizuki, or both if you run two Stellar Swirl teams across the Spiral Abyss.
3. Because both sets drop from the same domain, every run advances both sets simultaneously — keep off-class pieces from each set and build both progressively over multiple farming sessions.
