For EM-scaling Stellar Swirl carries like Yumemizuki Mizuki, this is a relatively minor contribution since their reaction damage scales primarily on Elemental Mastery rather than ATK — a meaningful caveat when comparing the set against EM-focused alternatives.

4-Piece Bonus: CRIT Rate + Stellar Swirl DMG

After the equipping character triggers a Stellar Swirl reaction, their CRIT Rate is increased by 16% and their Stellar Swirl reaction DMG is increased by 40% for 10 seconds.

The 16% CRIT Rate from the 4-piece is equivalent to roughly one full CRIT Rate Circlet’s worth of CRIT Rate — a significant quality-of-life improvement for artifact building. This frees your Circlet slot for CRIT DMG and changes what substats you need, allowing more flexible stat investment toward CRIT DMG and ATK rather than stacking CRIT Rate across substats. The 40% Stellar Swirl DMG increase directly amplifies both the reaction itself and Direct Stellar Swirl damage dealt by character Talents.

Critical Trigger Requirements

Scarlet Proof has two important mechanical constraints that determine which characters can use it effectively. Understanding both is essential before investing Resin.

Requirement 1: Must Be an Anemo Character

The effect can only be triggered if the wearer is an Anemo character, as triggering Stellar Swirl only counts as applying Anemo on an existing Cryo aura. Cryo characters dealing Direct Stellar Swirl damage from their Talents cannot trigger the set.

This is the most important distinction between Scarlet Proof and Heart of the Furnace. A Cryo character like Odette or Cryo Traveler who participates in Stellar Swirl damage cannot activate this set’s 4-piece — the trigger belongs exclusively to the Anemo unit applying Anemo onto a Cryo-aura enemy.

Requirement 2: Must Trigger On-Field

The effect can only be triggered while on-field. However, the buffs last for 10 seconds on the wearer even if they leave the field afterwards. This means the Anemo carry needs an on-field window to trigger at least one Stellar Swirl before swapping. Once triggered, the 16% CRIT Rate and 40% Stellar Swirl DMG buff persist for 10 seconds regardless of whether the character remains active — making it compatible with hybrid on/off-field Anemo DPS rotations as long as the trigger happens before swapping.

Requirement 3: Needs a Stellar Linchpin Enabler

Standard Cryo Swirl does not become Stellar Swirl automatically. If your team cannot convert Superconduct and Swirl into their Stellar versions, both new 7.0 sets are dead stats — that conversion needs Odette or the Cryo Traveler in the party. Scarlet Proof is only useful if your team includes Odette or Cryo Traveler to enable the Stellar Swirl reaction. An Anemo carry using Scarlet Proof in a team without a Stellar Linchpin holder will never activate the 4-piece.

Best Characters for Scarlet Proof

Yumemizuki Mizuki — Primary User

Yumemizuki Mizuki currently stands as the clearest user of Scarlet Proof. Her kit already leans into Anemo-Cryo interactions, and the 40% Stellar Swirl damage bonus plus free CRIT Rate lets her explode those Polestar Wind Clusters for massive numbers. Mizuki’s on-field playstyle allows her to consistently trigger Stellar Swirl, maintaining the 4-piece buff throughout her damage window. Pair her with Odette as the Stellar Linchpin and Cryo off-field applier, then fill the remaining slots with supports like Sucrose (for EM buffs and additional Stellar Swirl triggers) and Qiqi or Faruzan (for sustain or Anemo DMG amplification).

There is an important nuance for Mizuki specifically: Scarlet Proof is not automatically a huge upgrade over Mizuki’s existing artifact options. Strong Gilded Dreams pieces or 2-Piece + 2-Piece Elemental Mastery combinations can remain highly competitive. The main reason is Scarlet Proof’s 2-Piece ATK bonus, which contributes relatively little to Mizuki’s reaction-focused damage. If your existing EM pieces already have excellent substats, replacing them with mediocre Scarlet Proof pieces is unlikely to be worth the Resin. Other Anemo Carries — Viable Wearers

However, a critical caveat applies to traditional Anemo supports: Kazuha, Venti, and Sucrose may still prefer Viridescent Venerer or established Elemental Mastery sets if resistance reduction and support remain their primary job. Viridescent Venerer’s 40% elemental RES reduction remains one of the most powerful support contributions in the game and should not be abandoned for Scarlet Proof unless the character is functioning as a DPS rather than a support.

Who Should NOT Use Scarlet Proof

Cryo characters — including Odette, Cryo Traveler, Qiqi, and Shenhe — cannot trigger the 4-piece at all and gain only the 2-piece ATK bonus. For these characters, Heart of the Furnace or a personal damage set like Disenchantment in Deep Shadow is always the correct choice. Support Anemo characters whose value comes primarily from Viridescent Venerer should also stick with that set rather than switching to Scarlet Proof.

Scarlet Proof vs Heart of the Furnace

The two Version 7.0 artifact sets cover different roles and are not interchangeable. Choose Scarlet Proof if you are specifically building a Stellar Swirl DPS such as Mizuki and want to maximize personal reaction damage. Choose Heart of the Furnace if you are investing in Stellar teams as a whole.

The key differences:

• Scarlet Proof is a personal damage set — only the wearer benefits from the CRIT Rate and Stellar Swirl DMG bonus. It requires an on-field Anemo trigger. It does nothing for teammates.
• Heart of the Furnace is a teamwide buff set — the 50% Stellar Glimmer party damage bonus applies to all team members. It triggers off-field. It works in both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl teams.
• If you can only farm one set first, Heart of the Furnace comes first. A single 4-piece raises the whole party’s Stellar Glimmer damage by 50% — nothing else in Version 7.0 matches that efficiency per artifact farmed, and it benefits every Stellar Glimmer team you will run.
• Scarlet Proof is the second priority, farmed once your primary Stellar team already has Heart of the Furnace covered.

In the same team, one character holds Heart of the Furnace and the Stellar Swirl DPS holds Scarlet Proof — they complement rather than compete. A second character holding Heart of the Furnace adds no additional party buff (it does not stack), so the correct split is always one Furnace holder plus one Scarlet Proof DPS in Stellar Swirl compositions.

Main Stats and Substat Priority

For Anemo DPS characters using Scarlet Proof as a damage set — primarily Yumemizuki Mizuki:

• Sands: Elemental Mastery (for reaction-scaling Stellar Swirl) or ATK% (if direct Talent damage is the primary output)
• Goblet: Anemo DMG Bonus or ATK%
• Circlet: CRIT DMG — the 16% CRIT Rate from the 4-piece substitutes for a CRIT Rate Circlet, freeing this slot for CRIT DMG

Across both new 7.0 sets, substat priority stays consistent: CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > ATK% > Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery. Stellar Glimmer damage scales primarily with ATK rather than Elemental Mastery, so traditional EM stacking is less valuable than in older reaction teams. Inverted Glacier is a Domain of Blessing located in Everfrozen Earth, Snezhnaya, and drops both the Scarlet Proof and Heart of the Furnace artifact sets. Scarlet Proof can be farmed from the Inverted Glacier domain, located south of Morepesok in Snezhnaya. An alternative route is to take the train and drop between Morepesok and Rankova Zorya.

The domain is available every day of the week with no rotation. Both sets drop from the same domain. Condensed Resin remains the most efficient farming method. Aim for World Level 8 or higher for consistent 5-star drops. Spiral Abyss Floors 9–12 also reward pieces from both sets in the current cycle, supplementing domain runs with passive artifact income.
