- Witcher 3 Remastered PC system requirements come in six tiers: Minimum, Recommended, Ultra, RT Minimum, RT Recommended and Path Tracing.
- The lowest tier needs a GTX 1660, 12 GB RAM and a 60 GB SSD for 1080p at 30 FPS.
- Every tier needs 64-bit Windows 11 and an SSD. Windows 10 is no longer supported.
- Path tracing at 4K 60 FPS is listed for the RTX 5080 only, with Frame Generation on.
- The Epic Games Store version needs 95 GB of free space.
CD Projekt RED updated the PC requirements with Patch 5.0. The game now has better lighting, new shading and a fully rebuilt DirectX 12 renderer. All of that needs stronger hardware than the 2015 original. This guide covers every tier so you can check your PC fast.

Does Witcher 3 Remastered Support Windows 10?
No. Windows 10 does not appear on any of the six tiers. CD Projekt RED says it no longer develops or tests the game on Windows 10. That does not mean the game will stop working on it right away. But you are on your own if something breaks.
Do You Need an SSD for Witcher 3 Remastered?
Yes. An SSD is now mandatory on every tier. The original game could run from a hard drive. The Remastered version cannot be treated the same way.
Witcher 3 Remastered Storage Requirements
The official tables list 60 GB of SSD space. The Epic Games Store version needs 95 GB of free space instead. Some early reports quoted 70 GB, so leave a little extra room for updates and mods.
Witcher 3 Remastered Upscaling and Frame Generation Support
Patch 5.0 adds support for all three major upscalers on PC:
- NVIDIA: DLSS 4.5 with Ray Reconstruction
- AMD: FSR 4 with Frame Generation and Anti-Lag 2
- Intel: XeSS 2.0 with Frame Generation and Low Latency
FSR 4 works on Radeon RX 7000 Series cards and newer. On older AMD cards, the game falls back to FSR 2. Update your graphics drivers before you launch the game.
Can You Run Witcher 3 Remastered on Steam Deck?
Yes, but you will need to lower some graphics settings to get a smooth frame rate. Expect to tweak settings before it feels right.
Which Witcher 3 Remastered Tier Should You Target?
- Older budget PC: Aim for the Minimum tier and expect 1080p at 30 FPS on Low.
- Mid-range PC: Aim for the Recommended tier for 1080p at 60 FPS.
- High-end 1440p PC: Use the Ultra tier, or RT Recommended if you want ray tracing.
- Top-end 4K PC: Only the RTX 5080 tier is listed for path tracing.
