A-Tier • Havoc • Sword • Hybrid Main/Sub-DPS • 4★ Standard Banner • Midnight Ranger
Overview
Danjin is a 4-Star Havoc Sword Hybrid DPS who has remained one of the strongest 4-star characters since Wuthering Waves launch. As a Midnight Ranger possessing unwavering integrity, she travels across Solaris-3 pursuing justice and vowing to cleanse the world of villainy. Her combat identity revolves around a unique berserker-style mechanic where she sacrifices her own HP to unleash devastating attacks, then heals herself through powerful Heavy Attacks fueled by Ruby Blossom stacks.
Her defining trait is her Ruby Blossom and HP sacrifice system — her Resonance Skill has zero cooldown but consumes 3% of her max HP per cast (stops at 1% HP). This allows for unlimited skill usage, generating Ruby Blossom stacks that fuel her devastating Heavy Attack: Chaoscleave. At 60 Ruby Blossom (or 120 for maximum power), she can unleash Chaoscleave dealing massive Havoc damage while healing herself based on HP consumed. Her extremely fluid attack animations and skill-weaving create a high-risk, high-reward playstyle that rewards mechanical skill.
Her Outro Skill grants the incoming Resonator +23% Havoc DMG Amplification for 14 seconds — making her the premier 4-star Havoc buffer and incredibly valuable for Havoc DPS characters like Rover (Havoc), Camellya, and Phrolova. At S6, her Chaoscleave also provides +20% ATK to all team members for 20 seconds, transforming her into an excellent hybrid support. She is rated A-Tier and has some of the best sequence value among all 4-star characters.
🌑 Ruby Blossom & HP Sacrifice System
Danjin’s unique berserker mechanic allows her to sacrifice HP for unlimited skill usage, then recover health through powerful Heavy Attacks.
HP Sacrifice Mechanic
- 🩸 Resonance Skill costs: 3% max HP per cast (normal) / 6% max HP per cast (at S1)
- 🩸 HP cannot drop below 1% — once at 1%, skills cost 0 HP
- 🩸 Zero cooldown on Resonance Skill — can spam indefinitely if HP allows
- 🩸 Encourages aggressive playstyle — constantly hovering at low HP for maximum damage uptime
Ruby Blossom Generation
Danjin generates Ruby Blossom stacks through her Resonance Skills:
- ● Carmine Gleam: Basic Resonance Skill attack (grants Ruby Blossom)
- ● Crimson Erosion: After Basic Attack 2, Dodge Counter, or Intro — 2-hit combo that applies Incinerating Will debuff (+20% DMG to marked targets)
- ● Sanguine Pulse: After Basic Attack 3 — devastating 3-hit combo dealing massive damage
- ● Goal: Accumulate 60-120 Ruby Blossom for Chaoscleave
Heavy Attack: Chaoscleave
At 60+ Ruby Blossom, long-press Basic Attack to unleash Chaoscleave:
- ✓ Consumes all Ruby Blossom (60 minimum required)
- ✓ Deals massive Havoc DMG (higher damage if consuming 120 Ruby Blossom)
- ✓ Heals Danjin based on HP consumed from Resonance Skills
- ✓ Follow-up with Basic Attack for Scatterbloom — additional burst damage
- ✓ At S6: Chaoscleave grants +20% ATK to all team members for 20s
Incinerating Will Debuff
Applied by Crimson Erosion II (the second hit). Marked enemies take +20% increased damage from Danjin for 12 seconds. Look for the flower icon above enemies to confirm debuff is active. Always maintain this debuff for optimal damage output.

Best Teams
🎵 Phrolova Dual DPS Team
Team: Phrolova / Danjin / Shorekeeper
Perfect synergy — Phrolova deals massive off-field damage through Hecate while Danjin maximizes on-field time. Danjin can trigger Hecate’s Enhanced Attacks via Echo Skill casts. Shorekeeper provides buffs and essential healing for Danjin’s HP sacrifice mechanic. Both DPS characters benefit from each other’s Outro buffs.
🌑 Havoc Rover Hypercarry Team
Team: Havoc Rover / Danjin / Shorekeeper (or Verina)
The iconic F2P powerhouse team. Danjin’s +23% Havoc DMG Amplification perfectly buffs Havoc Rover’s diverse damage types. Can be played as either Hypercarry (Rover focused) or Dual DPS (both share field time). The double Dreamless echo combo instantly clears enemy waves. Extremely strong despite being completely free-to-play accessible.
🌺 Camellya Havoc Team
Team: Camellya / Danjin / Shorekeeper
Danjin provides +23% Havoc DMG buff and fills in field time when Camellya’s Budding state is on cooldown. While Roccia and Sanhua slightly outperform Danjin in this specific team, Danjin remains a strong alternative with good personal damage and flexibility.
🔥 Budget Heavy Attack Team
Team: Danjin / Mortefi / Verina (or Baizhi)
F2P accessible main DPS team. Mortefi’s +38% Heavy Attack DMG Outro perfectly buffs Danjin’s Chaoscleave — her primary damage source. Verina provides ATK buffs, healing, and coordinated attacks. Baizhi offers alternative healing plus Deepen buffs. Great option for players building Danjin as primary carry.
Skill Priority
1. Forte Circuit (Priority)
Improves Heavy Attack: Chaoscleave and Scatterbloom — her primary damage and healing source. Absolutely essential to max first for optimal performance.
2. Resonance Skill
Increases damage of Carmine Gleam, Crimson Erosion, and Sanguine Pulse. Accounts for ~45% of total damage output. Critical for overall DPS.
3. Resonance Liberation
Multi-hit burst damage. Low Energy cost (40) allows frequent usage. Important but lower priority than Forte and Resonance Skill.
4. Basic Attack
Used primarily to weave into Resonance Skill combos. Provides some damage but not the main source. Level after core abilities.
5. Intro Skill (Low Priority)
Only used when swapping in. Applies Incinerating Will debuff which is valuable, but minimal damage contribution. Level last.

Main DPS Rotation (Long)
- Intro Skill → Apply Incinerating Will debuff
- Basic Attack x2 → Setup for Crimson Erosion
- Resonance Skill: Crimson Erosion (2 hits) → Refresh Incinerating Will, gain Ruby Blossom

- Resonance Skill: Sanguine Pulse (3 hits) → High damage, gain Ruby Blossom
- Repeat step 2-5 → Build to 120 Ruby Blossom for maximum Chaoscleave damage
- Heavy Attack: Chaoscleave → Consume 120 Ruby Blossom, massive damage + healing
- Basic Attack: Scatterbloom → Follow-up burst damage

🩸 Pro Tips
- ● ALWAYS maintain Incinerating Will debuff on enemies — it’s +20% damage and lasts 12 seconds
- ● Dodge Counter triggers Crimson Erosion — use it to apply debuff instantly after dodging
- ● All attacks can parry — use skills, dodge counters, and Chaoscleave to parry enemy strikes
- ● Can emergency heal at 60 Ruby Blossom — don’t always wait for 120 if HP critical
- ● Expect to hover at 1% HP frequently — requires excellent dodge/parry timing to survive
- ● Danjin has shortest attack animation locks in the game — incredibly responsive gameplay
Resonance Chain (Sequences)
S1 – High Value ⭐
Dodge Counter damage increased by 20%. HP cost and Ruby Blossom recovery doubled. Makes dodge-cancel gameplay significantly more rewarding and accelerates Chaoscleave timing.
S2 – Very High Value ⭐⭐
MAJOR POWER SPIKE. When Danjin has 60+ Ruby Blossom, gain +15% Crit Rate (persists through entire Chaoscleave combo). Massive and consistent damage increase.
S3 – Medium Value
After Sanguine Pulse, Heavy Attack DMG increased by 30% for 5s. Directly buffs Chaoscleave damage. Solid upgrade but not transformative.
S4 – Medium Value
When HP is below 60%, Havoc DMG Bonus increased by additional 15%. Encourages aggressive low-HP gameplay. Good for experienced players who can maintain low HP safely.
S5 – Low Value
Reduces Resonance Skill animation time. Quality of life improvement for smoother rotations but minimal damage increase. Skippable sequence.
S6 – Very High Value ⭐⭐
TEAM-WIDE SUPPORT UPGRADE. Heavy Attack: Chaoscleave increases ALL team members’ ATK by 20% for 20s. Transforms Danjin into exceptional hybrid support while maintaining strong personal DPS.
Investment Recommendation: S1 and S2 provide the best value for damage. S6 is exceptional for hybrid/support builds. All sequences combined, Danjin has some of the highest sequence value among 4-star characters.
Should You Build Danjin?
✓ Build If…
- ✓ You’re running Havoc DPS characters (Rover, Camellya, Phrolova) — her +23% Havoc DMG Outro is invaluable
- ✓ You enjoy high-skill ceiling gameplay — she rewards mechanical mastery with dodge/parry timing
- ✓ You want the strongest 4-star damage dealer — she can rival or surpass low-sequence 5-stars
- ✓ You’re F2P/budget — accessible on all banners and performs excellently even at S0
⊘ Skip/Lower Priority If…
- ✗ You hate dying frequently — her HP sacrifice mechanic is brutally punishing without perfect execution
- ✗ You prefer simple, safe gameplay — she requires constant attention to HP management and precise dodge timing
- ✗ You already have Roccia or Sanhua invested — they may outperform Danjin in specific Havoc teams
- ✗ You’re not running Havoc DPS — her Outro buff is wasted on non-Havoc characters
The Verdict
🩸 The Crimson Berserker
Danjin is an A-Tier Hybrid Main/Sub-DPS who embodies the high-risk, high-reward berserker archetype through her unique HP sacrifice and Ruby Blossom system. Her ability to spam zero-cooldown Resonance Skills at the cost of her own health creates one of the most mechanically engaging playstyles in Wuthering Waves. She is the strongest 4-star damage dealer in the game and possesses some of the best sequence scaling among all 4-star characters.
What makes her worth building? Her versatility is unmatched — she can function as either a main DPS with devastating personal damage, or as a hybrid support providing +23% Havoc DMG Amplification to Havoc teammates. At S6, she additionally grants +20% ATK to the entire team. Her fluid combat animations (shortest attack locks in the game) reward skilled play with incredibly satisfying skill-weaving combos. The iconic Havoc Rover + Danjin double Dreamless team remains one of the strongest F2P compositions available.
Final Recommendation: Absolutely worth building for Havoc teams. Use Havoc Eclipse (5-PC) with Nightmare: Crownless or Dreamless as main echo. Prioritize Crit Rate/DMG (1:2 ratio) → Havoc DMG% → Resonance Skill DMG% for stats. Blazing Brilliance is her best weapon, but Emerald of Genesis and Lumingloss work excellently. Pair with Phrolova for dual DPS synergy, Havoc Rover for F2P dominance, or Camellya for premium Havoc teams. Aim for S2 minimum, S6 if possible — best 4-star investment in the game!
