ARC Raiders Taking Stock Quest Walkthrough Guide

Taking Stock is a Nomadic Envoy quest in ARC Raiders that sends you across three different maps before you can collect your reward. It showed up with the Frozen Trail update and sits right after the Clean Hands quest. It is not a combat-heavy mission, but the travel adds up fast if you are not prepared.

Before You Drop — What to Prepare

When you accept Taking Stock from Cassio, the game gives you a Basic Camera as a supply item. You need it for two of the three objectives, so do not leave Speranza without it. An Advanced Camera works just as well if you already own one from your camera guide runs.

The most important thing? Slot that camera into your Safe Pocket before every raid. Stella Montis especially has heavy ARC patrol and PvP activity. Losing your camera to a bad death means another trip back to grab one.

You also need 3 Industrial Batteries for the final delivery. These are standard loot items — not crafted, not quest drops. Check your stash first. If you already have some sitting there from earlier farming runs, you may only need one or two more during your map visits.

MK1 gear is the recommended minimum for the Stella Montis and Spaceport runs. Going in undergeared on those maps will make a simple photo run much harder than it needs to be.

Objective 1 — Photograph the Atrium Sculpture on Stella Montis

Photograph the Atrium Sculpture on Stella Montis

Head into Stella Montis with your camera ready. The Atrium is on the upper floor, toward the southern side of the map — it sits between Communications and the Cafeteria and acts as a crossroads between a few routes. You will not miss the room once you find it.

The sculpture in the center is a large star-shaped structure. It takes up most of the room. Open your radial wheel, equip the camera, aim at the sculpture, and snap the photo. That is it — objective done.

One thing to watch: ARC drones patrol the corridors around the Atrium regularly. Move in, get your shot, and get out. There is no reason to fight anything for this objective. Extract as soon as you have the photo or keep looting if your loadout allows it.

Objective 2 — Photograph a Baron Husk on Spaceport

Photograph a Baron Husk on Spaceport
Photograph a Baron Husk on Spaceport

Baron Husks are the massive, inactive remains of ARC machines scattered across Spaceport. They are hard to miss — think giant dormant mechanical bodies lying against the walls or out in the open areas.

The most reliable spot is the south-western wall near Vehicle Maintenance and Container Storage. This is a long dividing wall between the outer perimeter and the inner zones of Spaceport. Follow it south-west from Vehicle Maintenance and you will find a husk exposed along the wall.

Walk up until the husk fills your camera frame, equip the camera, and take the photo. Multiple Baron Husks exist on the map, so if your spawn is on the other side, just use the closest one you find. You only need one shot to complete the objective.

Head to an extraction point once you have the photo. If you are trying to knock out several objectives in one session, this can also be a good run to grab any Industrial Batteries you still need.

Check our Dormant Barons quest guide for a full breakdown of all Baron Husk locations across the map.

    Objective 3 — Ping a Bombardier or a Bastion

Ping a Bombardier or a Bastion
Ping a Bombardier or a Bastion

This one gives you a choice. You need to ping one of two ARC enemy types — a Bombardier on Dam Battlegrounds or a Bastion on Buried City. You do not need to kill it. You do not need to damage it. Just tag it with a ping and the objective registers.

Option A: Ping a Bastion on Buried City

Most players pick Buried City for this. The map layout is tighter, which makes Bastions easier to find without wandering too far. Common spawn locations include:

    • Marano Park
    • The Library
    • Near the broken bridge by Piazza Arbusto
    • Main Street
    • Market Ruins

Check the road connecting the Hospital and Space Travel Research — Bastions tend to patrol this route fairly often. Once you spot one, ping it from a safe distance and leave. No fight needed.

Option B: Ping a Bombardier on Dam Battlegrounds

Bombardier spawns on Dam Battlegrounds are more spread out and less predictable than Bastions. The best areas to check are the Hydroponic Dome Complex, the Primary Facility near the Control Tower, and the Water Treatment courtyard.

If you are struggling to find one, jump into a Metric or Queen run on Dam Battlegrounds. These event runs tend to bring ARC enemies out in larger numbers and a Bombardier is usually somewhere in the mix. Ping it, done.

Our ARC enemy guides and map guides can help you learn patrol patterns if you are having trouble locating enemies.

Objective 4 — Collect and Deliver 3 Industrial Batteries

Industrial Batteries drop from any Industrial-tagged POI. They show up as regular loot inside containers, lockers, crates, and on shelves. There is no special trick to finding them — just search Industrial zones thoroughly.

Dam Battlegrounds has some of the best spots for this:

    • Water Treatment Control
    • Hydroponic Dome Complex
    • Power Generation Complex

A quick farming route: run the fractured highway from Generator Hall toward East Broken Bridge and breach car trunks as you go. Batteries show up in vehicles fairly often along this stretch.

If you are combining this run with the Bombardier ping, you can knock out both objectives at once on Dam Battlegrounds. Efficient use of raids matters here since you need to visit multiple maps already.

Once you have all three batteries, head back to Speranza. Go to Traders → Nomadic Envoys → Quests tab, find Taking Stock, and hit Claim to hand them over and finish the quest.

For tips on farming and recycling items efficiently, see our recycle and sell guide and the complete loot table guide.

    Taking Stock Quest Rewards

After you hand over the 3 Industrial Batteries and the completion screen pops, you get:

    • 8,000 XP
    • 2x Jolt Mine
    • 1x Advanced Electrical Components

Not bad for a quest that does not require you to kill anything. The XP alone makes it worth pushing through even if the travel is a bit annoying.

Finishing Taking Stock also unlocks the next mission in the Nomadic Envoy chain: A Path Not Yours. Cassio is not done sending you across the map.

Tips for Completing Taking Stock Faster

    • Plan your runs by map — do not make three separate trips if you can combine objectives. The Dam Battlegrounds run works well for both the Bombardier ping and battery farming.
    • Always Safe Pocket the camera — losing it on a bad raid means another supply pickup from Speranza.
    • Check your stash first — if you have Industrial Batteries already, you might only need one more farming run instead of three.
    • You do not need to fight for the ping — spot the enemy, ping it from range, and leave. Do not risk your gear for an objective that needs zero combat.
    • MK1+ gear recommended — Stella Montis has aggressive ARC patrols and PvP. Going in light is asking for trouble.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I get the camera for Taking Stock?

You receive a Basic Camera as a supply item automatically when you accept the quest from Cassio. It is handed over at the start — you do not need to buy or craft one. Just make sure you slot it into your Safe Pocket before you drop into any map.

Can I use an Advanced Camera instead of the Basic Camera?

Yes. Any camera works for both photo objectives. If you already have an Advanced Camera in your inventory, it will complete the task the same way as the Basic one.

Do I need to kill the Bombardier or Bastion?

No. The objective only asks you to ping the enemy. Spot it, open your menu to ping it, and the objective registers instantly. No damage, no kill required. You can walk away immediately after.

Where is the best place to farm Industrial Batteries?

Dam Battlegrounds is the go-to. Hit Water Treatment Control, Hydroponic Dome Complex, and Power Generation Complex. Car trunks along the highway from Generator Hall toward East Broken Bridge also spawn batteries regularly.

What quest comes after Taking Stock?

Completing Taking Stock unlocks A Path Not Yours, the next quest in the Nomadic Envoy line with Cassio.

What quest comes before Taking Stock?

Taking Stock follows directly from Clean Hands. You need to complete that one first before Cassio offers this mission.
