ARC Raiders Someone Elses Shoes Quest

    TL;DR

    • Someone Else’s Shoes is a Frozen Trail quest from Celeste — unlocks after completing Home to Roost for Shani.
    • It takes place on Stella Montis — not Pendola Pass or Blue Gate.
    • Three objectives: scan any living Android on the map, scan the specific Android in Research Lab 3 in the Medical Bay, then interact with the console in the Western Tunnels Control Room.
    • Only living Androids can be scanned — look for blue light flickering in the eyes. Dark eyes mean it is dead and cannot be used.
    • Start at the Medical Bay on the southwest side — you can complete Objectives 1 and 2 in the same building.
    • Research Lab 3 is on the upper floor, southern section of Medical Research — use the yellow ladder to get there.
    • The Western Tunnels Control Room is at the northwest corner of Stella Montis, accessed via the subway tracks north of the Loading Bay.
    • No Safe Pocket needed — nothing to extract with. Progress saves between raids.
    • Rewards: 5,000 XP, 1x Stella Montis Medical Storage Key, 3x Herbal Bandages, 2x Shield Rechargers.
    • Completing this quest unlocks Empathetic Prototypes from Lance.

What Is Someone Else’s Shoes in ARC Raiders?

Someone Else’s Shoes is a quest added with the Frozen Trail update on October 8, 2026. It is given by Celeste in Speranza and digs into the mystery of Project Pathos — a shadowy research program tied to the Androids scattered across Stella Montis. Celeste wants to understand what really happened to them and sends you to investigate.

Despite being a Frozen Trail quest, it does not take you to the new Pendola Pass map. Everything happens on Stella Montis across three tight objectives: scan a living Android anywhere on the map, find a specific one in Research Lab 3 inside the Medical Bay, then reach the Control Room in the Western Tunnels and pull security footage from the console there.

It is one of the cleaner quests in the Frozen Trail batch. No item to carry out, no key needed, no crafting. The only thing that trips players up is knowing where Research Lab 3 is inside the Medical Research building and how to reach the Western Tunnels Control Room from there. This guide covers both in full.

This quest sits in a chain. It unlocks after Home to Roost and leads directly into Empathetic Prototypes from Lance once it is done. For a full view of every quest in the game, see our ARC Raiders complete quest list.

Before You Start – What to Know

    • You must complete Home to Roost first. Someone Else’s Shoes will not appear in Celeste’s quest menu until Home to Roost has been turned in to Shani. If you cannot find this quest, finish that one first.
    • Only living Androids count for Objective 1. A living Android has a blue light flickering in its eyes. If the eyes are dark, it is dead — walk past it and keep looking.
    • Go to the Medical Bay first. It sits on the southwest side of Stella Montis and contains Androids for Objective 1 and the specific Research Lab 3 Android for Objective 2. Starting here lets you knock out both objectives in a single building before moving on.
    • Hostile Android outside Research Lab 3. There is a hostile Android near the lab entrance that may aggro as you approach. You can walk straight past it and go inside — fighting it is optional and wastes time.
    • The Western Tunnels are underground. After the Medical Bay, you head down to ground level, step onto the subway tracks, and follow them northwest. It is a separate area from the main above-ground complex.
    • No Safe Pocket needed. Nothing is extracted from this quest. A Free Loadout works perfectly.

Someone Else’s Shoes – All Objectives

    1. Scan any active Android on Stella Montis
    2. Find and scan the Android in Research Lab 3 in the Medical Bay
    3. Reach the Control Room in the Western Tunnels and retrieve the security footage

Step 1 – Scan Any Active Android on Stella Montis

Scan Any Active Android on Stella Montis

Deploy into Stella Montis and head toward the Medical Research building on the southwest side of the map. This is the most efficient starting point because you also need to be here for Objective 2 — going anywhere else first means extra travel.

Once inside, search the building for a living Android. The top floor of the Medical Bay has several Androids — look for one with a blue light flickering in its eyes. That is the sign it is still active and can be scanned. Walk up close and interact to complete the scan.

If the first Android you find has dark eyes, it is dead. Move on and check others in the area until you find a live one. The spawn is not fixed to a single Android, so check the upper floors of the building first.

Once the scan registers, the first objective is complete. Stay in the building — Research Lab 3 is right here.

If you need a refresher on the Stella Montis layout, our Celeste quest guides and Spaceport quest guides have navigated similar areas in depth.

Step 2 – Find and Scan the Android in Research Lab 3

Still inside the Medical Research building, go to the upper floor. In the central research room area, you will find a yellow ladder — use it to climb up toward Research Lab 3.

Once on the upper floor, head to the southern section. Research Lab 3 is there. Enter the lab and look for an Android lying on a stretcher or hospital bed inside the room.

Approach the Android and interact with it to scan it. This is a specific quest target — scanning any other Android nearby will not count for this objective. You need this particular Android on the bed in Lab 3.

Once the scan is done, the second objective completes. You are finished with the Medical Bay. Now head for the tunnels.

Step 3 – Reach the Western Tunnels Control Room and Retrieve Security Footage

Reach the Western Tunnels Control Room and Retrieve Security Footage

Leave the Medical Research building and make your way toward the Loading Bay POI on the lower level of Stella Montis. From there, descend to ground level and step onto the subway tracks.

Follow the tracks heading northwest. This takes you directly into the Western Tunnel POI, which sits in the northwest corner of the Stella Montis map. The Lobby Metro extraction point is also nearby, which is useful for getting out once you are done.

The Western Tunnels are underground corridor territory — tight spaces that can funnel both ARC enemies and other players. Move with awareness. You are not required to clear enemies here, just reach the Control Room.

Once inside the Western Tunnels, look for the Control Room in the center of the tunnel area. It is a small enclosed room — head inside and find the subway control panel console. Interact with it to retrieve the security footage.

This interaction completes the final objective and finishes all fieldwork for Someone Else’s Shoes. The quest is done — all that is left is to extract and return to Speranza.

How to Finish and Claim Rewards

After interacting with the console, extract from Stella Montis. The closest extraction point is the Lobby Metro Station, right near the Western Tunnels area. Use it rather than trekking back across the map to another point.

Back in Speranza, find Celeste and turn in the quest through her quests menu. The rewards land in your inventory immediately.

For help with extraction options across Stella Montis, see our extraction guide.

    Someone Else’s Shoes – Rewards

Completing the quest and turning it in to Celeste gives you:

    • 5,000 XP
    • 1x Stella Montis Medical Storage Key
    • 3x Herbal Bandages
    • 2x Shield Rechargers

The Stella Montis Medical Storage Key is the standout reward here. It opens the Medical Research storage door on Stella Montis, giving you access to locked loot on future runs to the same map. Do not sell it — save it for an upcoming raid. The Shield Rechargers are also immediately useful for any loadout that runs shields heavily.

For a full breakdown of how shields work and how to keep them charged in the field, our ARC Raiders shield types guide covers everything.

Completing this quest also unlocks Empathetic Prototypes from Lance — the next step in the Frozen Trail story chain.

    Tips for Someone Else’s Shoes

    • Check the eyes before trying to scan. Blue flickering light means the Android is alive and scannable. Dark eyes mean it is dead and you are wasting time. This is the most common reason players get stuck on Objective 1.
    • Start and stay in the Medical Bay for Objectives 1 and 2. There is no reason to go anywhere else until both scans are done. The Medical Bay has multiple Androids on its upper floor, and Research Lab 3 is in the southern section of the same floor.
    • Use the yellow ladder to reach the upper floor. It is in the central research room of the Medical Bay. If you are getting lost inside the building, look for it — it is your route to Research Lab 3.
    • Do not fight the hostile Android outside Research Lab 3. It is not a quest target and engaging it just burns health and time. Walk past it and go straight inside the lab.
    • The Western Tunnels are narrow. ARC enemies and other raiders can both appear here. Move quickly once you are on the tracks rather than loitering — the Control Room is not far from the tunnel entrance.
    • Use the Lobby Metro Station to extract. It is right next to the Western Tunnels, making it the fastest exit after finishing the final objective. No need to cross back to the upper map.
    • Save the Medical Storage Key. The Stella Montis Medical Storage Key from the rewards opens a locked room on the same map. It is worth holding onto for your next Stella Montis run rather than recycling or selling it immediately.
