Ruins and Reverberations is a Celeste quest added in the Frozen Trail update that takes you to the brand-new Pendola Pass map. The whole thing happens at one location — the Cielo Sereno Observatory — but you need to prep correctly before you drop in, or you will waste a full raid. Here is everything you need to know.
Key Takeaways
- Quest giver is Celeste — she also hands you a free Grappling Hook when you accept
- You need a Spotter Relay in your stash before you load into Pendola Pass
- Spotters do not spawn on Pendola Pass — farm the relay on another map first
- The entire quest must be completed in a single raid — dying resets your progress
- Head to the Cielo Sereno Observatory in the northeastern section of Pendola Pass
- Three objectives: attach the relay to the antenna, repair wires in the crawlspace, then activate the relay
- Rewards: 5,000 XP, 2x Smoke Grenade, 1x Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper), 3x Electrical Components, 2x Speaker Component
Before You Load In — What to Prepare
Two items matter here. You need a Spotter Relay and a way to climb to a rooftop. Celeste handles the climbing side for you — she gives you a Grappling Hook for free the moment you accept the quest. A Snap Hook or Zipline also works if you already have one.
The Spotter Relay is the item you need to sort out yourself. Spotters are the small flying ARC units that tag you with a laser so Bombardiers can shell your position. They have low health, so a few hits is all it takes. Kill one, loot the relay from the wreck, and extract with it before you head to Pendola Pass.
The critical thing to know: Spotters do not fly on Pendola Pass. You cannot grab the relay on the same run you do the quest. Go to another map first, get the relay, extract, then load into Pendola Pass with it in your inventory. Put it in your Safe Pocket if you are worried about losing it.
Spotters travel alongside Bombardiers, so look where those heavy units patrol. On Dam Battlegrounds, check the Hydroponic Dome Complex, Primary Facility, and Small Creek. On Spaceport, try the South Trench Tower, Rocket Assembly, and Container Storage. Buried City has them near Parking Garage and Marano Park.

Finding Cielo Sereno Observatory on Pendola Pass
The Cielo Sereno Observatory is in the northeastern section of Pendola Pass. The approach is wide open with very little natural cover, so you are exposed as you close in.
Watch out for the Bully ARC enemy that patrols near the observatory. The open terrain around Cielo Sereno makes Bully encounters dangerous — it can knock you off the building if you are not careful. Use rocks and any available cover as you move in. Our Bully ARC enemy guide has tips for dealing with it safely.
Also keep in mind that the Dynamic Loot Zone system can push the area into a red threat level, which means a Bombardier may already be circling when you arrive. Scan the sky as you approach. Do not let one catch you in the open.
Step 1 — Attach the Spotter Relay to the Antenna
When you reach the observatory, head around to the eastern side of the building. There is a fixed yellow ladder running up the exterior wall. Climb it to reach the roof. You can also use the Grappling Hook or Snap Hook to go straight up, but the ladder costs you nothing gear-wise if you want to save the hook for later.
Once on the roof, cross to the south-western side and look for the antenna mast near the edge. Walk up to it, interact, and choose the option to attach the ARC part. This slots the Spotter Relay in and clears the first objective. The quest tracker will then reveal the next task — repairing the wires below.
Step 2 — Repair the Wires in the Crawlspace
After attaching the relay, turn away from the antenna. Right beside it, you will see a hole in the roof. Drop down through it. You land next to a second gap in the floor — drop through that one as well to get into the crawlspace beneath the control room.

Once you are in the crawlspace:
- Ignore the open shutter on your right
- Take an immediate left
- Then take a second left
- You will find a wall-mounted wire panel highlighted on your screen
Interact with the panel to weld the wires and redirect power. That is the second objective done.
Step 3 — Activate the Spotter Relay

Now climb back up to the roof. Use the Grappling Hook to get up through the gaps you dropped through — this is the fastest way back. Once you are on the roof, return to the antenna on the south-western side and interact with it one more time to fully activate the Spotter Relay.
Important: activating the relay sends out a loud pulse that can attract nearby ARC enemies. Do not hang around after the activation. As soon as the completion splash appears, start moving toward an extraction point. Do not stop to loot unless you are in a very safe position.
Completing the Quest — Return to Celeste
All three objectives tick off on the quest tracker once you activate the antenna. You will see a “Ruins and Reverberations Complete” notification on screen. Extract from Pendola Pass and head back to Speranza to talk to Celeste and collect your rewards.
Remember: this quest must be done in a single raid. If you get knocked out or are forced to extract early at any point, your progress resets and you start again from the beginning. Keep your health topped up and play carefully once you are inside the observatory.
Ruins and Reverberations Quest Rewards
After turning in the quest to Celeste at Speranza, you receive:
- 5,000 XP
- 2x Smoke Grenade
- 1x Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) augment
- 3x Electrical Components
- 2x Speaker Component
The Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) is the highlight here. It gives you 18 backpack slots, 4 quick use slots, 2 weapon slots, 2 trinket slots, and 1 safe pocket slot, with a 65 carry weight limit. It works with Light, Medium, and Heavy shields. If you do long scavenging runs, this augment is genuinely useful and worth having in your loadout rotation.
Tips for Completing Ruins and Reverberations
- Farm the Spotter Relay before anything else — this is the only thing that can block your progress if you forget it
- Safe Pocket the relay — Pendola Pass has open terrain and real death risk; losing the relay mid-run is frustrating
- Use the yellow ladder on the eastern wall if you want to save your hook charges for getting back up through the crawlspace gaps
- Watch for Bullies near the observatory — the open approach is dangerous and knockback near the roof edges can be lethal
- Extract immediately after activating the relay — the pulse draws enemies and there is nothing left to do on the map at that point
- Do not forget this is a single-raid quest — do not start it casually on a poorly geared run

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I get a Spotter Relay for Ruins and Reverberations?
You get a Spotter Relay by killing a Spotter — the small flying ARC units that tag you for Bombardier shelling. They spawn on most maps but not on Pendola Pass. Farm one on Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, or Buried City, extract with it, then load into Pendola Pass to do the quest.
Can I get the Spotter Relay on the same run as the quest?
No. Spotters do not appear on Pendola Pass, so you cannot loot the relay there. You must bring it with you from a previous raid. Always prepare it in advance before accepting this quest.
Do I need to bring a Grappling Hook?
Celeste gives you a free Grappling Hook when you accept the quest, so no — you do not need to buy or craft one. That said, there is also a fixed yellow ladder on the eastern side of the observatory if you prefer to save the hook. Either works fine.
What happens if I die during Ruins and Reverberations?
Your quest progress resets. This is a single-raid quest, meaning all three objectives must be completed in one continuous run. If you extract early or get knocked out, you start from the beginning on your next raid — including re-attaching the relay to the antenna.
Where exactly are the wires to repair in the crawlspace?
After dropping from the roof through two gaps in the floor, you land in the crawlspace below the control room. Ignore the shutter on your right. Turn left, then left again, and you will find the highlighted wire panel on the wall. Interact with it to complete that objective.
What is the Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) reward?
It is an augment that gives you 18 backpack slots, 4 quick use slots, 2 weapon slots, 2 trinket slots, and 1 safe pocket slot with a 65 carry weight limit. It works with Light, Medium, and Heavy shields. It trades mobility and utility for extra loot capacity, making it a solid choice for long farming runs.
