    Panopticon Service Request Control Resonant

    TL;DR

    • Talk to Langston at the Field Panopticon in Central to start the quest.
    • Repair the security terminal with 2 Power Modules and 1 Satellite Dish.
    • The cell Langston sends you to (B-02) is mislabeled — the real cell is D-04.
    • Tell Langston: Category D, Number 04.
    • Cycle the Altered Radio until you hear the New York World’s Fair broadcast.
    • Carry it without putting it down to E-05 and contain it there.
    • Rewards: Aramid Work Clothes outfit and Untapped Feeding Bottle Artifact Recipe.

The Panopticon Service Request quest in Control Resonant starts as a simple maintenance job but turns into a three-part containment puzzle. The security terminal is broken, the containment cells are mislabeled, and the Altered Radio keeps changing broadcasts on you.

This guide covers every step — the terminal components, the cell ID puzzle, how to tune the radio, and where to contain it. If you already solved a different quest recently, our Control Resonant Crossing the Threshold walkthrough covers the other early side quest in Central with a similar level of detail.

How to Start Panopticon Service Request

The quest becomes available after you reach the FBC Field Office in Central. Head to the Field Panopticon in the southeastern part of the Field Office and find Langston. Talk to him and hear him out fully.

Langston explains that an Altered Radio needs to be properly contained but the Panopticon’s security system isn’t working. That sends Dylan into the containment area to fix it. You’ll need Level 1 clearance to be in this part of Central — see our Control Resonant SR Keycard clearance level guide if you haven’t reached that point yet.

Enter the Field Panopticon and Find the Security Terminal
Enter the Field Panopticon and Find the Security Terminal

Step 1: Enter the Field Panopticon and Find the Security Terminal

Go inside the Panopticon and look for the Security Terminal in a small room toward the left side of the containment area. Interact with it — it won’t start because three components are missing.

    You need:

    • Power Module #1
    • Power Module #2
    • Satellite Dish

Step 2: Find the First Power Module

The first Power Module is close to the Security Terminal itself. Pick it up and carry it back. Place it into the empty slot in the server rack. The terminal partially responds as the first power connection is restored.

Step 3: Find the Second Power Module

The second Power Module is inside the main Panopticon area, near Cell A-01. It’s on the floor — pick it up and return it to the terminal. Install it into the remaining slot. Both power connections are now active.

Step 4: Find and Install the Satellite Dish

The Satellite Dish is lying near Cell C-03. Pick it up, then look upward. You’ll spot an antenna structure above the containment area with a blinking red indicator light — that’s the mounting point.

To reach it, carry the dish and climb onto the top of a nearby containment enclosure. You don’t need to throw it up. Get onto the enclosure first, then walk toward the antenna and place the dish. The indicator changes from red to green when it’s installed correctly.

Step 5: Start the Security System

Return to the Security Terminal and select START SYSTEM. The Panopticon security system comes back online.

Langston then contacts Dylan and asks him to check Containment Cell B-02. This is where the quest gets deliberately misleading.

Step 6: Go to B-02 (It Won’t Open)

Head to B-02 and try to interact with the cell. It won’t open — and that’s not a bug. The cell labels in the Panopticon are wrong. The physical ID plates don’t match the actual cell designations.

Before you can tell Langston the right cell, you need to figure out what B-02 is actually called.

Step 7: Find the Note for Langston

Look for the crate near Cell A-01. There’s a document on it called “Note for Langston.” Read it.

The note explains that the containment cells were reprogrammed clockwise but the physical ID plates were never updated. The visible labels don’t match the real designations, and you need to reverse the sequence to find the correct cell.

    Solve the Cell ID Puzzle
    Solve the Cell ID Puzzle

Step 8: Solve the Cell ID Puzzle

The label mapping reverses like this:

    • Displayed A = actual E
    • Displayed B = actual D
    • Displayed 1 = actual 5
    • Displayed 2 = actual 4

So the cell showing as B-02 is actually D-04. That’s the answer Langston needs.

Tell Langston the Correct Cell ID
Tell Langston the Correct Cell ID

Step 9: Tell Langston the Correct Cell ID

Use the intercom and speak with Langston. When he asks for the designation, give him:

    • Category: D
    • Number: 04

Langston remotely opens the correct cell and the Altered Radio is inside waiting for you.

    Pick Up the Altered Radio
    Pick Up the Altered Radio

Step 10: Pick Up the Altered Radio

Go to D-04 and pick up the Altered Radio. Here’s where the final puzzle starts.

The radio doesn’t stay put. It cycles through different broadcasts, and it can relocate when you set it down. Your job is to find a specific broadcast before carrying it to the right containment cell.

Step 11: Tune the Radio to the New York World’s Fair Broadcast

The broadcast you’re looking for is the New York World’s Fair announcement. A useful audio cue is the announcer mentioning the World’s Fair ending on Sunday, October 17th.

To cycle through broadcasts, do this:

    • Pick up the radio.
    • Put it down.
    • Move away briefly.
    • Wait for the broadcast to change.
    • Pick it up again and listen.
    • Repeat until you hear the World’s Fair announcement.

Tip: Turn on subtitles before doing this section. Go to Options → Audio/Accessibility → Subtitles → ON. The different broadcasts can overlap with ambient sound and it’s much easier to catch the World’s Fair text on screen than to catch it by ear alone.

If you’re finding the combat or mechanics frustrating at any point, our Control Resonant Assist Mode settings guide explains all 11 individual difficulty options you can adjust.

control resonant Carry the Radio Directly to E 05
control resonant Carry the Radio Directly to E 05

Step 12: Carry the Radio Directly to E-05

Once the New York World’s Fair broadcast is playing — stop. Pick up the radio and carry it straight to E-05.

Do not put the radio down before you get there. Placing it down can cause the broadcast to change again and you’ll have to cycle through everything a second time. Hold on to it and walk directly to E-05 without stopping.

Step 13: Place the Radio in E-05 and Complete the Quest

Enter Containment Cell E-05 and place the Altered Radio on the containment pedestal inside. As long as the World’s Fair broadcast is still playing, the containment process succeeds and the quest completes.

    Panopticon Service Request Rewards

    Aramid Work Clothes

A cosmetic outfit for Dylan using a twill/ballistic-fiber training design. It’s equipped as a Top Layer. It won’t appear on Dylan automatically — you need to visit an FBC wardrobe locker in a friendly area and select it manually. If you’re collecting all cosmetics, our Control Resonant skin codes guide lists other outfits available in the game.

    Untapped Feeding Bottle Artifact Recipe

This recipe gives you +30% Power recovery while Dylan is affected by Infected or Burn. Take the recipe to the Gap to craft the Artifact. It’s an interesting build option if you’re deliberately playing around negative status effects — turning a debuff into a resource advantage.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What are the components needed to repair the security terminal in Panopticon Service Request?

You need 2 Power Modules and 1 Satellite Dish. The first Power Module is near the terminal itself, the second is near Cell A-01, and the Satellite Dish is near Cell C-03. Install the dish by climbing onto a nearby containment enclosure and reaching the antenna mounting point above.

Why won’t Cell B-02 open in Panopticon Service Request?

The cell labels in the Panopticon are mislabeled. The cells were reprogrammed clockwise but the physical ID plates were never updated. B-02 on the label is actually D-04. Read the Note for Langston near Cell A-01 for the full explanation.

What do I tell Langston for the correct cell ID?

Tell him Category D and Number 04. This opens the correct cell containing the Altered Radio.

How do I tune the Altered Radio in Control Resonant?

Pick up the radio and put it down repeatedly to cycle through broadcasts. You’re looking for the New York World’s Fair announcement — listen for the mention of the Fair ending on Sunday, October 17th. Enable subtitles to make it easier to catch the right broadcast.

Where do I take the Altered Radio after tuning it?

Carry it directly to Containment Cell E-05 and place it on the pedestal inside. Do not put the radio down between D-04 and E-05 or the broadcast may change and you’ll have to tune it again.

What are the rewards for Panopticon Service Request?

You receive the Aramid Work Clothes outfit (equipped as a Top Layer at any wardrobe locker) and the Untapped Feeding Bottle Artifact Recipe, which gives +30% Power recovery while Dylan is affected by Infected or Burn.

Does Panopticon Service Request have multiple endings?

No. Unlike Crossing the Threshold, there are no dialogue choices that affect the outcome. The quest follows a fixed puzzle sequence — repair the terminal, identify D-04, tune the radio, contain it in E-05 — and always gives the same two rewards on completion.

What happens if I leave the Panopticon during the quest?

Leaving via the death screen or system menu can reset your progress and return you to the open world. It’s better to complete the sequence in one run once you’ve entered the Panopticon rather than leaving partway through.

Where is the Satellite Dish mounting point in the Panopticon?

Look upward from the C-03 area for the antenna structure above the containment area. It has a blinking red light. Climb onto the top of a nearby containment enclosure while carrying the dish and approach the antenna. The indicator turns green when installed correctly.
