What Is the Spaceship Landing Puzzle in Control Resonant?
The Spaceship Landing puzzle is one of the 11 Dylan’s Sketchbook scenes in Control Resonant, sitting in the Underpass zone. Dylan finds an abandoned moon-landing diorama set up on a floating platform — figurines and props have been scattered across the nearby pillars and platforms. Put it all back together and Dylan sketches the finished scene, adding Space Adventure to his Sketchbook in Archives.
It is one of the more physically demanding Sketchbook puzzles to reach because the Underpass is a heavily vertical, gravity-warped environment. Getting to the puzzle platform requires confident use of Elevate, Shift, and Reach. The puzzle itself, once you are there, is straightforward.
Requirements Before You Can Start
Two things must be in place before this puzzle is accessible:
- Complete Recursions and Iterations — The Underpass zone only opens after finishing this main story quest. The area is locked before that point in the game.
- All three traversal abilities — You need Shift (from The Incursion Fault), Reach (from The Subway Fault), and Elevate (from the opening Orientation Fault) to navigate the Underpass properly. These all unlock naturally during the story through the Jesse Sightings questlines.
It is worth waiting until after Recursions and Iterations is fully complete before going for this puzzle. The Research Site area shifts during that quest, which can make finding the puzzle platform confusing mid-mission. Come back once the quest is done and use the Research Site fast travel to orient yourself.
Where to Find the Spaceship Landing Puzzle in the Underpass
The puzzle is in the central section of the Underpass, northwest of the Research Site point of interest. The closest fast travel door is Halfway Trail. From there, head northwest using Reach to grapple across to the floating island platform cluster.
Alternatively, from the Research Site fast travel door, jump out onto the surrounding pillars and use Elevate and Air Dashes to cross northwest toward the puzzle area. As you approach, a question mark appears on your mini-map, marking the secret location. You will know you are in the right spot when you see a large platform with a floodlight, a yellow X marked on the floor, and scattered prop items around it.
Interact with the platform scene using L1 / LB — the prompt reads Spaceship landing. Dylan comments on the setup and the puzzle activates. All five missing props now appear as jigsaw-piece puzzle icons on your mini-map radar.
Spaceship Landing Puzzle Solution — All Five Props
Prop 1 — The Space Shuttle / Lunar Lander
Where to find it: It is sitting on top of the main platform itself — on the upper second level of the podium structure near the puzzle start point.
Where to place it: Pick it up and set it on the large yellow X-shaped landing marker on the floor of the platform. This is the centerpiece of the whole scene.
Prop 2 — The US / American Flag
Where to find it: On top of one of the nearby pillars surrounding the puzzle platform. Climb or Reach up to the pillar top to collect it.
Where to place it: The flag goes on the highest section of the podium structure — the tallest pillar in the moon-landing display. It represents the classic flag-planting moment of the Apollo landing.
Prop 3 — The Skull-Face Alien Figurine
Where to find it: On top of another nearby pillar, close to the flag. Check the pillars around the main platform using your mini-map icon to locate it.
Where to place it: The alien goes on the wooden box at the back of the scene — set it there and it becomes the quirky background observer of the moon landing.
Props 4 and 5 — The Farmer Figurine and Man with Dog Figurine
Where to find them: Both are located across from the main puzzle platform — on the opposite side of the gap. Jump or Reach across to the far platform or altar area and collect both figurines from there. They are close together.
Where to place them: The Farmer and Man with Dog go on the two remaining podium spots — the lower sections of the main display. These two figurines can be placed in either of the two remaining positions — order does not matter for these two. One placement guide describes the boy in white clothes (Farmer) on the lowest podium and the person in brown clothes (Man with Dog) on the middle podium, but swapping them does not break the puzzle.

How to Draw the Scene and Complete the Puzzle
Once all five props are on their markers, step back from the completed diorama and press R3 (PlayStation) / right stick click (Xbox) / Alt (PC) to Draw. Dylan sketches the moon-landing scene and the Space Adventure Sketchbook drawing is added to Archives → Dylan’s Sketchbook.

Common Issues With the Spaceship Landing Puzzle
I Cannot Find the Platform
The Underpass is disorienting due to its shifting gravity surfaces. If you are struggling to locate the puzzle island, fast travel to Halfway Trail and head northwest on foot rather than trying to navigate from street level. The floodlight beside the yellow X is a useful visual landmark once you are on the right island cluster.
I Cannot Reach the Pillars with the Flag and Alien
Use Elevate to float up to pillar height, then an Air Dash to close the gap. If the pillar top is still out of reach, look for a Reach Point (glowing grapple anchor) on the side of the pillar or the platform above you and grapple up. Shift may also let you walk up a vertical surface if the pillar has a wall-walkable face.
I Cannot Cross to the Far Platform for the Farmer and Dog Figurines
The gap between the main puzzle platform and the altar platform opposite requires either a long Elevate glide with an Air Dash, or a Reach grapple to a point on the other side. If the gap looks too wide, check for a Reach anchor point on the far platform edge — it is usually there. On the return trip, the same method brings you back with the figurines in hand.
The Puzzle Won’t Complete After Placing Everything
Double-check each prop is snapped into its correct marker rather than just dropped nearby. Walk up to each placement spot and ensure the prop is sitting in the highlighted zone. The shuttle must be on the yellow X specifically — not just near it.
