The Ralsei four block switch puzzle in Deltarune Chapter 5 is one of the first moments the game actually makes you stop and think. You have four blocks and four pressure plates in the corners of the room. Every plate has to be pressed at the same time. Push one block into place and another pops off. If you have been shoving blocks around and getting nowhere, this guide gives you the exact solution.
You can play Deltarune on PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch 2. Chapter 5 is available as a free update if you already own the game on any supported platform.
Where This Puzzle Appears in Deltarune Chapter 5
This puzzle is found in the flower shop Dark World, which is the main setting for Chapter 5. You reach it after a floor switch puzzle that requires four players to solve. Susie steps over the spikes to find help, and Flowery ends up joining the party. Shortly after that, you walk into the four block puzzle room.
Before you get here, Flowery will suggest turning off Ralsei’s voice settings in the Config menu. If you follow that suggestion, Ralsei cannot hint at the solution during the puzzle. So if you turned that off, you are on your own — and that is exactly why you are here.
How the Ralsei Four Block Switch Puzzle Works
The room has four blocks sitting near the centre and four pressure plate switches in the four corners. All four plates must be pressed at the same time to open the door. The trick is that blocks can get boxed in against walls if you move them in the wrong order, forcing a reset.

To keep things clear, number the blocks like this:
- Block 1 — top-left
- Block 2 — top-right
- Block 3 — bottom-right
- Block 4 — bottom-left
That is a clockwise count starting from the top-left. Keep those numbers in your head as you push. If you lose track, just recount clockwise from the top-left and you will line back up with the steps below.
Deltarune Chapter 5 Four Block Switch Puzzle Solution
The first two steps are the strict ones. Do not skip them or change the order. The rest has some flexibility, but these two moves set up the whole sequence correctly.
Step 1 — Slide Block 3 One Space to the Left
Push Block 3 (bottom-right) one space to the left. Just one space. Do not push it all the way. This move creates room for the next step to work.
Step 2 — Push Block 4 Up One Space
Push Block 4 (bottom-left) up one space. After this move, blocks 4, 1, and 2 should be lined up in a row together. This is the setup that makes the rest of the puzzle possible.
Step 3 — Move Block 3 to the Bottom-Left Corner Switch
Now push Block 3 all the way to the left, then slide it down until it lands on the pressure plate in the bottom-left corner. That is one switch pressed.

Step 4 — Move the Remaining Blocks to Their Corner Plates
With the setup from Steps 1 and 2 done, you have room to move blocks 1, 2, and 4 onto the remaining three corner plates. You have some freedom in what order you do this, but each block needs to land in a different corner. Get all four corner plates pressed and the door clicks open.
The game gives you real-time feedback. If you make a wrong move, you will hear an incorrect buzzer. That is your sign to stop, think, and either adjust or ring the bell to reset.
How to Reset the Puzzle If You Get Stuck
There is a bell sitting next to Ralsei in the puzzle room. Ring it at any time and every block returns to its starting position. There is no penalty. No fail state. You can reset as many times as you need.
The worst trap is improvising too early. If you start pushing blocks toward corners before completing Steps 1 and 2, a block will get wedged against a wall with no legal move to fix it. Ring the bell and start clean from the top rather than trying to wrestle it back into position.
Also watch out for losing track of which block is which once they start moving around. Re-anchor yourself on the 1-to-4 clockwise numbering after each move. One misidentified block will undo your own progress without you realising it.
What Happens After You Solve the Four Block Puzzle
Once all four corner plates are pressed, the door opens and you move forward into the next section of the flower shop Dark World. The four block puzzle is one of the trickier environmental challenges in this chapter, so clearing it means the puzzle-heavy stretch of this area is behind you.
The rest of Chapter 5 has more encounters and boss fights ahead, including the final battle against Flowery at the end of the chapter.
