Fortnite Gem Sprites Added in Chapter 7 Season 3

Epic Games has kept the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Sprite content rolling hard this week, and the highlight of the whole calendar is the arrival of the Gem Sprites. Nine new crystalline variants dropped into the game on August 6, 2026, and they come with a genuinely useful passive ability on top of their shiny look. If you’ve been building out your Sprite collection since the season started, this week’s event schedule gives you a bunch of windows to track down every variant — so here’s everything you need to know.

What Are Gem Sprites in Fortnite?

Sprites are collectible companion creatures introduced in Fortnite’s current Runners season. You find them out in the world, bring them to an Extraction Site to lock them into your permanent collection, and then spend Sprite Dust to summon them in later matches. Each Sprite carries a passive ability that runs the whole time it’s active. Leveling a Sprite up strengthens that passive and improves the loot it drops, and they can also gain progression through eliminations and surviving Storm phases — so there’s a whole separate loop here beyond just playing for a Victory Royale.

Gem Sprites are the newest variant type to join the roster. Every single Gem Sprite, regardless of which base design it’s built on, grants 30% fall damage reduction during matches. That bonus stacks directly on top of whatever ability the base Sprite already has. So if you’re running a Gem Demon Sprite, you’re getting health and shield siphon from eliminations and a 30% fall damage cut at the same time. The fall damage perk won’t completely change how most matches play out, but in end-game storm circles where positioning matters — or any time you’re dropping from height to push someone — it adds up.

    All Fortnite Gem Sprite Variants

There are nine Gem Sprite variants in total for Chapter 7 Season 3. The Gem Llama Sprite was actually released early as part of the v41.30 update on July 30 and can already be grabbed from Relic Chests. The remaining eight went live on August 6 as part of New Sprite Day. Here’s the full lineup:

    • Gem Llama (released July 30 in v41.30 update)
    • Gem Water
    • Gem Earth
    • Gem Demon
    • Gem Duck
    • Gem Aura
    • Gem Zero Point
    • Gem Grim

Note that Gem Punk was rumoured to be part of the lineup based on earlier leaks, but it did not make the final cut when New Sprite Day went live on August 6. Nine variants is still a solid batch to chase down if you’re the completionist type.

Where to Find Gem Sprites — All Spawn Locations

Gem Sprites are not all found in the same places, which means you’ll need to adjust your drop spot depending on which variant you’re hunting. Here’s a breakdown of where each one tends to spawn:

    • Gem Water — appears around harbors and shoreline areas
    • Gem Earth — found in forested zones and wooded areas of the map
    • Gem Aura — favors mountainous terrain at elevation
    • Gem Duck — can appear inside the Mogul Vault
    • Gem Demon — tied to Sprite Chests scattered across the map
    • Gem Grim — also drops from Sprite Chests
    • Gem Zero Point — found in both Sprite Chests and Relic Chests
    • Gem Llama — available from Relic Chests (live since July 30)

Generally speaking, Sprite Chests, Relic Chests, and Vaults are your best farming options. Spawn rates vary by variant, so some Gem Sprites are going to be notably harder to lock down than others — especially Gem Duck sitting behind the Mogul Vault entrance. If you have a Peeky Peely Sprite leveled to Tier 5, use it during your runs as it expands the range at which it can detect nearby Sprites and mark enemies carrying them. Sprite trading with friends who have duplicates is also a solid option to fill in gaps.

Full Fortnite Sprite Week Event Schedule — August 3 to August 8

Epic Games announced the full event calendar for this week’s Sprite content through the official Fortnite Twitter account on August 2, 2026. The schedule is packed from Monday through Saturday and is designed to give players consistent windows to farm, level, and collect Sprites all week long.

    • Monday, August 3 — Mastery Monday: Boosted spawn rates for Legendary and Mythic tier Sprites, plus double Sprite XP and double Sprite Dust for a full 24-hour window starting at 9 AM ET. This is the best day of the week to grind Dust since every extraction and leveling action is worth twice as much.
    • Tuesday, August 4 — Peely Hours: Two one-hour sessions at 4 PM ET and 11 PM ET, boosting spawn rates for Holofoil and Gummy Peely Sprite variants.
    • Wednesday, August 5 — Peely Hours: Same two-session format at 4 PM ET and 11 PM ET, this time with boosted rates for Gold and Galaxy Peely Sprite variants.
    • Thursday, August 6 — New Sprite Day: The main event. All eight new Gem Sprites went live at 9 AM ET with temporarily boosted spawn rates to help players start grabbing them from the jump.
    • Saturday, August 8 — Gem Hours: Two Power Hour sessions at 2 PM ET and 9 PM ET, each giving increased chances to find Gem Sprite variants. If you didn’t finish your Gem collection on Thursday, Saturday is your next best shot.

If you can only play on one day this week, Saturday’s Gem Hours are arguably the priority for collection hunters. The boosted rates make chasing down rarer variants like Gem Duck or Gem Zero Point significantly more manageable than trying to RNG your way into them on normal spawn cycles.

Why Sprites Matter in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3

Epic has clearly committed to Sprites as a core long-term system for the Runners season, not just a temporary mechanic. The collection screen, multiple rarity tiers, variant types — Base, Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, Holofoil, Gem, Quack, Cube — and recurring weekly events all point to this being a system that’s going to evolve throughout the season rather than quietly fade out.

The progression loop itself is well designed. Bringing a Sprite to an Extraction Site adds it permanently to your collection. Spending Sprite Dust to resummon it in later matches is the ongoing resource sink. Leveling the Sprite up through match activity — kills, Storm phase survival — strengthens the passive ability and improves loot quality. That gives you something to work toward even in matches where you’re not specifically Sprite hunting.

The Mastery track also ties into free Battle Pass cosmetics, Portable Extractors, and extra Sprite Dust, so there’s incentive to engage with the system beyond just filling out the checklist. If you haven’t looked at the Sprite Mastery challenges yet, they’re worth checking before you burn all your Dust on resummoning.

Quick Tips for Gem Sprite Farming This Week

    • Prioritize Gem Hours on Saturday, August 8 — the two sessions at 2 PM ET and 9 PM ET are your best windows for boosted Gem Sprite rates outside of New Sprite Day itself.
    • Use a Peeky Peely Sprite at level 5 to extend detection range for nearby Sprite Chests and enemy players carrying Sprites.
    • Trade duplicates with friends — the trading system accepts all Sprite types, so if you pull two Gem Waters, swap one for a variant you’re missing.
    • Stock up on Sprite Dust during Mastery Monday — every leveling action on Mondays is worth double, so bank as much Dust as you can for resummons later in the week.
    • Target the Mogul Vault specifically for Gem Duck — it’s the only spawn location for that variant, so plan your route with vault access in mind.
