TL;DR

  • There are 5 Bonsai Trees hidden in the Infiltration mission.
  • The first tree is unmissable — it is part of the story progression.
  • Trees 2, 3, 4, and 5 are easy to miss if you rush the main objective.
  • Collecting all 5 unlocks the Bonsai Tree Batcave Trophy.
  • There is also 1 Red Brick hidden in a secret pressure plate room.
  • You can replay the mission anytime from the Batcomputer if you miss any.

The Infiltration mission is the first level in LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight where collectibles actually matter. It drops you into the League of Shadows fortress with Bruce Wayne and Talia, and five Bonsai Trees are hidden across the level. Miss any of them and you will need to replay the whole mission. This guide covers every Bonsai Tree location in order, plus the hidden Red Brick, so you can clear everything in one run.

If you are playing with a friend, check out our guide on how to play co-op in LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight — the Red Brick puzzle near the end of this level actually requires two players to solve.

What Are Bonsai Trees in LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight?

Bonsai Trees are the collectible trophies for the Infiltration mission. Each mission in the game has its own set of collectibles that unlock a Batcave Trophy when you find them all. In Infiltration, there are five Bonsai Trees spread across the level. Finding all five earns you the Bonsai Tree Batcave Trophy, which you can use to decorate the Batcave hub area.

The level also contains one Red Brick, which is tucked inside a hidden room near the end of the mission. Red Bricks in this game unlock suit color customization options rather than traditional cheats.

All 5 Infiltration Bonsai Tree Locations

Bonsai Tree 1 — The Chandelier Room (Unmissable)

The very first Bonsai Tree is part of the story. You cannot miss it.

At the start of the mission, you sneak through the underground vent system to get past the guards. Once you emerge on the other side, you will see a Bonsai Tree blocking a vent grate. You need to clear it to progress. In the room ahead, throw a shuriken at the rope holding the chandelier. The chandelier crashes down and automatically destroys the first Bonsai Tree. The game uses this as a collectible tutorial, so it is impossible to skip.

Bonsai Tree 2 — The Dojo Courtyard (Under the Ledge)

Right after the first Bonsai Tree, you move into a large open courtyard full of enemies broken into four sections separated by walkways. This is one of the easiest trees to miss because the level pushes you forward toward the throne room.

Once you clear the enemies in the courtyard, drop down from the central platform and turn left. Drop down again to the lower level. A single guard patrols near the second Bonsai Tree, and a trail of gold studs leads directly to it. Destroy the tree before moving on.

Bonsai Tree 3 — After the Bed Trampoline (Left Path)

This one hides just before you head outside during the main mission objective. You will reach a room with a light puzzle where you build a winch to pull out a bed and use it as a trampoline to reach a higher floor.

After bouncing up on the bed and reaching the upper walkway, do not go straight ahead into the next area. Instead, turn left and follow the trail of gold studs along the walkway. The third Bonsai Tree is waiting at the end of that path. The gold studs are a hint, but it is still easy to walk past this if you are moving fast.

Bonsai Tree 4 — After the Spinning Symbol Puzzle (Turn Around)

This one catches a lot of players off guard because it is directly behind you after a scripted sequence.

Further into the level, you will reach a wall puzzle where you spin four pieces of the League of Shadows logo until they match. Solving the puzzle opens a hole in the wall. Crawl through it and drop down to the floor below. The moment you land, turn around 180 degrees. The fourth Bonsai Tree is directly behind you. Another trail of gold studs points toward it. If you walk forward without looking back, you will miss it entirely.

Bonsai Tree 5 — After the Ra’s al Ghul Boss Fight (Turn Left)

The final Bonsai Tree is just after the first boss fight with Ra’s al Ghul. Once you defeat him, Bruce and Talia are dropped into a large open cave area with enemies guarding the exit.

When Talia says “We need to leave now,” do not rush toward the exit. Instead, look left immediately. The fifth Bonsai Tree is tucked away among some crates and boxes on the left side of the cave. It is slightly off the main path, so grab it before you trigger the escape sequence. Once you move too far forward, you lose the chance to go back.

Infiltration Red Brick Location — The Pressure Plate Room

The Infiltration Red Brick is hidden in a secret room and is the trickiest collectible in the whole mission. You also need two characters to get it, so it is much easier in co-op.

Here is how to reach it step by step:

  1. After the mountain path section, build the ballista (the large crossbow) to create a way across the clearing.
  2. Instead of climbing up through the main temple entrance, shimmy along the ledge to the right and keep going past the door.
  3. Drop down to the cliff edge and crawl through the small hole in the wall.
  4. Inside you will find a secret room with four pressure plates.
  5. Use your detective vision to highlight the nearby stacks of books.
  6. Place the two book stacks on two of the pressure plates.
  7. Stand on the third plate and have Talia (or your co-op partner) stand on the fourth.
  8. Once all four plates are pressed at the same time, the Red Brick will appear between the statues.

Make sure you grab the Red Brick before dropping from the crawlspace near the end of the temple. You cannot go back for it once you fall through that section.

The Ninja Red Brick unlocks a gray and green color palette for suit customization. It only applies once you take on the role of Batman and does not affect Bruce Wayne or Talia’s training outfits.

What Do You Get for Collecting All Bonsai Trees?

Finding all five Bonsai Trees completes the collectible challenge for the Infiltration mission. Your reward is the Bonsai Tree Batcave Trophy, a decorative item you can place inside the Batcave hub area. It also counts toward your overall completion percentage for the mission.

Both the Bonsai Trees and the Red Brick contribute to 100% mission completion. If you are going for full completion across the whole game, clearing these in your first run saves you from having to replay later.

Can You Replay Infiltration to Get Missed Bonsai Trees?

Yes. If you miss any Bonsai Trees on your first playthrough, you can replay the Infiltration mission from the Batcomputer at any time. None of the collectibles are permanently missable. However, there is one thing worth knowing: the mission replay function is not available immediately after you finish Infiltration. You will need to progress a bit further in the game before it unlocks. That is why it is worth grabbing everything in one clean run using this guide.

Replaying in Free Play mode can be easier for collectible hunting since you can focus entirely on finding items without worrying about story pacing or combat pressure.

Quick Tips for Finding All Infiltration Collectibles

  • Slow down after every scripted event. Most Bonsai Trees appear right after a puzzle or cutscene where the game tries to rush you forward.
  • Follow the gold studs. The game uses trails of gold studs to hint at nearby collectibles. If you see a trail leading away from the main path, follow it.
  • Turn around after drops. Trees 4 and 5 both require you to look in the opposite direction from where the game points you. Make it a habit to check behind you after every drop or landing.
  • Bring a co-op partner for the Red Brick. The pressure plate puzzle requires two characters at once, making it much easier with a second player.
  • Use detective vision. It highlights interactive objects like the books in the Red Brick room and can help you spot items you might otherwise walk past.

Note

All five Bonsai Trees in the Infiltration mission are findable in a single run if you know where to look. The first tree is automatic. The rest require short detours that the game hints at with gold stud trails. The trickiest part is remembering to look left or turn around after key story moments instead of rushing ahead.

The Red Brick puzzle is the most involved collectible in the mission, but it is very manageable once you know the room location and the pressure plate solution. Grab everything in one go and you will never need to replay Infiltration for collectibles again.
