Nintendo’s June 9, 2026 Direct was one of the most packed showcases the company has held in years. By the time the presentation wrapped up, 33 games had been officially confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 — a mix of brand-new entries, heavily requested ports, remasters, remakes, and Switch 2 Editions of games already on the platform. Here’s the full rundown of everything announced, with release dates where confirmed.
The Headliners
A few announcements stood out above the rest and will drive the most conversation heading into the rest of 2026 and 2027.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake was confirmed as a Switch 2 exclusive launching later in 2026. Rumors about this one had been circulating for a long time, and Nintendo finally made it official. No specific release date beyond 2026 has been given, though many are bracing for a September or holiday window.
Kingdom Hearts IV got a surprise new look via a short trailer showcasing action-packed gameplay set in a modern city. Still no release date, but after years of near-silence the series faithful now have confirmation it’s coming. Separately, the Kingdom Hearts 1-3 Collection was confirmed for Switch 2 on October 8, with save data transferable from the Switch versions.
Xenoblade Genesis, a brand-new entry in Monolith Soft’s RPG series, is coming to Switch 2 in 2027. Switch 2 Editions of Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 were also announced, giving the entire trilogy a stronger presence on the new hardware simultaneously.
Final Fantasy Resonance, a new HD-2D title set in the world of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, was confirmed for October 22, 2026 on Switch 2 and other platforms. It features characters from across the Final Fantasy franchise as summonable Visions in battle.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen arrives on Switch 2 on October 9, bringing the expanded version of Capcom’s open-world action RPG — including the new Norgan region — to Nintendo hardware for the first time.
New Entries and Original Games
Beyond ports and remakes, several genuinely new games were confirmed during the showcase.
Xenoblade Genesis (2027) is the freshest first-party announcement, developed by Monolith Soft as a new chapter in the series rather than a continuation of the Chronicles timeline.
Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet is coming Spring 2027, taking the bubble gum battle royale series to a new alien planet setting with four-player co-op battles built in from the start.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches September 17, 2026 — a new entry in the strategy RPG series where four heroes arrive at the Dagdan Empire to compete in a tournament, with the winner granted a single wish.
Lords of the Fallen 2 is confirmed as a Switch 2 launch title with a Fall 2026 window, arriving day one on Nintendo’s platform alongside other platforms.
Pikuniku 2 expands the weird puzzle-exploration world of the original into full 3D for the first time, described as “filled with whimsy.”
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom and the Guide of Memories is a new entry in Koei Tecmo’s long-running Atelier RPG series, arriving in Early 2027.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet is a restaurant management simulator set in the One Piece universe, coming to both Switch and Switch 2.
Big Walk is an online co-op walking simulator where players navigate environments together, solve puzzles, and explore. It launches August 4, 2026.
Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton, developed by Vampire Survivors creator poncle, is the newly invented Survivors Royale genre applied to the JJK universe. Up to eight players compete in auto-attacking bullet heaven runs against Cursed Spirits, with the final two players dueling 1v1 to decide the winner. Major Third-Party Ports
This is where the June 9 Direct arguably did the most work for Switch 2’s library reputation. Nintendo systems haven’t always attracted the heavier end of third-party games quickly, and this showcase pushed back against that pattern hard.
Stellar Blade is coming to Switch 2 in 2026, with Joy-Con 2 motion controls supported for specific activities. Shift Up’s action game was previously a PS5 exclusive.
Lies of P: Complete Edition launches on Switch 2 on August 6, including the Overture DLC that expands the Soulslike’s story content. This is the game’s first Nintendo release.
Metaphor: ReFantazio — Atlus’s acclaimed 2024 RPG — is confirmed for Switch 2 with a Fall 2026 window.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is coming to Switch 2 for Holiday 2026, bringing the co-op third-person action game to Nintendo hardware for the first time.
Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition launches on Switch 2 on June 23 — the earliest release date of any game in the showcase — with additional content included beyond the base game.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the long-awaited return of Capcom’s samurai action series, is confirmed for Switch 2 on September 25 with optional Joy-Con 2 motion controls exclusive to the Switch 2 version.
DayZ brings its hardcore open-world survival experience to Switch 2, giving the platform its first entry in that particularly punishing genre.
SnowRunner and RuneScape: Dragonwilds add long-form multiplayer and survival-crafting options, filling gaps in the Switch 2 library that aren’t well covered by Nintendo’s own first-party slate.
Rise of the Tomb Raider arrives on Switch 2, giving Lara Croft another Nintendo platform to adventure on.
Observer: System Redux launches on Switch 2 on June 18, making it one of the first games from the Direct to actually hit stores.
Remasters and Re-Releases Worth Noting
Muramasa: Revenant Blades is the Switch 2 port of Vanillaware’s 2009 action game, originally released as Muramasa: The Demon Blade on Wii and later on Vita. This marks its first release on modern hardware and arrives Early 2027.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 was confirmed for Switch 2, continuing the series’ presence on Nintendo platforms following Vol. 1.
Tales of Eternia Remastered brings back one of the most beloved entries in Bandai Namco’s long-running RPG series, making it more accessible than ever — the original PS1 game never officially released in Europe at all.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World was also confirmed, launching in 2027 and continuing Square Enix’s strong Switch 2 support that’s already building with Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster in July and Final Fantasy Resonance in October. Family, Casual, and Multiplayer Games
Nintendo also made sure Switch 2 has options beyond the hardcore audience.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort expands on the original Switch Sports with new activities and settings, targeting the casual audience that made Wii Sports Resort a cultural phenomenon.
Fitness Boxing 3 continues the workout game series on Switch 2, adding a new reason for non-gamers to pick up the console.
Sanrio Party Land brings Hello Kitty and friends to Switch 2 in a party game format.
Everbloom and Minecraft round out the broader lineup — Minecraft in particular adding one of the best-selling games of all time to the Switch 2 library officially.

Between the Zelda remake, Xenoblade Genesis, a full year of major third-party ports, and franchise continuations across RPGs, action games, and survival titles, the Switch 2 library is shaping up in a way the original Switch didn’t achieve until well into its second year.
