Palworld Ancient Technology Points are some of the rarest resources in the game. You cannot grind them like regular Tech Points. They only come from a few specific sources. If you do not know where to look, you will run out fast. This guide covers every way to get them, the full list of bosses that drop them, and the best items to spend them on.

What Are Ancient Technology Points in Palworld?

Ancient Technology Points are a separate currency from regular Technology Points. They appear as a purple section in the Technology menu. You use them to unlock powerful recipes that normal points cannot buy. Things like the Grappling Gun, Egg Incubator, and Feed Bags all cost Ancient Technology Points.

Regular Tech Points come from levelling up and unlocking fast travel points. Ancient Tech Points are much harder to collect. You are limited to a fixed pool of them in the game — there is no infinite farming method. Because of this, every point matters.

How to Get Ancient Technology Points in Palworld

There are three ways to get Ancient Technology Points. Knowing all three will help you maximise your total count.

1. Defeat Alpha Boss Pals

Palworld has oversized, powered-up versions of regular Pals called Alpha Bosses. They are marked on the world map with large icons. Defeat or capture one for the first time and you get 1 Ancient Technology Point.

These bosses respawn after some time. But here is the important part — the second time you fight the same Alpha, you get no more Ancient Tech Points. You only earn the point once per unique Alpha Boss.

Each Alpha also drops Ancient Civilization Parts every time you beat it, which you need to craft Ancient Technology items. So farming respawned Alphas is still worth doing for those parts, just not for points.

As of the current version with all updates, there are over 69 unique Alpha Boss encounters across Palpagos, Sakurajima, Feybreak, and the newer regions. That is a lot of potential points if you are willing to explore every area of the map.

2. Defeat Tower Bosses

Tower Bosses are the biggest source of Ancient Technology Points in the game. Each Tower Boss gives you 5 Ancient Technology Points the first time you beat them. Like Alpha Bosses, this reward only triggers once per tower.

With Palworld 1.0, there are now 9 Tower Bosses in total. That is up to 45 Ancient Technology Points from towers alone if you beat them all. Here is the full list in order by level:

• Zoe and Grizzbolt – Level 10, Electric-type. Rayne Syndicate Tower, Windswept Hills. Counter with Ground Pals.
• Lily and Lyleen – Level 20, Grass-type. Free Pal Alliance Tower. Counter with Fire Pals.
• Axel and Orserk – Level 30, Electric-type. Brothers of the Eternal Pyre Tower. Counter with Ground Pals.
• Marcus and Faleris – Level 40, Fire-type. PIDF Tower. Counter with Water Pals.
• Victor and Shadowbeak – Level 50, Dark-type. PAL Genetic Research Unit Tower. Counter with Dragon Pals.
• Saya and Selyne – Level 55. Moonflower Tower, Sakurajima Island.
• Bjorn and Bastigor – Level 60, Ice-type. Feybreak Tower, Frozen Coral Hill. Counter with Fire Pals.
• Auri and Shaolong – Level 68, Water and Dragon-type. Azure Covenant Tower, Sunreach. Counter with Electric and Ice Pals. Must defeat Bjorn and Bastigor first and disable six Defense Modules to access.
• Zenara and Astralym – Level 80, no elemental weakness. Sealed Sanctum at the World Tree. Requires completing the Sealed Calamity questline and defeating all other towers.

Tower fights have a time limit, so bring strong Pals with the right elemental advantage. Always unlock the tower entrance as a fast travel point before you go in. That way, if you die, you can respawn at the door and try again quickly.

3. Find Ancient Technical Manuals

Ancient Technical Manuals are consumable items. Use one and you get 1 Ancient Technology Point added instantly. They are a great bonus source of points, especially once you have cleared most bosses.

You can find them in:

• Dungeon chests – Chests at the end of dungeons, especially on Sakurajima Island, have a chance to drop them.
• Wildlife Sanctuary chests – Chests inside Wildlife Sanctuaries also drop them with some regularity.
• Raid Boss rewards – Defeating Raid Bosses like Bellanoir can drop Ancient Technical Manuals.

These are not guaranteed drops, but running dungeons regularly will add up over time. Stick to higher-level dungeons for the best chance.

What Ancient Technology Points Cannot Come From

A lot of players waste time trying to get Ancient Tech Points from the wrong sources. Here is what does not work:

• Dungeon bosses do not count — regular dungeon clear bosses give no points, only the Alpha that appears as a world map icon counts.
• Fast travel points give regular Tech Points, not Ancient ones.
• Repeat kills do not reward points — only the first defeat or capture of each unique boss counts.
• Levelling up does not give Ancient Tech Points — that only gives regular Technology Points.

Best Ancient Technology Items to Spend Points On

• Small Feed Bag – Unlocks early and lets you carry food for yourself and your Pals. Very useful during long exploration sessions.
• Egg Incubator – One of the most important unlocks in the game. It lets you hatch Pal eggs much faster, which is key if you want strong Pals through breeding.
• Grappling Gun – A game-changer for mobility. You can reach high spots, escape danger, and move across terrain quickly. It also works when you are over-encumbered.

Mid to Late Game Priorities

• Mega Grappling Gun and Hyper Grappling Gun – Upgraded versions with better range and speed.
• Average and Large Feed Bags – Upgrade your food storage as you take on longer explorations.
• Pal Essence Condenser – Used to enhance Pals and push their stats higher. Very important for late-game power.
• Summoning Altar – Needed to trigger Raid Bosses, which are a way to earn even more Ancient Technical Manuals.

Palworld 1.0 Late-Game Unlocks

• Triple Jump Boots – Costs 6 Ancient Tech Points at level 70. Great for vertical mobility.
• Soralite Quarry – Costs 7 points at level 72. Useful for resource production.
• Ancient Hatchery – Costs 8 points at level 76.
• Wing Pack – Costs 9 points at level 80. The most expensive single unlock in the tree.

The 1.0 update expanded the tech tree significantly, so save points for the higher-cost items if you are pushing toward max level.

Tips for Getting Ancient Technology Points Fast

There is no single exploit or cheat to farm Ancient Tech Points quickly. But you can be smart about how you collect them.

• Prioritise Tower Bosses first. They give 5 points each and are the highest-value source. Start with the lowest level tower and work your way up in order.
• Level up before challenging bosses. Hitting a boss underlevelled wastes time. Get your gear and Pals to a solid state before heading to the next tower.
• Bring type advantages. Electric, Ice, Fire — always match your Pals to exploit the boss’s weakness. This makes fights faster and reduces the risk of failing the time limit.
• Explore every biome. New regions like Feybreak and Sakurajima have additional Alpha Bosses with their own first-kill points. Do not skip entire areas of the map.
• Run dungeons on Sakurajima. The chests there have the best chance of dropping Ancient Technical Manuals. Do these regularly once you can handle the level.
• Capture, do not just kill. Capturing an Alpha Boss still gives you the point and also gives you a potentially strong Pal. Double reward.
