Method 1: Pick from Skill Fruit Trees
This is the most common and reliable source. Skill Fruit Trees are found all over the Palpagos Islands. They look different from every other tree in the game. They have a glowing blue glow, bare branches, and fruits hanging from them. You cannot cut them down.
To pick a fruit, walk up to the tree, aim at one of the hanging fruits, and press E on PC or X on controller. Each tree holds 3 fruits per cycle. Once picked, you have to wait for them to respawn.
Trees respawn roughly every 6 to 8 real-world hours, though the exact timer depends on your world settings. If you are on a private server, you can adjust the respawn rate to farm faster.
The fruits are randomized. Any tree can drop any element. But higher-level zones tend to produce higher-tier fruits. The northern desert and icy areas give much better drops than the starting forest zones.

How the Skillfruit Orchard Works
After building the orchard, place one Skill Fruit inside it. This acts as the seed. The orchard will then grow a tree that produces more fruits of that exact same type. You are effectively duplicating the fruit you put in.
There are two phases to the growth cycle:
- Watering Phase: Assign up to two Pals with the Watering work suitability to the orchard. The higher their Watering level, the faster this phase goes. Even with Level 4 Watering Pals, this takes a while.
- Growth Phase: After watering is done, you simply wait. This can take several in-game days to complete.

Also note that the Skillfruit Orchard has some exclusive drops. Holy Burst and Flame Funnel skill fruits are only obtainable through the Skillfruit Orchard, not from wild trees.
How to Use Skill Fruits in Palworld
Using a Skill Fruit is simple but make sure the right Pal is in your party before you do it, because the fruit is consumed on use and cannot be undone.
- Open your inventory.
- Right-click (or press the Use button) on the Skill Fruit.
- A menu appears asking you to choose which Pal in your party will learn the skill.
- Select your Pal and confirm.
Your Pal now knows the skill. A Pal can hold up to 3 active skills equipped at a time, but you can learn more than 3 and swap freely through the Party menu or at any Palbox at no extra cost.
Can You Use Any Skill Fruit on Any Pal?
Yes. There are no restrictions. A water Pal can learn a fire skill. A grass Pal can learn a dragon skill. Element type does not lock you out of any skill fruit. You can even use them on captured Humans.
That said, there is a STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) in the game. If your Pal shares the same element as the active skill, that attack deals slightly more damage. So matching elements is good for optimization, but it is not required.

- Build a base near a Skill Fruit Tree. Place a Palbox, build a base there, and assign a Pal with Gathering Work Suitability to that base.
