Pokemon Is Releasing a Brand-New Ditto Design on November 6
Ditto has transformed into plenty of different Pokemon over the years, but its latest appearance might be one of the cutest yet. The Pokemon Company is getting ready to release a special Ditto promo card as part of the Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration Ditto Premium Collection, and this time, the little purple blob is taking on the appearance of Cherubi.
The upcoming collection officially launches on November 6, 2026, giving Pokemon fans another interesting anniversary product to add to their collections. The standout attraction is undoubtedly the new Ditto card, which features the familiar Ditto expression incorporated into a Cherubi-inspired design.
It’s a particularly fun concept because Ditto’s ability to transform into other Pokemon has always been one of its most recognizable characteristics. We’ve seen the Pokemon imitate plenty of popular creatures through the anime, trading cards, and merchandise, but this new Cherubi-themed artwork offers another creative take on the transformation gimmick.
The collection is also arriving at an interesting time. Pokemon is celebrating its 30th anniversary throughout 2026, and The Pokemon Company has been releasing special products and collaborations to mark three decades of the franchise.
Between the anniversary trading card expansion, Pokemon Pokopia, and various collectible releases, there’s certainly no shortage of Pokemon merchandise for fans this year.
You can find the full product details on The Pokemon Company’s official Ditto Premium Collection page.
Pokemon TCG’s New Ditto Promo Card Features a Cherubi Transformation
Let’s talk about the main attraction because the new Ditto card is genuinely adorable.
Instead of featuring Ditto in its usual appearance, the promo artwork shows the Pokemon taking on a Cherubi-inspired form. It maintains Ditto’s familiar facial expression while blending it with the appearance of the Grass-type Pokemon.
It’s exactly the kind of silly design that makes Ditto such an entertaining Pokemon. Its transformations don’t always have to be perfect, and the recognizable face is a big part of what makes these appearances so funny.
The new artwork also fits perfectly with the idea behind the Pokemon TCG’s 30th anniversary celebration. Rather than simply releasing another standard Ditto card, The Pokemon Company is giving collectors something visually distinctive that stands out from the usual promo designs.
There’s a gameplay element to the card, too. The promo features an attack called Surprisingly Transform, which plays into Ditto’s famous ability to transform into another Pokemon.
The attack allows players to flip a coin and, if successful, search their deck for another Pokemon to switch with Ditto. It is a fitting mechanic for a Pokemon that can imitate practically anything.
For collectors, though, the artwork is likely to be the biggest reason to pick up this particular collection. Special Ditto illustrations have always been fun to discover, and the Cherubi-inspired design gives this promo its own personality.
What’s Included in the Pokemon 30th Celebration Ditto Premium Collection?
The new Ditto product isn’t just about getting one special promo card. The Premium Collection also includes several extras, making it a fairly substantial package for Pokemon TCG collectors.
Here’s everything included in the box:
- 1 Ditto promo card: The exclusive card featuring the new Cherubi-inspired transformation artwork.
- 1 acrylic card display: A colorful display stand designed to showcase the included Ditto promo or another favorite Pokemon card.
- 8 Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration booster packs: Eight packs from the special anniversary expansion, giving collectors additional opportunities to discover new cards.
- 1 Pokemon TCG Live code card: A digital code that can be redeemed in the online trading card game.
The acrylic display is a nice addition, particularly for collectors who prefer keeping their favorite promo cards protected and visible instead of leaving them inside a binder.
It also gives the collection a little more personality than a regular booster bundle. You can use the display for Ditto or swap in another card from your collection whenever you feel like changing things up.
Pokemon Ditto Premium Collection Price Is $39.99, but Scalpers Are Already a Concern
The Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration Ditto Premium Collection has a US suggested retail price of $39.99.
Considering that the box includes eight booster packs, an exclusive promo card, an acrylic display, and a digital code, the official price is fairly reasonable compared to some of the more expensive anniversary products.
Unfortunately, Pokemon collectors know that special releases can become difficult to purchase once demand starts exceeding available stock.
The Ditto Premium Collection has already attracted considerable attention in the resale market. According to SetPulls’ October 15 tracking of TCGplayer listings, its pre-release market price was approximately $192.70, nearly five times the $39.99 US MSRP.
That’s a huge difference, especially for a product that hasn’t even officially launched yet. These figures represent pre-release market pricing rather than the official retail price, and they shouldn’t be treated as a guarantee of what the collection will sell for after November 6.
It’s also worth remembering that resale prices can change considerably once more retailers receive stock and the product becomes available to the wider public.
The Pokemon Company has previously acknowledged problems with high demand affecting Pokemon TCG availability. In an official statement, the company said it was working to increase production and replenish impacted products through participating retailers.
Collectors should therefore check the Pokemon Center and authorized retailers before paying significantly more than the suggested retail price.
Ditto Has Become One of Pokemon’s Most Entertaining Collectible Characters
One reason this particular promo card is getting attention is that Ditto has developed a pretty entertaining identity beyond its original role in the Pokemon games.
Its ability to transform into practically any other Pokemon gives artists and merchandise designers plenty of opportunities to experiment with different appearances.
We’ve already seen Ditto take the shape of several popular Pokemon through official plush collections, including Gengar, Eevee and its evolutions, Snorlax, Spiritomb, and Mimikyu.
Some of those transformations are particularly amusing because Ditto doesn’t always get the details quite right. Its recognizable face sometimes looks hilariously out of place on Pokemon with very different appearances.
That’s part of the charm, though. Fans have come to appreciate the slightly imperfect Ditto transformations, and the new Cherubi-inspired promo continues that tradition.
There are also some limitations to the concept. Pokemon with unusual body shapes, multiple faces, or features that don’t naturally work with Ditto’s appearance might be more difficult to adapt into this particular style.
Still, Cherubi is a great choice. Its rounded berry-like appearance makes the transformation especially amusing, and the result feels right at home among the more playful Pokemon TCG anniversary cards.
Pokemon’s 30th Anniversary Celebration Still Has More Releases Planned
The Ditto Premium Collection is just one part of a much larger celebration happening throughout 2026.
The Pokemon franchise has been marking its 30th anniversary with several major releases, including the Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration expansion, special merchandise, collaborations, and new gaming experiences.
One of the biggest gaming releases this year has been Pokemon Pokopia, which puts players in control of a Ditto taking on a human-like appearance. The game focuses on building a welcoming environment for Pokemon, making it a slightly different experience from the traditional mainline adventures.
Ditto’s continued presence in Pokemon’s anniversary celebrations is particularly fitting. Whether it’s appearing as the main character in Pokopia or receiving a new transformation-themed trading card, the little Pokemon has found plenty of ways to remain relevant.
There is also a mysterious Pokemon social media countdown expected to reach its conclusion on November 30, 2026. Fans have been speculating about a possible announcement involving Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, although The Pokemon Company hasn’t confirmed what the countdown is leading towards.
That means there could still be more surprises waiting for fans before the anniversary celebrations eventually wind down.
Should Pokemon TCG Collectors Pick Up the New Ditto Premium Collection?
For collectors who enjoy unusual Pokemon promo cards, the new Ditto Premium Collection looks like a pretty appealing release.
The Cherubi-inspired artwork is the obvious highlight, but getting eight anniversary booster packs and an acrylic display alongside it makes the package more interesting than a standalone promotional card.
I’d personally be more interested in picking this up at its official retail price rather than paying inflated resale prices. The artwork is fun, and the collection offers a nice anniversary keepsake, but there’s no reason to encourage the resale market by spending several times the suggested price before the product has even reached stores.
The good news is that the official launch is just around the corner. Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration Ditto Premium Collection arrives on November 6, 2026, at the Pokemon Center and participating retailers where Pokemon trading card products are sold.
For anyone who has been waiting for another special Ditto card, this is definitely one release worth keeping an eye on.
And with Pokemon’s 30th anniversary still bringing new surprises, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more unusual collectible designs arrive before the year comes to an end.
