Pokemon Pokopia Dazzling Decorations DLC Officially Launches on December 9

Pokemon Pokopia players won’t have to wait much longer for another reason to spend countless hours building their perfect Pokemon paradise. The Pokemon Company has officially confirmed that the second part of the game’s paid Expansion Pass, called Dazzling Decorations, will launch on December 9, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2.

And this time, the focus is all about making your Pokemon look good. The upcoming expansion introduces a proper dress-up feature, allowing players to accessorize Ditto and the Pokemon living in their towns with different outfits and accessories. We’re talking sunglasses, bow ties, ribbons, and more.

That’s not everything coming with the update, either. Dazzling Decorations will also introduce additional Pokemon and furniture, giving players even more ways to personalize their little Pokemon communities.

The release date was confirmed on November 4 through the official Pokemon channels, finally giving Expansion Pass owners a date to look forward to. The expansion is the second of three planned content drops, following the previously released Bubbly Basin.

You can check out the official Pokemon announcement for Dazzling Decorations for the latest details.

Dazzling Decorations Introduces a New Dress-Up Feature

Let’s be honest, one of the most enjoyable parts of Pokemon Pokopia is watching different Pokemon settle into the towns players have spent so much time building. Giving those little residents even more personality through customization sounds like a pretty great addition.

That’s exactly what Dazzling Decorations is bringing to the game.

For the first time, players will be able to dress up Ditto and their Pokemon friends using a selection of wearable accessories. The feature isn’t limited to the main playable character, meaning the Pokemon living around your settlements can also get their own fashionable looks.

Some of the accessories already revealed include:

    • Sunglasses: Give Ditto and other Pokemon a cool new look while exploring the world.
    • Bow ties: Add a little style to your Pokemon friends with classy neck accessories.
    • Sylveon ribbons: Let Ditto match other Pokemon through accessories inspired by their appearance.
    • Additional accessories: More customization options are planned, with further details expected closer to launch.

The Sylveon ribbon is particularly interesting because it suggests that some accessories will be designed to match specific Pokemon rather than simply offering generic cosmetics.

The official promotional material also shows different Pokemon wearing accessories, including a Snubbull sporting a red bow tie. It’s a fun little detail, especially for players who enjoy making their towns feel more lively and personalized.

Hopefully, the full expansion includes plenty of combinations rather than just a handful of cosmetic options. Having the ability to give different Pokemon their own distinctive styles could make revisiting your settlements even more enjoyable.

Doduo, Skitty, and Braixen Are Coming to Pokemon Pokopia

Of course, customization isn’t the only reason to get excited about Dazzling Decorations. The expansion is also bringing additional Pokemon into the game.

Three of the Pokemon already revealed through the expansion’s trailer are Doduo, Skitty, and Braixen.

Doduo is the familiar two-headed bird Pokemon that fans will recognize from the original generations. Skitty, meanwhile, is a much more adorable addition, while Braixen brings another interesting character from the Kalos region into the mix.

These additions should give players more reasons to experiment with habitats and explore different ways of attracting Pokemon to their towns.

It’s worth noting that The Pokemon Company hasn’t yet provided a complete list of every Pokemon arriving with Part 2. The three revealed creatures are only the ones currently confirmed through the available trailer footage, so there could be more surprises waiting for players when the expansion launches.

Alongside the additional Pokemon, Dazzling Decorations will introduce more furniture and decorative items. That should be welcome news for anyone who has already spent hours arranging their buildings, habitats, and outdoor spaces.

Will Dazzling Decorations Add a New Town?

Unfortunately, players hoping to explore an entirely new location with Dazzling Decorations might want to keep their expectations in check.

Unlike the previous Bubbly Basin expansion, Part 2 will not introduce a new town or major explorable area. Instead, the focus is on customization, additional Pokemon, furniture, and other smaller additions to the existing experience.

That’s an important distinction because the first expansion gave players a completely new underwater location to explore and develop. Dazzling Decorations is taking a different approach, offering more ways to interact with the Pokemon and environments players have already created.

However, there’s still another major content drop planned after this one. The third part of the Expansion Pass is scheduled for 2027 and is expected to introduce another new town for players to explore and rebuild.

So, while December’s expansion might not be as large in terms of new locations, it should give players plenty of additional customization options to experiment with until Part 3 arrives.

Pokemon Pokopia Players Need Version 3.0.0 to Access the DLC

Before jumping into Dazzling Decorations on December 9, players should make sure they’ve completed the necessary requirements.

First, you’ll need the full version of Pokemon Pokopia and ownership of the paid Expansion Pass. The DLC is part of the three-part pass rather than a standalone purchase, so players cannot simply purchase Part 2 separately.

You’ll also need to download the free Version 3.0.0 software update when it becomes available.

There are a few in-game progression requirements as well. According to the latest details, players must complete the following important requests in Withered Wasteland:

    • Raise the environment level!
    • Rebuild the Pokemon Center!
    • Find a doll! – Drifloon’s important request.

Make sure these objectives are finished before the expansion launches. Otherwise, you might find yourself needing to spend some time catching up before getting access to the new content.

There’s no requirement announced to complete the Bubbly Basin expansion specifically. The confirmed progression checks are tied to the Withered Wasteland story requests.

What Is Included in the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass?

For anyone who hasn’t purchased the Expansion Pass yet, Dazzling Decorations is actually just one part of a larger content package.

The Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass includes three major content releases planned across 2026 and 2027.

    Part 1: Bubbly Basin

The first expansion, Bubbly Basin, launched on August 4, 2026. It introduced a new underwater area for players to explore, along with additional Pokemon, furniture, and other content.

It also expanded the game’s exploration mechanics through the Dive ability, allowing players to access the new aquatic location.

    Part 2: Dazzling Decorations

Arriving on December 9, Dazzling Decorations focuses on customization. Players will get new accessories for Ditto and other Pokemon, additional creatures, more furniture, and further decorative options.

Unlike the first expansion, it won’t introduce a new town.

    Part 3: Coming in 2027

The third expansion is currently scheduled for 2027. While The Pokemon Company hasn’t revealed its full feature list yet, it has confirmed that Part 3 will introduce a new town for players to explore and rebuild.

This means the Expansion Pass is designed to keep the Pokemon Pokopia experience growing beyond its original release, with new locations and customization features arriving over time.

Pokemon Pokopia Fans Have Another Expansion to Look Forward To

Pokemon Pokopia has already given players plenty of reasons to keep returning to their little Pokemon communities, and Dazzling Decorations looks like another welcome addition.

I’m particularly interested in seeing just how much freedom the new accessory system offers. Giving Ditto and other Pokemon sunglasses, bow ties, and matching ribbons sounds simple, but it’s exactly the kind of small feature that can make a cozy life simulation game even more enjoyable.

The additional Pokemon and furniture are also welcome, although players looking for a completely new location will probably be more excited about Part 3 next year.

For now, December 9 is the date to remember. Just make sure your game is updated to Version 3.0.0 and you’ve completed the required Withered Wasteland requests before heading into the new content.

With another expansion already planned for 2027, it looks like Pokemon Pokopia still has plenty of life left in it. And honestly, I’m perfectly happy to spend a little more time building a Pokemon paradise.
